Get your complete strut assembly and never have to use spring compressors again. amzn.to/2ETXzJV
Saves money
But who makes a good quality quick strut? Help us out.
Instead of buying this "Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly" I rather getting ripped off by the dealer for several reasons. Those Quick-Struts are never like the original struts. They're either make the front of vehicle higher or those new springs are too thick and make the vehicle worst than the bad struts.

Exactly!!! I had that same problem with a mechanic a few days ago about the springs on my car. He trying to tell me I should use the quick struts and I told him I wanted to use my original springs. I'm getting another mechanic to do it.
Why not just buy a new car? Or even build your own auto concern? You'd be able to afford a superyacht for the spare cash then!
The most relaxed guy every fixing a car! I am always cussing up a storm at every bolt that doesn't want to come off! Nice job!
Thanks for the comment.
Agree - but there a couple choice edits in there that we’ve all had to deal with. :).
This is a great video (but backing track level isn’t my thing )and it’s done with common tools and well explained. This sort of info helps teach people what they can do.
Me too, I like the satisfaction of accomplishment the job but I hate it, especially in the driveway, getting dirty, bruised, no matter what
😂😂😂😂😂😂 same here cursing so loud that my neighbor comes out to see who I am cursing at
6 years later and this video comes in handy! Much love bro!
Man you explained it better than Chris FIx you are the G.O.A.T new sub
Hey, well done. You clearly showed all the correct steps. Showing the two ways to get the job done was a great idea too. Most of us DIYers know to always check and recheck the torque specs so when you didn't go totally through that part in detail, we understood. Thanks for doing the video.
Thanks man for the video. Saved me about $400. Did mine yesterday and still had time to watch LSU/Bama.
Very accurate and complete video. I especially liked the advice and trick of loosening the center nut first, then using a wrench to hold the top mount, while removing the center nut.
Thanks again for watching another video and you're welcome.
By far the best how to replace struts video. Every step explained simply and clearly. Everything shown on camera so that we get a good visual. Thank you and please keep it up
Thanks so much for putting both options in the video, so that I can show my Dad just one video. I don't think he'll mind the music that everyone seemed to be bothered by. It's the technique, after all, that I am sure they all came for. At least it was my reason for watching. Seems easy enough for a woman to do, if only men would let us. I looked through your other videos while I watched & subbed. You have much talent to be appreciated!
"..if only men would let us" !!!! Lady, be my guest. Fill your boots. Go for it. Volunteer here. Why the hell wouldn't we?
Nice vid - and really smart dog you have there - once you went to remove the strut nut he went out the door.....
I notice that too , good point .
😂😂😂
ba hahahahahaahahaha ...two thumbs up!
LOL He was like oh shit I might die! hahahahaaa
excellent video ! simple, straight forward, no unnecessary jabbering or silliness. I wish this guy would make videos for everything I need
Thanks for the comment.
Man, his dog is so tune seeing his master working, and he or she just sat right there watching he's master work .
Great teaching techniques. This guy is a better instructor than any of the professors I had in college.
I really appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching.
8yrs ago , and still relevant today. Good vid mate
Of all the videos, including benz techs, this is the simplest most understandable and accurate video yet. I applaud your straight forward presentation!!
I really appreciate what you said thanks and I'm glad the video helped. Thanks for watching.
Great how to video. Straightforward and no messing! Nice chilled out style. Thanks for posting. Have mine to do on my Mg ZT, Great tip about loosening the centre strut bolt.
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Good luck on yours.
Sweet! Man, I wished I had a garage. Toyota told me a grand to replace my struts. 😳thanks for the inspiration ✌🏽
You saved my repair job - I have a 2002 and I wasn't able to get the top nut off, but your breaking technique while it's still mounted did the trick. Thanks!
Probably the most easiest video on here. Thanks dude. Appreciate the video
So the way to change a strut without using a compressor is to get a complete strut assembly. Good Video.
Doggy stole the whole first half of the video bub. Thanks for the shared knowledge 🙏🏻
Good video I never replaced struts before, but with your video I am 100% sure I can handle the job. Thank you good job!
Thanks I'm glad my video was able to give the confidence and understanding you needed. If you have any question feel free to ask. Thanks again and you're welcome.
I replaced the rear struts on my Mazda 626 before youtube existed. The first strut took me a couple hours because I didn't know what I was doing and I went slow with the spring compressor. Once I figured it out, it only took me 30 minutes to change out the second strut.
Nice job, and I enjoyed the tip of breaking loose the shock nut before you remove the strut. I wish I had done that first.
Great job. Doing my struts on the weekend. Thanks for the video!
Well done video, convinced me to get the whole assembly vs messing with compressing an "IED" spring....too old to be bothered with all that. Thanks!
I agree with you the whole assembly is so much easier and safe, plus you get all new components. Thanks for watching and I'm glad the video helped you out.
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you very much. Even though its about 6 years old, Its still very relevant to today's cars. It has'nt really changed that much. Im subscribed now and hope you are still putting out videos :)
Great video !!! You describe everything slowly and precisely. I also enjoyed your other video showing and describing the filters comparison... Thanks!!!!
I will get at this over the weekend on a jeep 4x4 thanks again for the video
I do robotics and electronics, I have also learn a lot on my own about automotive mech. Your video, explanation, calmness and easy going are a super plus at the uppest limit (👈not mistake!!!) Thank you for sharing brother. You have two great friends in the background watching you and keeping you safe also, add more points!!!.
You have a very good eye for the details. Thanks for watching I appreciate the kind words. Enjoy the rest of your day. People like you are the reason I love making videos on CZcams.
That was a great video and gives me a lot of confidence to proceed and save a lot of money only replacing the failed parts.I want to maintain the same ride specs and this is the way to go. My two dogs watched it with me, too.
I found the soundtrack interesting. Thanks for the help.
You're welcome and thanks for watching.
thanks watched 10 videos looking for the one bit of info you had it and I'm back on the job
Yo Bro you are the best I've seen yet so many people skip steps on strut assembly which is easy and not realistic or half at best, my knowledge speaks and my money speaks so I like to know all I can and not use so much money to replace already made struts. And if you are putting on fully compressed strut ask yourself how they do that, I know as a growing mechanic and being dormant for a great I want the grass roots how to replace a strut b/c you may be in a situation where all you can get is struts and now what your stuck like chuck, and may later pay more to a mechanic to stab the flesh out of your body, ems, some of y'all better chill and get this knowledge and be glad this man gave us the piece free of charge, organized, and very descriptive. Good piece ma dog you DA Man-Da-mechanic!!
This guy is fricking awesome at explaining, good job, with a good camera and editor, I can see you getting lots of great content and followers. thank you for this awesome video.
I appreciate the comment and I'm glad the video was able to help. Thanks for watching and you enjoy the rest of your day.
Great Vid, and as others have commented, great music. Can always tell a mechanic knows what he is talking about when you see that wheel under the car!! Plus his relaxd, laid back method of instruction. Thanks
Thanks for watching and I really appreciate the comment.
you fooled me 😅 i thought you were gonna show me without compression clamps not assembled new strut installation 😅 you good dawg.
Nice, even the dogs are chill as this dude…good man
THANK YOU!! Super helpful! Great music too, though I really like that you also did a music-free one that I can use when I need to. Now I feel like I can change my struts with confidence!
Kurt Shapiro You're welcome and thanks for the comment. I appreciate the support. Have a good day.
Thanks Man, perfect job well done
Smart guy, you make it look so easy. Nice tips!
great video. Gonna subscribe, you are great at editing and you got straight to the point. Great video all around. Gonna try to fix my struts on my 02 Acura RSX.
Ben Salvo I really appreciate the support and I'm glad my video helps you out if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks again
Grate video explaining the spring compressor.
Most well behaved dogs I've ever seen. In anybody else's house they'll be then help rocket launch that spring.
I knew you were a smart guy when you threw that tire under the car. I've been doing that for years! Thanks for the video!
Great informative video . I watched the whole thing and it actually helped me get it done myself. Thanks
Glad I could help and thanks for watching. Good job on doing it yourself.
Thanks! Easy to follow. I thought I was going to have to replace my entire strut assemblies just to replace the mounts, but with your explanation of compressing the springs, I'll leave the struts in place (they're fine) and save a ton ($400+!) by just replacing the mounts ($25/ea).
You're welcome, I'm always happy when I can save somebody some money. Thanks for letting me know and I appreciate you watching.
You still should change them every 50-100 thousands miles man. You’ll appreciate the ride quality and the rest of your car will too.
The best tutorial video and also a lot tips. I learned a lot from this tutorial. now im able to repair my own car and also to share my videos with all you.
YOU MAKE IT SEEM SO EASY GREAT TEACHING VIDEO
6:59 when the nut is taken off, Fang the Wonder Dog, "Dude, I'm OUTTA HERE!" :)
good clear instruction, relaxed manner, sound light and camera.
Thank you and I appreciate the comment.
Thanks man ,very informative video.
Excellent video. Thank you. I have been hesitant to do this job but you make it look manageable.
You're welcome and thanks for watching.
Very well done and thank you for providing the knowledge....very helpful
Man I'm gonna go for it! Lexus IS 350. Thanks for making it look easy Ox! Big Ups!
I appreciate your comment and let me know how it turns out.
Thanks for the vid. It’s gonna help a lot!
Thanks for sharing this video, it helped a lot 👍
Nicely done, thank you. that method of torquing is exactly what my dad used, I have stripped many a bolt / nut that way so I bought a torque wrench.
I am doing my 98 buick so needed to see how to do it, looks like something even I can do, thanks again.
Thanks for the nice words and for watching, good luck on the 98 Buick.
Enjoyable and informative video both ways. Your voice is soothing and the music is not too distracting. Unfortunately, plan to buy the whole assembly since it's so rusted except the coil spring. The rubber piece is worn and torn on both front side and driver side there are 2 zip ties ( just discovered after a DIY brake job) holding the strut bottom in place.
3 years old but still awesome, thanks!
Very nice! Love the tip about loosening the strut head while still in the car. Thanks!
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Let me know how it goes.
Good video; using as a reminder since I haven't placed struts in a few years. Nice sound track.
Comelius McElveen Thanks, I appreciated the comment and thanks for watching. Glad the video could help and if you ever have any questions feel free to ask. You have good taste in music. You have a good day.
Good video man! Very helpful, thank you!
Your dogs are great, and thank you for the video. I learned a lot. Have a great day.
Haha, thanks for watching, a lot of people see the dogs. Good eyes.
Great video Dude.
I would always recommend replacing the strut support mounting friction bearing. ( i learnt the hard way.) I had to repeat the hole process the week after. (Friction bearing!!!)
I love your dog just watching you work.
They always watch. Thanks.
I love the music. The kind of stuff i like to listen to when working on vehicles to help keep me calm.
Thank you for watching and for liking the music.
Great video. I forwarded it to my son. Good tips. Wheel under the car. I usually do that. Should do it every time. Loosening the nut on the end of the strut while its still attached to the car. Great idea!! I never thought about that. Like you, I struggled getting the nut off after I had the strut removed from the car.
Mark Clark thanks for watching and leaving me a comment. CZcams is all about giving tips. Thanks again.
we have all at sometime , forgotton to loosen that nut prior to pulling the strut..LOL wwhat I do is use the long bar from my 2 ton jack that you use to raise it up...I just position the bar between 2 of the 4 bolts on the top strut mount ..gives me plenty of stability to keep the mount from turning with the strut laid on its side and the bar keeping the mount still.
Well done, like how you demonstrated at the end that mounting bearin was working
Very nice, so unusual music, and very cute doggy, actually there is another one. I feel much more comfortable to do this project after watching the film. Thank you, especially for the tip on braking the nut. I'm replacing the whole assembly, but still that old spring should be released (for safety) before taking it anywhere for recycling or putting it in a trash container.
Job well done bro, cause I need a video like that, cause I'm going to try to change my mother's Toyota Avalon shocks
To be honest with me I appreciate the tip about taking loosen the nut up before taking it all the way off and the music is good I enjoy it very much I really enjoyed it thanks man
I appreciate your comment about my video and the music. Thank you for watching.
Like the muzic one of the best videos for installing struts with hand tools ....helped me alot thanks
yo you have all the classic instrumentals. takes me back
Great well-made video. I am going to change mine out this month.
Thanks and let me know how they turn out.
Thanks for the video. I am planning to get my shocks changed myself as garage is asking over £120. Some videos says it's too hard. You make it look simple. Cheers

thx for the video. a nice refresher. it had been awhile since I replaced struts.....
Mtn Noel thanks for watching and you're welcome.
Great video, I bought a set of those compressor springs 20 years ago, used about twice, but they do work well. I've picked up some good tips here, all the best from Glasgow
You're welcome and thanks for watching.
Yeah, those compressors are the sort of tool I think I will rent from auto store.
deasttn I think it is a better deal to rent them because you can return them when you're done. Let me know how the job turns out and thanks for watching.
Haha very funny! Very informative! Thanks for the video
Just what I needed to see. Thanks.
great video, great job on explaining each step. thank you.
I appreciated the comment.
I hate working with coils,it's like handling a shot gun with faulty safety switch lol cheers for sharing
hahahahaha
Good video, very informative. There are parts where what you are saying is drowned out by the music though. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for watching I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Yes, I know this was early in my CZcams career and the music was a little loud. I appreciate you seen it in such a nice way. You have a nice day.
Thanks for the video. You did a great job.
Good stuff man. Keep it up!
Thank you for this man!!!
thank you great video you may have saved my life. I had no idea about the dangers of the shock.
You're welcome and I'm glad I could help.

Thanks for posting. I have to do this in a couple weeks on a '07 Mitsubishi Outlander. Was trying to get the Quick-Struts but they don't make them for my car. Searched everywhere online. Ordered Spring compressors and struts from Amazon. This video helped with a lot of questions I had. Thanks again. Good Thoughts!
Fred Olivo I'm glad I could help you out. Struts can be a little challenging so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching and have a good day.
Very nice video and great work. Thanks for sharing and stay blessed...!
