Superb clarification! Also, when the ball falls on the ad rope without touching the ground it is considered six and the white line or any other previously marked line is insignificant in that case. Ad rope is always considered the boundary in ICC T20's. Third umpires with high resolution tv camera replays are not fools to give OUT. Only, dimwits who hate India's success create such controversies.
So rightly said Sir
These guys are so funny. Believing a desert man talking to god, but doubting everything legit.
1. If the toblerone boundary was few inches before, SKY would have adjusted the catch accordingly
2. 3rd umpire had all the time to rule either way factoring in the rules. once it was adjudged out, no point arguing
Inzamam: India did boundary tampering 😢
surya took an exceptional catch and he did it according to rules
Surya took exceptional catch no doubt , But outside boundary
If rules has not to be followed in international cricket than just watch street cricket where there is no rules followed
@@skyshop4428 Sir, Since you are talking about rules, can you confirm, in case, the ball landed on the vague marking on the ground and bounced over the cushioned boundary line, will that be declared 6 or 4. Sir, Even grete soccer player Maradona was accused for hand handling the ball at Goal point, for which Maradona himself declared that may be God's hand guided the ball to the goal. But in Suraya Kumar's catch, it should be construed that Surya's God himself could have gone into surya's body to complete the impossible catch for the Praying Indians all over the world. Above all, the catch was reviewed by the third umpire and declared fair. Further, the world Cup T20I -2024 was very fair and the deserving team lifted the Cup. BELIVE MIRACLES DO HAPPEN AND SURYA CATCH IS SIMPLY A MIRACLE.

It's very funny that they call it a six only when the ball pitches on the rope or crosses it but doesn't call it a catch when the fielder's foot doesn't touch the rope!

Boundary rope is the triangle shaped form cushions, which was not disturbed. Secondly, it was a divine catch, for taking the title.
Perfectly right Sir.
The greatest cricketing catch ever.
I have seen such catches only in American Major League Baseball, even where they occur rarely.
Got to be eternally called “The Catch” in cricket.
Thanks for the clarification. It was a legitimate catch and was examined by the third umpire from different angles before pronouncing his official decision. If that catch had changed the life SA team is not our problem. Out of two teams one team must win. SA was unlucky as they were closer to the win but we were lucky. Our win also was genuine. Hence let's stop debating on the unworthy topic. Even 50 over World Cup finals last year in india many were saying the catch of Rohit sharma was grounded by the Australian fielder, that means his wrist was on the ground while catching Rohit Sharma and hence he was not out. But third umpire gave him out. Had he been batting continuously we would have won that final also.
Where is the front side angle..... I want india to win... Such a high profile game, where is the front Angle... Then only we can say foot has not kissed the board....

Puts all Controversies to Rest.
Boundary pushed a bit back to add more advertisements(ads).
i think my guess is when virat hit 3rd boundarry sa players dived to save that boundary and while doin that the boundary was displaced the groundsmen failed to notice it and surya took the catch on the exact same spot the boundary where it had displaced earlier
Thank you for the great review and honest analysis.
ICC still has the film/video of the catch. So for all doubting people plz go and check and make sure. SKY catch was completely LEGITIMATE and India won the game fair and square . By 7 runs. Welcome to the next tournament and be very well prepared.
See the white line in the video.. and see of other areas also where it was covered by physical rope
The boundary was disturbed when kohli hit jansen a straight drive and nortje chased it.
Hey I have checked it every single thing, that line doesn’t make any sense as you can clearly see that white line is slightly faded & not properly aligned.
Next you can clearly see some boundary personnels were sitting there if the boundary was moved then they would have moved it back to their original position.
If you see surya’s catch from top angle you can clearly see the boundary is perfectly aligned.
If you put boundary cushion on white line then it doesn’t make any proper alignment.
Last but not the least if you see the catch in a slow motion you can clearly see surya’s shoes didn’t touch any boundary.
Guys it was a marvellous catch ❤
whatever the jealous lot is saying, if the third umpire declared the batsman out, he is out. likewise in the last world cup also, in the final match between New zealand and england, the umpire's decision about runout in the last over was questioned. But that time the same people kept their moths shut. At the same time, whatever the decision, it has to be accepted.
Big teams like england and india get benefit of doubt. Australia used to get benefit of doubt too earlier before 2010. Now its india and to some extent england given their world cup win against newzealand.
Good point Bro. Jai Bharat! Jai hind! Proud moment for all Indian.

Congrats Sports Today for the correct explanation. I wish this video to go viral throughout the world. Already a fake video portraying ABD's voice on Surya touching the rope is under circulation.
SKY’s catch is legal and Indian victory is real and worthy. India haters may bury themselves.
This is not the moment, match was over when Klassen nicked behind!!!!
What stupid logic.. they moved the boundary by few inches for final.. really??
The board was moved early in the game after straight four by Kohli.. 1st over 6th ball..
India won.. these things happen..umpire missed it so India won fairly. Indian fans should not come up with such stupid excuses.
Well no one talks about the wide balls not given when SA were bowling but wide was given when India was bowling within the line
His foot touch the tip of the foam advertising rope/ boundary. It should have looked at closer... definitely a six but congratulations to India. They played exceptionally well throughout the tournament. Jai Hind.🇮🇳

HE ACTUALLY TOUCHED THE BOUNDRY COUSHIN WITH HIS FOOT WHILE HOLDING THE BALL, GO SEE IN SLOW MOTION THE BOTTOM OF THE COUSHIN MOVED SLIGHTLY WHEN HE WAS HOLDING THE BALL! ITS A SIX. the umpire missed it and its poor that he lied about it
Well, i am very disheartened to say this but the boundary rope was clearly moved, i checked it again , and when Miller hits it in the air, you can see from the above angle that the ropes were clearly moved further. (I am not talking about replays, i am talking about real time from the above angle over Surya's head)
It remained the same for both the sides sirji😂😂😂even during India's batting it was same...so now what's the fuss about just bcoz India won some controversies need to be created just like our neighbours do😅😅
Yeah, while the bowl was traveling to boundary for a six, SKY was busy pushing the boundary, eventually to take such an easy catch. Such an trivial thing people fail to see…

@@Damn-Age that's what bro...people just can't digest the fact that India won..be it our lovely neighbours or some of our own people...🥲
It's stupid to say that boundary is moved..if thats your logic of giving a six then how many places in the ground would have the boundary that is accurate and not moved? Not a single place is accurate and is continuously moved by the fielders. All that is practically possible is to accept the boundary rope or the toblerone to be the boundary line and not the actual line.
Thank you for clarification
new rules must be made..once u catch ..u can't step out of boundary...that will stop this controversy

You are only looking at the boundary line. What about the foot position. Zoom into the foot position. He actually touch the rope with his foot while holding the ball. Sir please look at all possibilities not only the position of the rope.
That was brilliant. Finding fault is jealousy Momin hate brilliance
We have seen so many such catches at the boundary
When those were legitimate then this is 100% legitimate
End of story
Jealous souls cant accept this fact and if it's their country, then they will accept it
There are a certain number of pitch in the ground, boundary is marked according to pitch so the dimensions changes and leave mark on boundary as multiple matches are played in a ground with different pitch
If that was boundary tampering, then it's for the whole match right
It's the duty of the ICC, ground men and umpire to watch for before the game started
And to end it, the unbeaten Indian team lift the trophy
So there ends the debate
The two teams are not a part of it
India is always great very well explained thanks bro

@@harinadhbabu309 No need for explanation at all. The cricketing world seen the catch taken live as well as the third umpires decision. Moreover, the catch was something extraordinary, to take it two hands by the running Surya and also to complete it single handedly. Surya also dropped some sitters, but he just completed Miller's catch to win the tournament itself. May be SURYA'S strong will to do something extraordinary to compensate his batting failure, Blessed by his God. With regard to boundary line controversy, it is simply foolish, as boundary line was the cushion rope, not the image on the field. For all critics concerned, the pitch also has so many strips side by side, but playing strip only has stumps fixed on either sides. The catch was DIVINE AND INDIA DESERVES THE TITLE.
THANK YOU.
India won by cheating and fixing. Why the 2nd over to maharaj when he took 2 wkts in his first over? Why markaram bowled himself? why markaram did not bat well? all because was fixed match

Go to south Africa 😂
The third empire verified it precisely with multiple cameras placed at different angles and then conveyed his final decision!
So you mean Surya pushed the boundary before taking the catch???!
Very well articulated.
There is no question of the boundary line. Point is why a much clearer and close replays were not shown? You have such repeated replays on boundary/six or a ground catch, but why there is no much clearer version of the catch when the match was at such crucial stage? This would be dispelling the doubts of the bouncers.
excellent clarification
A bit of common sense... its a rope. If it is pushed out from direction then it would be pulled in (shorter) from another direction. The boundary is the rope. It was not changed after the all was moved. That is why the rope is there.
I am not a hater, i am truly happy with India's win, but one question when Surya took the catch on the second attempt he wasn't in the field of play as his last contact with the ground was outside the ground, please make a video explaining that

What does the rule say if the fielder touches the boundary
Superb explanation.
In the first innings nortje pushed it, while diving, and put it back hastily, that is the reason.
Then it was distributed means it should be called six but we were lucky

This guy has interpretted rule 19.2.2.2. incorrectly....the conjunction "and" implies that line serves as the legitimate boundary. So, its not about being disgruntled at India winning, its about fair play. On another matter, the BCCI-controlled ICC ensured that team India had the best advantage behind the scenes, in terms of logistics of the tournament. Did you ever hear of Indian team being stuck at the airport for 6-10 hours? Did you ever hear of the Indian team travelling 2 hours to their practice sessions? Ask Afganistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa. Not to mention the horrible pitches these teams had to play on. So, yes, accept that India has highly advantaged logistically for this WC, just like in the 2023 50-over WC. So, I think people are not jealous against India winning, but against the umpiring and unfair advantage that India seems to have over other teams (not to mention their per-existing knowledge of playing venues and opponents). Lastly, why schedule matches at 10.30am , during work times, only to appease the Indian population? Results could have been different if matches were played in the evenings.
Good explanation, Just for interest why would the boundary have been shifted before the game? The rest of the boundary seemed to be on the line?
