Lucius basically has unlimited lives. He has never dueled Kharn to my recollection the one opponent where his winning in defeat would not work on as Khorne would never allow it.

A duel between Lucius and Kharn would be a great fight. Two masters of melee combat with each having their own style and weapons. Plus it would be very interesting to see if Khorne would let his champion be taken by the curse of Slaanesh if the Betrayer was to fall to the Eternal.

The artists like Bequeth kinska and the sculptureer that got him to cut himself for every memorable duel set him on his path for real. The 3rd have a strange "gay friend" attitude to the women that they war and hang with. Lady Savona of the ruptured skien commands 300...now 200 of the 12th millennium...a former mortal that is now taller but slimmer than an astartes. Wears power armor and undying obedience of her Paramore Bellephus the "gutter poet". She spent a few centuries with fabius in the flesh market keeping control of those meth'd out leather daddies. Sorry for the rant but I love the 3rd.💣💯😎💪🏼🍻

I have the opposite position ..instead of never taking a step back, I do so ...I draw the enemy in with his flurry of strikes ...and then, as he overextends after tens of lightning fast slashes, a short cut to the wrist disarms him .... Basically matching his speed in parry and the attacking with pin point accuracy with my faster speed .
Honestly, its hard to know what really became of Lucius. Because many documentation makes him a deamon now. While some keep him as a possessed swordsman... So I'll take this one with a grain of Salt because Horus Heresy only speak of Lucius clone during Holy Tera siege.
For all those who think he sucks for that same logic then deadpool must suck as well, rite? But there are tons of good books with deadpool in them. Lucius is interesting in my opinion and adds q bit of self awareness and contrast in a setting that prides itself on death being fairly permanent

I get Lucious takes over the body and the soul of the prideful winner of the duel will be absorbed into the armor. But what if a fighter beats Lucious, and then immediately is killed before they can be prideful. Would that kill Lucious permanently?
What happens if someone kills him in battle and then 1s later a titan blasts the shit out of the guy that just killed Lucius? Is he dead? Does Lucius require his force always lose when he dies and the person that kills him doesn’t die afterwards? Pretty stupid power to have.

For me it was the necron killing him. It's supposedly a robot, and yet it felt "cold pride" at killing him, so Lucius was resurrected.
