    My daughter didnt talk till 3 years old, to the point that i thought she would be autistic because she had a lot of temper tantrums and sensory issues plus not talking. I did therapy for two years and honestly..... it didn't do much. They would spend and hour with her working on her sensory issues and another for speech, but really half of that was spent on them doing paperwork to log in what they had worked on.
    What really got her going was school. She learned how to behave and talk and come out of her shell in school. She is now 14 and doing great going to highschool this year.
    You do what is right for your family 😊

      There are not enough studies on this ,and if they are ,they contradict a lot. My daughter is 3 years old and we are using screen time in moderation, yet she started to speak very early on and pretty well. At 6 months Dada and mama and so on. It's more related to genetics ,environment, gender etc. I don't stress anymore about screen time. As long as we also play out ,travel ,eat well ,spend time together, she can have screen time too.

      @rcg224 Před 14 dny +7

      @NotquiteAna1 yeah you're not wrong at all and I'm glad your daughter is doing well ! it's just a trend I've noticed in her videos time and time again, it's tv tv tv tv tv . tv in the morning , while she works , at lunch, at dinner after nap. almost every video for a year. and before u go omg ur a stalker , I just like her content and my son is a similar age . I've noticed this and commented before to her - she's responded. I just think it's worth adding boundaries for screens. We just don't do it in our home, But 30 mins or less or tv after playtime or something I could see . I think its about habits and I've noticed deacon gets set up infront of tv to play alone quite often. it's hard when ur a working mom for sure , but babybsteps .

My little is 20 months old, what worked for us was introducing a lot of different textures and flavors from a young age as well as enforcing family meals where we all eat together. Rusty, couldn't even say his name as a child, and now he can say some stuff better than I can. @lillynbelle so i will be honest, my son has been going to speech for almost 4 years. He is 6 and i have very mixed feelings about it. He sees 2 different therapists. 1 is a therapist at our local elementary. As a homeschool child he qualifies for walk in services there. She has made a lot of progress with him. She works very hard with him and the other struggles he has like some adhd and maybe cognitive delays. We also see a therapist at our local hospital. Her strategies i have mixed feelings about mostly because i don't see a lot of change with her. But i figure the exposure is good for him. Please remember....nobody knows your child better than you and no onecan advocate for them like you. Mama truley does know best. Good luck!

    My 2 year old is also a very, very picky eater. Is the occupational therapy for that ?

    • @makeuplover6852
      @makeuplover6852 Před 14 dny

      Occupational therapist can assist with many things one is eating. My son had both speech and occupational therapy, I discovered that the root cause of all of his problems came from his gut being very very very messed up. the gut is referred to as "the 2nd brain" this is because the gut is vital to our overall health. There are many things that can upset the gut health, things like, antibiotics, vaccines, over the counter medications like Tylenol, Advil, constipation remedies such as miralax (this goes by many names in other countries). These are just a few things that can upset the health of the gut, when our gut health is out of wack it can effect speech development as well as all kinds of cognitive development and can also cause a very heightened state of our senses, this can lead to a child becoming what we call a "super taster". This means that they may have a very limited diet as their sense of taste is very high, so how something taste to you can be completely different to your child. I encourage any parent who has a child that is really having difficulty accepting new foods to seek out the help of a naturpathic dr. They can have some tests run on the gut to determine what is the root cause and then help you work on getting the gut health stabilized.
