Every kid is so different, try not to stress too much, as long as your child is growing ok and isn't ill you're doing ok mama. My little is 20 months old, what worked for us was introducing a lot of different textures and flavors from a young age as well as enforcing family meals where we all eat together. Hey momma! My son is currently in Feeding therapy and has been recommended for OT. He will be starting ST once he enters school this fall. He will be 2 in September. Even though you’re seeing some progress with your son’s speech keep going to therapy and let them evaluate if he should continue services. I’ve heard that OT does wonders in making connections for toddlers who are struggling. It’s a tough journey but there’s light in the end!
Yes I agree keep with the speech he might not have been talking as much because of how many ear infection he had in the fluid but it’s definitely a good thing to have my three year-old did speech for a Year from two to three and it helped so much
We started our little guy in ST when he was about 15 months and I wish we had started sooner, he continued it well after his 3rd birthday and I loved his progress so much. I thought he needed more time but when he was tested again they said he was where he should be. Good luck!
Keep up on his speech. My husband has a speech impediment, he had therapy as a child, and his speech is so much better. His mom has told me so many stories about his improvement. Rusty, couldn't even say his name as a child, and now he can say some stuff better than I can. I used to have a stutter as a child, come to find out when you have a horrible home life, that'll cause anxiety and anxiety causes stuttering in some people. I rarely stutter anymore.
Keep the speech therapy! It’s great that you can see a difference but still it’s so helpful! I love that these things aren’t taboo anymore if kiddos need a little help they need a little help! It helps them throughout their life

we are about to navigate speech and occupational therapy with our 16 month old boy, and it’s been very difficult to find the right thoughts and feelings that go with this journey, but i’m praying it helps us, and yall as well
With the therapies he need I say keep an eye out for more signs that he may be autistic. I’m not saying he is but just keep an eye. As a mom to 4 on the spectrum we look past it thinking it’s just a speech issue or food issue when these are big signs .
@lillynbelle so i will be honest, my son has been going to speech for almost 4 years. He is 6 and i have very mixed feelings about it. He sees 2 different therapists. 1 is a therapist at our local elementary. As a homeschool child he qualifies for walk in services there. She has made a lot of progress with him. She works very hard with him and the other struggles he has like some adhd and maybe cognitive delays. We also see a therapist at our local hospital. Her strategies i have mixed feelings about mostly because i don't see a lot of change with her. But i figure the exposure is good for him. Please remember....nobody knows your child better than you and no onecan advocate for them like you. Mama truley does know best. Good luck!
Hope his sessions go well! I’ve heard, hopefully I’m remembering this correctly, that speech and eating can go hand in hand so maybe going to both therapies can help him out!
Occupational therapist can assist with many things one is eating. My son had both speech and occupational therapy, I discovered that the root cause of all of his problems came from his gut being very very very messed up. the gut is referred to as "the 2nd brain" this is because the gut is vital to our overall health. There are many things that can upset the gut health, things like, antibiotics, vaccines, over the counter medications like Tylenol, Advil, constipation remedies such as miralax (this goes by many names in other countries). These are just a few things that can upset the health of the gut, when our gut health is out of wack it can effect speech development as well as all kinds of cognitive development and can also cause a very heightened state of our senses, this can lead to a child becoming what we call a "super taster". This means that they may have a very limited diet as their sense of taste is very high, so how something taste to you can be completely different to your child. I encourage any parent who has a child that is really having difficulty accepting new foods to seek out the help of a naturpathic dr. They can have some tests run on the gut to determine what is the root cause and then help you work on getting the gut health stabilized.
