- I am FINALLY SAILING again!!! After nearly 2 months in St Martin, a lot of boat work, and good times with friends, the boat and I are ready to sail!! I am so excited for the upcoming months and this sail was a beautiful start.

There’s nothing like a working auto pilot standing at the helm day and night is fine with a crew but Mako just hasn’t figured out his position yet. On top of that AC and HW that’s better than staying at the Ritz.

Well Lauren, its easy to see by your face how happy you are now that you are "living" in your boat now! I know first hand how having to heat up water is. Having something as simple as hot water is a game changer! Ive never been one for AC but for those who have the need its great to have it no matter where you are. You're getting things done that will make life so much better. Great job Captain!

Mako is such a larger than life character. When you were standing in the companion way it was funny to see that tail sweep out over the edge of the Bimini. St. Martin is not a bad place to be. It's so nice to see that smile back on your face. You are back in your element. Mako likes to be at sea as well. Fair winds and following seas. God speed in your journeys...

@Lauren Landers thank you so much for your channel. I've loved wind powered sailplanes and sailboats my whole life but was never in a position to own either. But I have been up in sailplanes a few times, haven't been on a sailboat yet (those are a little harder to come by when you live in a desert state :). I have owned many remote control sailboats and sailplanes my whole life. Thanks again for your channel, I enjoy it very much and say hi to fuzzy Mako kitty for me!

That was some sailing there Lauren. You are an inspiration girl! Glad you finally got your auto pilot sorted, it's a must when solo sailing. Keep living the dream. Oh and cut down on the coffee if you want to sleep more. That's advice from a coffee addict who isn't even human in the morning without at least two mugs of strong coffee.

Thanks🎉 very nice, you are drawing us to the sea😊 Mako's dressing fine these days, and your timing is good for the bridge and arrival to St Thomas, perfrct, my boat must have spent a lot of time around the area, its CSY 44 Walkover built in Tampa and re engined in StThomas and al spares from back in Fort Lortidale, she now resides in New South Wales Australia, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie which has a challenging entrance to the sea, nice moments you just sitting or reading while the boat does its thing,, oh and hot showers n ac, woohoo so good on the water,,

I'm glad that you are doing the buddy boating thing. I heard about that American couple that are missing and their boat was found and 3 people are caught that they believe that they killed them. Please be safe out there. Stay in that buddy boating system.I worry about you because you are a girl all alone. Oh, I seen a video about you. I'm pretty sure it wasn't put out by you. It was like an autobiography about you. It talked about where you are from and that you went to college for oceanography. And you choose the life style that you are living instead of going back to school to get you bigger degree. It even mentioned your cat (Mako). And it said that you are gonna be sailing with your friends for awhile. I learned alot about you. I think your the same age as my daughter. Okay you take care and I'll see you next week. 😊

When you get back to Saint Martin go visit the Orient Bay Beach and Resort. It’s on the French side and could anchor ⚓️ near there.
I recognized the type of bridge that you left St Martin. (St. Maarten) This is a drawbridge (ophaalbrug) that you see a lot in the Netherlands. It is often staffed here by volunteers. It is a very old tradition that they throw you a fishing rod with a wooden shoe (klomp) attached to it for a tip. If you ever visit a Dutch island again. We have very tasty breaded fish, (lekkerbekjes en kibbeling) they must have it there too. Take care of yourself. Safe sailing!
Megan's Bay would be a great spot to stay for a few days. I love St. Thomas as an island and always stay away from the cruise crowd in town. There's also a nice cove off the beach of Bolongo Bay resort. Oh heck, just head over to Peter Island and hang out in one of the beautiful coves they offer. The food there is also amazing, but a bit expensive. Your videos truly bring a smile to my face as I continue to battle cancer and other health problems. Thanks for being a lamp unto my feet.

I studied relevant math in engineering school. Control theory. For example, motor vehicles would bounce up and down, on their springs, without shock absorbers. Shock absorbers damps oscillations so that they quickly shrink to nothing after each bump.
A sailing channel (How To Sail Oceans) found that bungee cord can help dampen the back and forth motion you describe. Don't be afraid to try ghetto a better outcome. Good luck,

Love your videos. So glad you got the autopilot fixed but it seems to be over correcting. Reduce the sensitivity and it won’t work so hard and last longer without failing. 👍
