@@david-jameshernandez693 I don't know about the guy, but first you have to consult the laws of your country and where the fossil was found, for example here in Brazil (where I live) it is forbidden to buy and sell fossils, both to buy from abroad (to have in a collection), how much to sell, how much to have in a collection even if you find them around, since they are considered a national heritage and belong to the entire national population, and as such must be handed over to some museum or research center, being subject to heavy fines if discovered to be uncompromising (mainly in case of smuggling of fossils out of the country, which causes problems until today, after all, there are some extremely important Brazilian fossils, as they are the only representatives of certain species, which were smuggled out of the country and therefore cannot be studied, with the government trying to recover them for years.), So if you want to have a fossil first of all you should first see the your country's laws on the possession of fossils and the laws of the place where it comes from, to avoid any prosecution due to fossil smuggling (for buying fossils from a place where it is prohibited the sale and purchase of fossils), or for having a fossil in your collection where possession of such things is prohibited.

actually is not illegal if you talk with them first and anything you find you reported with them

@@bryanlasermagiktyler3132 what do you mean?I get permission? I am 99.9% sure it is still illegal and they do not give permission for this in state or national parks. The park ranger doesn’t just give out passes to people who talk to them first before they break the rules

@@Goldenretriever-k8m well if you're doing it without getting permission and approval then you are breaking the law, just like the petrified Forest in Arizona, it's now actually illegal to just take anything that you want.

It's not illegal at all, fossil hunting in Yorkshire is not just legal, but it is also a tourist attraction, search over internet before accusing people without proof@@Goldenretriever-k8m
