After having interacted with them at work, and met them in the DC area, if this guy believes the CIA is largely apolitical, then his experience is very out of date.
Or he is simply not telling the truth. These guys even those who came in from the cold knows what's going on inside the intelligence agencies since they are all still connected to said agencies. Now, the question is, whose side is he really on and he can only answer that question since the guy will lie to you straight up if you ask him.

Is case officer same as special activities division or paramilitary whatever called?
A case officer is also called an Ops Officer or OO. The Paramilitary officers are called PMOOs

What’s a nock?
NOC= Non Official Cover. Most case officers have diplomatic immunity and work under a bull shit title in a US mission or embassy. The NOCs are performing without a net and will be put in a gulag or killed.
