A sublime performance! My education in primary and secondary school included the daily ritual of singing one hymn from one of the Anglican books of praise. It was an important tool for helping me learn the English language. I feel nostalgic whenever I hear one of these hymns as it brings back memories of singing these hymns with my childhood comrades while our headmaster, the late Clive Rushbrooke(may he receive the reward of the righteous), provided piano accompaniment.

I do like this hymn. It is interesting that the occasional word has been changed from what I know, albeit without changing the meaning. (I live in the UK.)

Almost all the great old hymns comes in many versions. Amazing Grace, for instance, literally comes in up to a hundred versions, which is also, why it frustrates me, when Christian channels do not offer lyrics. Makes it really hard to sing along or find the right version. The verse about ten thousand years, everyone's favourite it seems, ending Amazing Grace, is not even an original John Newton verse, but a modern addition
