Today we have a build for Megatron from Transformers in Dungeons & Dragons. If you want a big old arm cannon to make you feel like the leader of the decepticons in D&D 5e, this is the one for you.

In all honesty Megatron kind of feels like a Superman situation, where it makes sense for all his stats to be high. He's remarkably charismatic (especially so in Prime), and is known to be quite cunning, which I would consider a Wisdom thing.
Indeed. To be fair, we've seen an array of facets with Megatron, such as the RID storyline where we see him learn and develop a new side and all.
The best thing about the original Megatron that turned into a gun is that the toy version had the gun’s trigger in his crotch.
So… like… when Starscream was firing him in gun mode…

This is very cool. Soundwave has so many powers and skills that I do not see how this could be done but I am sure Tulok will find a way.

I'd love to see Dinobot from Beast Wars, I think he'd be a fun character to play.

Beast Wars are large rather than huge. So slightly less restrictive to build.

I do think it is a mistake to dump charisma because depending on continuity he is also a master politician, creating the decepticon movement on cybertron.
Soundwave catching strays when Starscream is actively trying to betray you at the drop of a hat more than justifies the low Wisdom score.
I’d love to play Megatron.
Step 1: Shoot Starscream.
Step 2: Make sure Starscream is dead.
Step 3: fail somehow as his ghost comes back repeatedly.
Now we need a Soundwave build
Megatron is so cool, love the G1 transformers.

Beast Wars Megatron: Mix of fighter and bard for shapechanging spells and magical secrets
TFA Megatron: fighter with two weapon fighting, i vote clockwork sorcerer to cover the rest of his abilities
TFP Megatron: Mixture of fighter and warlock
Fun fact: Arcane Firearm works with Magic Missile in the same way that the Lv 10 Evocation wizard does. So, at Lv 5 you can get an average of 21 damage from a first level spell, with an additional 7 damage for each spell level
Sad fact: Artillerist Artificers can’t learn magic missile and if you learn it via feat or multiclass, arcane firearm still doesn’t work because it has to be an artificer spell
I would love more transformer builds
I know ... *I KNOW* ... that third attack at fighter 11 is *HUGE,* but I still think I might've wanted to go Artificer 10 for Winged Boots and concentration-free flight. But I'm not sure which I'd have gone with. Suppose it depends on whether or not the DM had already provided some source of spell-independent flight ...

I wonder how much Starscream would differ from Megatron. Both are big guys with guns on their arms that sometimes fly. Maybe Starscream has worse Intelligence from trying to betray Megatron but better Charisma from all the begging.
Starscream was a scientist before joining the Decepticons, so his INT and CHA should actually be quite high; in constantly trying to overthrow Megatron but failing suggests a low WIS score.
@@Drangelon most of your post makes sense, and I agree, except for higher CHA from his scientist background. I am curious as to your reasoning. I hope you'll reply.
@@ourkeving im not who you were saying youd hope to reply, and its 7 months later, but I can try and answer. The "Scientist" bit might have been true at some point, most iterations I know have ended up being Politician. In the first IDW run (which ill call IDW1 from now on), Im not 100% sure if he was a politician before the war, but I know at the beginning of that war, he was a recruiter, and actively convinced people to join the Decepticons (which at the beginning of that war in IDW1, was more of a working class revolution against an oppressive regime than the tyrants seeking to conquer the universe angle it normally is.) Later in IDW1, Starscream even ends up leading Cybertron with Bumblebee and a third unaligned bot, and he was kinda actually a decent leader there.
In the second IDW run, IDW 2, he was kinda a politican, however in the way the head of the CIA is, as he headed up Sentinel Primes intelligence corps (in this run soundwave disliked him because starscream actually usurped him and ended up leading the position, proving this starscreams cunning at least).
Something also not to be messed with is the fact that in other continuities besides the G1 cartoon, including IDW1 and IDW2, he is actually a *very* effective air commander. His seekers are considered elite, and when not a bumbling cartoon character his military successes are actually pretty decent. While not some grand strategist to oversee a war, he can be very effective in battles and think tacticfully, he is one of the top decepticons for a reason.
And also to add a point when again not a bumbling character like in the 80s cartoon, he can actually be very cunning. In IDW2 he somehow ended up leading pre war cybertrons CIA after usurping soundwave, and in IDW1 while leading a reunified cybertron with others, he was still doing behind the scenes shady things, and not really anyone knew for a long time.

I'm a big fan of transformers so I love this. I do wish the integrated tool - > integrated vehicle stuff the old warforged made it to final print but I suppose if you wanted to capture megatron you'd really need stuff from that old future setting ua with its summon vehicle spell and that's a bit weird to say the least.
Oh! Can we get Megatron at some point? Not this Megatron, but Beast Wars Megatron. As who doesn’t wanna be a villainous T-Rex?
Time to roll out for another build of quality, one can always apreciate a big mean robot (specially Tangle the lemur, when said robots are trying to kill her! but the lemur could be a good build idea Sir Tulok, please?) and it have to be a specially awesome one for being head of the bad guys for almost 40 years!
Megatron is the leader of the Decepticon faction forces opposed to the Autobots, a robot with origins as gladiator slave who wanted to change the corrupt government of Cybertron under the promise of self-determination as a right while seeking to take all with violence and ambition. A villain see himself as a hero in his own tale and such tale can cross with government agents, secret organizations and... ponies? but always will have you as the main force to fear, even if your gun form has some... questionable implications

I suppose Tulok could branch out to building characters in Pathfinder soon; there's a new online service in open beta called Demiplane that already had Pathfinder character building ready to go; it would also be a good excuse to redo past character builds because you would be building them for a different game.

Always great to see a Transformers build here! You didn't mention, but Megs could also use Enlarge/Reduce to put himself down at handgun size (well, almost).
So since Kamen Rider Wizard gets his power from a magical being inside him created by a magic ritual, would he be a sorcerer or a warlock?
I would say a bit of both. Wizard funnily enough also works considering he and his jeweler friend make new spell rings, which can function as the Spellbook and his prepared spells. Make sure to have some transformation spells for a Henshin, plus he's decently capable out of suit as well.
Might be both. Riders feel very comfortable in the coffee lock build, what with the "back in the fight after 1 speech" the show does sometimes
