"I Need a Grant"
When I had you to my myself, with deadlines all around
Those other websites always made you stand out in a crowd
But someone went and took them down, one click was all it took
Now it's much too late for me to take a second look
Obama, give me one more chance
(To show you all my science)
Won't you please let me submit my grant
O Boehner, won't you please call a vote
(Let 'em vote, baby)
So that I can please do my job
(I need a grant)
Trying to live with grants.gov is one long sleepless night
Let me tell you, FastLane, about my great PI
eRA, USDA are nowhere to be found
And NASA and NOAA are stuck down on the ground
Obama, all I need is one more chance
(Does this count as lobbying?)
Won't you please let me submit my grant
O Boehner, won't you please call a vote
(Let 'em vote, baby)
So that I can do my job
Great job, Michael! and yes, great voice...
Brilliant!
Actually, we are pretty familiar with it (and Google cache), and some of us were forward-thinking enough to download necessary forms and info prior to the shutdown. The issue is the actual submission of grant proposals. The systems used for submission and/or validation are down. This means that we can't submit to certain agencies (i.e., NSF, NIH) and/or the submissions won't be validated. For those agencies we can still submit to through grants.gov, there is no one there to read them.
