- In this video i go through the process i use to re-tooth western style handsaws, be that panel or backsaws. I quickly cover the tools that i use in this video as i use them, then i jump straight in.
Please be mindful if you are going to use this process your first need to know how many 'Teeth per Inch' use want to have on your saw, and ensure you have the correct handsaw triangular files, i will leave some links to the ones i use below.
Hope you enjoy!!
Thanks for your support!
If you have any questions or have your own method for re-toothing a handsaw please let everyone know in the comments below.

Thank you Sir.🎉
Thanks for watching
I remember many years ago I had saws that I used to sharpen and reset myself and one guy in the factory helped himself to one and cut through some timber with large staples in it and totally ruined my saw; I complained to the gaffer (a cabinet maker by trade) and the guy got a written warning. Took me a couple of hours to get it working as I liked it again, using methods you mention above.
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a pain to have to completely setup the saw again.
Very glad I found your channel. Great helpful videos for a beginner like me
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you found my channel too
Great video, how long did it take you to do?
Thanks. Took me about 1 hour (without filming), I like to take my time doing this job and try to be as accurate as I can
