- The inspiration for this video is a poem written by Erik Parry based on his experiences of living amongst and serving the people of Kiribati Islands. I was fortunate enough to have served along side him in the Marshall Islands/Kiribati Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints between 2015 - 2017.

i serve in kiribati 2008-2010 its always bring me tears when i saw kiribati people around. Kiribati will forever in my memory..for it is the place i was called to labor and it is the place my testimony grow... i tangiringkami nakoimi elders aika a serve i kiribati knowing that we go through the same experience while serving to these beautiful people... i tangiringkami...ngai arau Noa i tabeka bwanau aio mai Tonga... iaomi te mauri,te raoi ao te tabomoa.

My younger brother is serving right now in your mission, and every time I miss him I tearfully watch or think of this video, as a joyous reminder of the blessing he is to our family here and to our divine family there as he serves as an island missionary. I’ve never been closer to him than now, when he is closer to God.

Congratulations, Kiribati!! I'm happy you got a temple announced. It's a wonderful day to witness a temple announcement in my mission. Hopefully, the Marshall Islands will get theirs. Sincerely, a Marshallese Elder, 2011-2013.

I proudly served in the Truk Islands (Chuuk) when Kiribati was part of the Micronesia, Guam mission. Thank you for this video. Brought back so many great memories of hanging with those amazing people who taught me how to be happy. And oh how I miss those sunsets!

Bro Parry, my heart burst into tears. Your poem is so heart felt, every word, every bit of it brought me back to tye isles of the sea. Btw I served in Vanuatu Port Vila Mission. While watching the video and listening to the lyrics of the poem, dear memories from my mission instantly sunk in. It pierced my heart. Kudos to you! Ofa atu toko! ✌🏽
Amazing video, is this Marshall Islands or Kiribati that is shown in the video? I was born in Kiribati but wasn't raised there because I was adopted to the U.S. as a baby. I always love seeing videos of Kiribati and learning more of my culture.
