The fact that she was the fifth choice of the Czech people doesn't sit right with me
The fact that they removed the juries doesn’t sit well with me.
They're based in Brighton, basically the south of England voted them into first place. I understand why they weighted the votes in favour of international crowds, but I bet this was a lot of Brighton fans.
@@duncanb9752maybe, but she got 33k votes. Not her equation score, raw votes, while Elly and Mydy had 7k. And the highest score from the Czech vote was 24k. I don't know, if that's enough, but apparently, she's known there. Although Iike to know how this came about, where her votes were coming from, etc. Highly sus stuff (after all, she's Russian), but maybe we're reading too much into it.

I’m in utter shock this song and performance won the national final but as I’ve been a Eurovision fan for years and years, these shockers happen pretty often in national selections and Eurovision itself
There were at least 3 better options (in my opinion) that would have better chances
I agree with people who claim Czechia’s voting system is messed up. Everyone who has the Eurovision app, had the option to vote and I assure you, a bunch of them never even listened to the song OR saw the life performance. But it’s so tempting to click on something when you are given a poll (and it’s free!). So people just choose the option with the most interesting looking person in the picture. Moreover, Aiko was the first option in the list, whereas some others weren’t even showing up on the screen and you had to scroll down just to see the remaining artists and vote for them
I don’t think this is the worst thing ever but the chances to succeed are slim. Especially considering there were other contenders to choose from

This is what happens when you depend on televoting and assign a 70% weight to international votes. Indeed, the rest of the world has chosen a song that won't be a strong contender in Malmö. I really loved Elly's song potential, a great heir of Domi and Vesna.

70% international votes, 30% czech. The votes are suspicious. Ppl can vote how many they wanted because VPN/autonymous screen.... That difference between 1st and 2nd place in votes is so big.... and Aiko song isnt special and live was bad ... Dont understand how she can get that much points
@orihusky7099 yes, and even if you don't take the 70% clause into consideration, it's still 33k votes, that's huge, are those Russians? I know, I'm among those who were calling out people for spreading conspiracy theories earlier this year, and now I ended up spreading them myself.

Yeah I'm concerned about qualification for this, even if it's executed perfectly. It's giving the same energy I get from a lot of these strong, aggressive, female-fronted entries that so often get left in the semi finals. I'm thinking Triana Park. I'm thinking Srbuk. I'm thinking Ester Peony, Ronela Hajati, etc.

I have to force myself to bop to the studio cut and the live version is serving absolutely nothing at all. Karaoke at the local village pub on a Thursday night.

This comment section and the live comments are so full of toxicity. The circumstances at escz are more than bad. There is so much time. She has all the tools to nail the song at eurovision and the studio version is a song that stands out. It is rock, it is modern, it is different. Wait before you judge too harshly, yall.
When people say the song might not be good enough and there’s room for improvement it’s not toxic, it’s an honest opinion. We need sincere criticism to improve ourselves.
I'm more worried about Czechia than I have been in recent years, definitely feels like it's going to be an uphill struggle for them. I don't think it's a definite non-qualifier but I think it has a lot of work ahead of it to get it to a place where it could qualify....and even then I'm not sure I'd feel confident calling it a safe qualifier. I do think this was the song from the selection that had the most potential though. Based on the studio I'd say it was my favourite song, though I thought MYDY had the better live package.
Such a good song, and if there's an improvement anything like Vesna's glow up (and why shouldn't there be?), then this could do well. Too many people are hating and spreading conspiracies, which is exactly why this fandom can be so toxic and divisive, and why some artists have felt bullied. Be nice people.
Czechia were like our song was too competituve last year.. lets not make that mistake again 😂😂

I genuinely like the song, I don't find it bad, but my concern is whether it will stand out enough for qualification. Even if her live performance in Malmö is good, I remain uncertain about their qualification, and I'm also skeptical about the ESCZ results.
Most years ESCZ gives us a surprise winner. I now believe that each contest is fixed every year.
Y’all may be hating but let’s remember one thing. She has 4-5 months to improve the vocal and the visual for Malmo. I honestly think if she uses her time wisely and learns from the mistakes made in the ESCZ performance, she could make it to the final
This song is an absolute bop!! I love it. Her live leaves a lot to be desired/improved but this studio cut i know will be one of my faves this year :-)
If the Czech delegation wants to try and get the Czech people more engaged in Eurovision and get the viewing figures up then this is a big, BIG misfire.
The Czech people have got their 5th favourite out of 7 choices and (assuming a similar overall quality to recent years of Eurovision) a likely NQ. How is that gonna increase interest? 😂😂

I dont know about this. I feel this song screams (no pun intended xD) for movement on stage more than bejba from last year. She didnt move that much during this performance, maybe she was just too excited
Maybe she should take vocal lessons and move less in her Eurovision performance.
I hope she can improve until May, because I love her as an artist and that song. She could actually be my third czech winner in a row, but that whole performance needs to change
The voting definitely didn't go as intended, no way did Aiko win in a landslide lmao I was hesitant on voting just because I felt it was pointless anyway as MYDY was going to win.. someone or some people definitely mass voted for Aiko several times. Did she get twice the votes Vesna got last year? Like come on... And I was around last year when Vesna were insanely hyped by Eurovision fans, where was the hype for Aiko? I must have missed it because all I saw was loud support for either MYDY or Elly. I say this as a neutral as I didn't vote for either of them, I voted for Tom Sean
She came in 5th with the Czech vote, so this is highly sus, either it's Russians or people who think, this enhances their own country's chances of qualifying. Or a mixture of both. This happens if you don't have juries and let an international audience decide for free.
@@in_wino_veritas I think someone or some people hacked the international vote somehow, that's the only logical explanation to me. They even admitted themselves that there was a different winner every two days and how does that make any sense if Aiko won by a landslide unless those votes came in late (in which case it was definitely manipulated through mass voting). Imo they should have admitted something went completely wrong, reset the votes and had some other way of casting the votes.
If you think this went fair and square, you just have be insane.. 90% of all top 7 videos on CZcams had either MYDY or Elly at 1st. Ohh and here are the combined results of 69 voters czcams.com/video/fjrFBCTBzhk/video.html 609 points for MYDY, 605 for Elly and 439 for Aiko.. Can also check Wiwibloggs poll where MYDY is in 1st with over 1100 votes, Aiko is 4th with 335.. Its not hateful or toxic to tell the truth about this as some people seem to think.. What if this happens again, lets not turn a blind eye

The live performance tho… She should do a Chanel and get some high heels and start run on a treadmill while singing, or a Loreen and sing while working out. Otherwise, make her stand still so she can focus on her vocals while the cameras are the ones who moves all over like in the MV 🤷♂️
Personally, I don't get why there is so much hate on Aiko. Her song was the best of all and her energy is totally one of a kind. Ok, yes, vocally she was unstable, mainly due to her enthusiasm. She has months to prepare for her appearance (vocally and aesthetically), so don't judge so quickly. I love her song and her as a personality, so I truly believe that she'll do well in Eurovision. I was shocked. In awe 😭😭😭 I really think this is going to be a nq no matter what but I will hope for the best. I think Elly had the most potential and I'm glad the Czech public agreed but like she was 5th ... that is such a difference 😭

I agree 100% about the energy of this song. I feel like she uses it all in the first chorus and is tired by the end so it fizzles out and she's out of breath. She should definitely work on controlling her voice. There are ways to do the punk rock thing and maintain control. I'm worried if she doesn't, the amount of times she has to sing this during Eurovision week (if she qualifies), she could lose her voice. Also, If she really wants to keep the chorus high energy with the verses being the low points, i think that could work but I would want something in the backing vocals/track during the chorus so she can save some of the energy for the end so she can really let loose and finish strong.

What I think would be a great performance for Malmö: put her on a huge platform, a pedestal if you will, for the entire song. Large enough for her to make choreo and walk around yet still restraining a bit to make it more cohesive of a performance. A lot of close shots and dynamic shot changes. Maybe let Aiko sing the first "put myself on a pedestal" of each chorus to the camera which is in the frogs perspective. And yeah, DEFINETLY outfit changes cuz those weren't it 💀 I was shocked as I discovered Aiko earlier this year and been obsessed not only with her music ever since but also her fashion.

Honestly? At least it's giving high energy. It's lively. If it comes after a boring ballad, it might be appreciated enough to get 10th in the semi. If sung right, obv!

I feel like last year, Vesna improved so much vocally. And this nf is just quite a poort production. I feel confident Aiko is gonna get help from Czechian team and she will perform better live. I'm still afraid the song itself is still something risky to try and qualify with
When I saw the video where they revealed to her that she's the winner, my first thought was "hahah, they will probably publish a video of every contestant reacting to a JOKE announcement that they have been chosen"... as soon as I realized that the video was legit and Aiko was the outcome of our national selection, I have to admit - I was shocked, I was angry, I was sad, I was disgusted and I was confused. Like I hadn't even considered her song as an option. Before the result was announced, I had watched many reaction videos and seen a lot of polls and Aiko was nowhere near victory. And then when you take the international votes into account... it's just very fishy. I know I simply have to accept it, but it makes me sad knowing in advance that I will not even have the desire to root for my own country. How could she have received 33k votes from abroad while the others had around 5-7k???
You hit all the same references i did when it comes to comparisons to previous entries. I like the studio track, but i dont see myself listening to it end to end by may. The performance needs work and she needs to add a stunt or prop or moment in the song bc europe does not care about a standard pop-rock song performed adequately (denmark 2022, san marino 2023, slovenia 2022, etc.)
I hope that she improves her vocals, cause the song is a very good entry actually.

I honestly love the song, giving me some mainstream and retro at the same time perhaps the likes of The Cardigans. The stage concept needs a major overhaul. But they have 5 months to throw ideas and creativity and vocal practice so I have hopes for Czechia.
Why I remember Switzerland 2018 ?
Well, personally,I would have preferred Mydy to win, but her song in the studio cut is OK, her live vocals need to improve, though. Plus she should be accompanied by some good and loud backing vocalists and should do less (or better, no) choreography. And other outfits for her and the dancers, especially the one wearing a bra only as their top. And such results are happening, if you have no juries and even rely heavily (70%), on international online voting (where people who want to make it easier for their own countries to qualify by voting up a bad option for Czechia, plus who knows, how many votes are coming from Russians or Russian bots). Juries should either be there or there should be in person auditions before the NF, to make sure ghat everyone in their selection can actually sing.
We all want Czechia to qualify but countries need to be punished when they mess up.

I’m sure she’ll improve and will be fine in Malmo, this was it’s favorite studio track by far and is very current so it can do pretty well
to be fair the whole show was a mess soundwise. At least she felt comfortable, was doing all the moves and pulled through
Pedestal is a great song, but that live performance was a mess. Her best bet is to have a strong backing vocalist because she really has no control over her own voice. She needs a lot of work, otherwise she is just fighting to stay out of last place.

Flashback of Poland 2023 and rigged results.
Aiko is really a female Jann. Thankfully, Poland was smart enough to impose juries, a thing that Czechia should have done as well. Now, of course, she won the international vote by a landslide. With all Russians and people who didn't want Czechia to succeed voting. Yikes. Or if you mean, it's like with Bejba that she could improve on her live performance in Eurovision? No, I doubt she wants to take some time with a vocal coach, plus her vocals are weaker than Bejba's. And her performance is much messier. And not everyone with weak vocals was able to improve, eg, Reiley, the Dutch couple, Mae, Victor. And Wild Youth were even worse than in their pre-selection.

I explains this is my 1st state of play. I (emphasis on I) feel like the music industry as a whole isn’t in a great place right now so if the prevailing industry isn’t consistently strong it’s be silly to assume that Eurovision would somehow be exempt. And the democratization of music production has made it so SOME (not all) genres are lacking in creative musicality- creating original pieces as a performer who is actually behind their product as opposed to a performer not even a part of the creative process.
And I said is SUSPECT that we might have a weak year… maybe it’ll be strong? But I’m not going to get my hopes up.
That’s true, when an artist doesn’t take part in the creative process a song will never be soulful.

I can't understand how this crap won ESCZ... When all the polls had MYDY as number 1 and it was the only good option for Czechia. Well better for the other countries, because Czechia stays in the semi-finals.

What i love about this choice is,that the chosen act is raw,not yet too polished.In my opinion,they should stay with some of that fresh/raw flavour,just fix the execution. Televoters love when they see something authentic/surprising in the contest.Rebels are loved!!!Think of Môneskin.🤟🫶🌻🍀
