  • I got another Sega Blast City but this time its a bit different than any unit I've had before. We will explore the the term HUO, its implications, and some other unique and strange things about this rare candy cabinet that has never spent a day in an arcade / game center.
For anyone curious Game Saru imported this cab from Japan. Gotten a couple questions about where it came from.

From what I’ve heard, the test board is a Sega game that’s sold with the cabinet because of Japanese regulations stating you cannot sell an arcade without a game.

The test board is probably Dottori-Kun. Arcade cabs had to be sold with test boards to prove that they were working, which is why you see them packed in with the cab. Awesome score on this cab man, it looks fantastic. The buttons look more like Seimitsu, but not sure about the sticks.

Blasts came with two looms, one that you've got currently connected which had the jvs power connector and stereo rca aka Sega 001 loom/harness and the other was just a normal jamma edge without the jvs and stereo. I've also got both of them, but I had to purchase my 001 harness

I am aware of the differences but my other cabinets always came with one or the other never both!

Sega must've given both lots when they were purchased. It's not everyday you see a NOS blast I guess :)

Awesome! David (Gamesaru) had one as well, so it’s cool to see 2 out in the world.

Man I wish you could compare the monitor to the ms9 in the other cabinet

I can definitely do a video on that but camera's don't pick up monitors super well. if you have an logistical suggestions i would be super open to them. the color and vibrancy on the HUO 2931 is unparalleled but then geometry and level of control over the picture is way better on the ms9. thats more to do with the model than the age and condition.
