    Great information and presentation… would you do a video covering descaling a plumbed in commercial espresso machine?

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před rokem

      Do you mean while it is plumbed in?

    • @mhf5044
      @mhf5044 Před rokem

      @@EspressoServiceNetwork not necessarily while it’s plumbed in, but is when it’s operating, unless that’s possible?

      @@mhf5044Read this article first. espressoservicenetwork.org/p/resources/diy-refurbishing-your-own-espresso-machine. It really puts everything into simple steps. I’ve descaled without refurbishing the machine but rarely. After reading, let me know what you would like to see if not the whole thing.

      @@EspressoServiceNetwork descaling without refurbishing would be what I’d be interested in. I have an 08 linea classic that is our current workhorse for our cafe 5x a week, refurbished quite a bit of it already but from my previous work can tell this is something that should be on my radar. My other remaining project is inspecting/replacing if necessary the heating elements in both the steam and brew boiler.

    Our machine (same as in video) is overheating at times. We do not have a PID controller on it and I have no idea of where the thermostat is located. If we put a PID controller on it, do we have to use the La Marzocco item or can we buy another brand. I see quite a few on Amazon. The OEM controller is about $650. Any brand recommendations?

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před 3 měsíci

      The OEM part includes the wiring, solid state relay and temperature probe. With the OEM part the algorithm is also pre-programmed. I would not consider another brand. Your thermostat is located in the center of the brew boiler. If it is a 3 group it is off center.

    thank you for this video! Question: what is the range of temperature for the thermostat on the boiler? I'd like to brew at a temperature around 185. Is that possible on a 2008 Linea Classic?

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, you can set the PID or thermostat for 185.

      Thanks for the response! So to confirm, that would include a 2008 Linea Classic AV 1 (before they started installing the PID controller)? I need to set it to 185 F to brew Yaupon espresso, which is best at lower temps. Thanks in advance!

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, you can set the thermostat to 185 on a 2008 Linea Classic AV 1. Make sure to shut your machine off and take all safety measures before making the adjustment.

    Hello , really like your videos, i just found a classic 2ee. she is from 2006 but in good shape. changing a lot of parts ,believe they are all from 2006. one thing I would love to see is a P,I.D. install. there is one video out there and its not so good. I know you can make a better one for sure.. thanks for your help.. Jon from ALL WELL COFFEE..

      Thanks, Jon! Unfortunately, we are fairly limited on what we can demonstrate do to liability. You're in luck, the La Marzocco PID kit will come with all the instructions you will need. Good Luck!

    Hello! We purchased our espresso machine used, it's a newer Linea machine (less than five years old I think). The temperature of the hot water/tea water is 200 degrees, but the three group heads water comes out more like 110 degrees. What's going on?

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před rokem

      Sorry, my comment before was for someone else. Most likely, your thermostat is not set properly or you have a bad heating element or the safety thermostat is tripped.

    The steam boiler for my shop’s Linea Classic isn’t heating at all, but the water level hasn’t gone down, nor has the reset knob responded to turning the machine off and on again. Any thoughts?

    • @EspressoServiceNetwork
      @EspressoServiceNetwork  Před 9 měsíci

      The following things could be bad, heating element, pressure switch, contactor, safety limit, or wire connections. Not certain what reset knob you are referring to? Let me know?

  • @violector

    I opened my shop today to find the boiler pressure on 0. No steam and no hot water. I turned on and off the machine a couple of times and boiler heated up again.
    No idea why.
    I always keep the machine on number 2. Any idea why?

      Hello! Most likely a faulty pressure switch or faulty contacotr/power relay. Let us know what you find out?

      Your flow meter may not be working properly due to bad wiring or connection.
