Hey there! Do you like Easter Eggs, Glitches, and Fun Facts in videogames like Terraria, Banjo-Kazooie, Super Smash Bros, and more? If so, then you've come to the right channel! I love finding and sharing small details in video games, which is why I create my Easter Egg videos. Glass Joe is definitely the most underrated character in this entire game. no matter how many times he loses, he always still fights because he enjoys it.

There are references to the NES game too:
- Sometimes Doc Louis will tell Mac to join the Nintendo Fun Club, but stop and say Club Nintendo (now My Nintendo) instead.
- In Contender Mode against Piston Honda, Doc may tell Mac to ''send him a TKO for Tokyo'', a reference to one of Honda's quotes in the NES game, ''I'll give you a TKO from Tokyo''.
He also says to Hondo "this sucks needs an oil change" (or something like that), a reference to how they had to change his name from Piston Honda to Piston Hondo due to the car brand
Doc can also reference an arcade game Arm Wrestle, which is within Punch-Out series, in a fight with Bald Bull, because of BB's appearance in AW
It’s possible to get two “last stands” in one game! I didn’t know about it myself until it happened to me. I’m not sure if you can get a third one, but the second one gave you even less health than the first one.
Ye I once somehow got two revivals on my first playthrough of the game which I didn't even know was possible at the time and have never gotten again since
To add to the Donkey Kong section, I think that the fact he is in the crowd before his fight is a reference to Rocky 3. In Rocky 3's intro, Clubber Lang is seen in the audience of all of Rocky's fights after Rocky becomes the World Champion and then while watching him fight, he's determined to fight Rocky in which he does later on in the film.
This seems very similar to the Donkey Kong situation in this game and I think that it is a nod to the movie.
Though the “DK in the Audience” thing was also back in the Arcade version.

I don't think lady is the same as Pauline. Pauline is in Mario Oddysey and looks like a young woman. And yet we're to believe that donkey kong has become old and senile as cranky kong? Their ages don't line up. I think the lady is just her own character and Pauline is another separate character who was kidnapped by modern DK.

Using Danganronpa’s death discovery music on that shadowed Donkey Kong actually fits really well
Not sure if it's random placement or intentional but from what I saw in the video I think DK gets closer and closer to the ring in the audience based on how far you're into the world circuit

The chocolate bar feature was used in the original Punch-Out on the NES as a motivational shoulder pat. If you use it immediately before the first round, your health will be cut in half. During round intermissions or after a victory, Doc will tell you to join Nintendo Club or "The Nintendo Fun Club" today. Another neat detail is that after every 100th win, Doc will say: "Alright son listen up. I'm very proud of you. Just keep it in the ring okay? You don't want to be a bully outside the ring."

Another fun easter egg that isn't visable that I learned from "Shesez" is that Piston Hondo is reading a Sailor Moon manga.
The fact they paid so much for that sailor moon manga Easter egg makes me wish sailor moon herself was in punch out

Here's a fact somewhat related to what you said: supposedly, the secret fighter wasn't originally gonna be DK, but actually Princess Peach. They changed it at the last minute because society, I'm gonna assume.

if you wanna get back up after nearly getting knocked out if you hear the audience cheer you can get back up but if you can't you won't get back up
there is also a very small chance you can get back up a second time

I've done the get back up twice in a row after getting almost knocked when I was fighting contender SandMan. (I used to be terrible at this game lol)

Fun Fact:you can do the same health regeneration trick in Mike Tyson's Punch Out and Punch Out feat Mr Dream if you press select when a round is over. Doc Louis will pat Little Mac on the back and when yo go into the next round,you will have more health

Fun fact:once you unlock Champions mode you can hold - and + and unlock 8-bit mode on 8-bit mode it makes the Sound effects from the NES days of punch out

IIRC, Piston Hondo gets different types of sushi floating around his head, and he actually notices which kind it is.
There’s also a reference in-between rounds that Doc Louis makes, where he references Piston Hindi’s original name, Piston Honda.
Fun tip, if the crowd cheers the moment a hit knocks you out before the on the ropes animation (audio only) mac is able to do his roar, I believe its minus, but for good measures I mash minus, one, and 2, if the crowd doesnt cheer at all, no chance. Theres also a VERY small chance to do it twice in one match. Dont rely on it, its RARE.

DK in crowd is a reference to the first punchout game by the way, in case you didn't know. There is also Mario in the crowd in the first game.

You missed two. Piston Honda can be seen reading a book during intermission. This book is actually a scan of a sailor moon manga.
The other one was DK was a rumor fighter in punch out nes. A hidden boss if you will. This was not true till punch out wii

Fun little fact: When mashing the 1 & 2 buttons in this situation, you are actually able to barely hear a heartbeat. That heartbeat indicates that you will be able to recover from the TKO. Although, this can only happen once. After a second time, you WILL get TKO’d.
It can happen twice, but it's not likely
3:41 this is kind of in the NES punch-out game too; if you press select, doc will move his arm faster and you’ll get some health back, and there it’s only once per match too.

Another neat lil reference is during the Aran Ryan fight, he always gets up at the count of 7 and you also have 7 Stamina
This is a reference his heritage (Him being Irish and all) and the superstition that the number 7 is actually a lucky number

4:15 If you keep mashing the 1 & 2 buttons you seem to increase your chances, if you are really, REALLY lucky you can do it twice in a row.
(Every time you do this trick it reduces the chances for it to happen again in that match)
For the 1 and 2 buttons, that's only when using the wiimote alone. If you're using the nunchuck it's also shaking the wiimote, just like the health regen. Also can only happen if the crowd is cheering for you, and I think it's tied to how close you are to the enemy. If you're close to his health you have a strong chance, but if he has full health it probably won't happen.
If you joined club Nintendo, you could play Doc Louis' Punch Out, and you got to fight Doc 3 times, the last time you knock the chocolate bar out of his hand and he gets mad, and a funny warning message shows up
Also, in the multiplayer mode, when you have the two fighters, you can also punch your fighter in the face until they fall down. You can also get a tko on giga mac if you land your punches right.

4:24 Because I know more about this game than anyone, the KO recovery trick will only work if there is CHEERING the moment the KO animation starts.
If there was no cheering (or audience sounds) then it won't work no matter how much you mash 1 and 2.
3:47 that also happens in the original, just you get a different amount of health each time, and if you press minus on the first round intermission, you lose health, I found it funny but un useful.

Hey! So the higher class the opponent is, the lower chance it is to get a TKO/KO Recovery. So if you're fighting glass joe, since his skin is made of baguettes and bandaids, you have a pretty high chance of getting the recovery if you smash buttons. But if you're fighting someone like TD Sandman, it's a very low chance to have mac throw himself forward and stay up. Probably just to fall again and not get it.
