    These videos are amazing man I’d watch these for 3 hours. You’re work is amazing one thing I have come to realize is all welding processes have their place but synergic mig really is the future. I do 80% stick and 20% tig and I can’t imagine the time difference welding these pieces out in my method. Plenty of love from Jamaica 🇯🇲 and I’m looking forward to your next video !!

    • @ARCONEWELDING

      Big up bro, my heritage is from Jamaica ✊🏽 and 💯 it all has its place and if you care about speed mig is the only way

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 Před rokem

      Has its place. Some industries wont have none of it though with solid wire. Synergic or pulse. Carbon or stainless.
      Tig/Tag, stick, fluxcore and sub-arc only.

    @12:45, if there's too big a gap on one side, what you can do is get some tig wire or thin mig wire and instert a few small pieces all the way around the flange while you do your tacks. This way the flange is spaced evenly on all 360 degrees

    • @ARCONEWELDING
      @ARCONEWELDING  Před rokem +1

      Yeah ive tried that way b4 too, i find they shift all over the place, the tacks are basically the same thing

  • @stefinstein3739
    @stefinstein3739 Před rokem +3

    Love the videos, I have some ideas that will make your job faster, easier, and more accurate!
    Learn “pipe fitting parallel line development”, you will never have to do any guess work again with any branches or offset connections. No books, no charts, no dependencies. You just measure the pipe in front of you and it’s always a perfect fit up. Also, if you cut it out with a torch you can bevel and cut all in one. This ends up being very efficient with your man hours.
    Practice your torch skills whenever you can and keep it cleaner than anything else in the shop especially the tips. Nice torches with nice cuts = less grinding = less man hours = more money
    Get yourself some actual trade specific tooling like a pipe centre finder and some proper tapered flange pins. Theres a couple good companies here in North America that make these they are called “flange wizard” “curvomark”. Not sure what you have across the pond.
    Then last little tid bit I have for you is what I call a “pipe ruler”. Get a straight length of 3”x3”x1/8” (75x75x3) angle iron and slap it on the pipe. With both legs down and touching the pipe you can use the edge of the angle iron to draw a perfectly straight line down the pipe. This works very well with a centre finder punch mark which if your line rubs off you have a permanent mark at DTC to reference. Don’t scrape your precision level across the top of the pipe😢
    Cool videos man, it’s interesting to see the differences in work flow across the pond. 😊

    next time put a 3 legged jack stand under your flange to get your gap right all around. that way all you'll need to do is wedge it on the sides only.

    Look into tapered flange alignment tool, two cones that you screw together in the bolt holes to put a level on. Anyone handy on a lathe can knock up a set of 4 in 20 minutes, these days you can get them on ebay.
    I made some for a pipe welder 20 years ago and our paths crossed last year, while he was chatting with me he turned to one of his coworkers and said I made them for him, he was using them on the spool he was doing.

    I had the pleasure recently of working with a company that use the metric system and it was a bit confusing for me because I was taught during weld school and in my own shop to use imperial system 😅

  • @sackvilleweldingservices

    Hello young man, I would recommend you get a Curv-O-Mark wrap around. There are several sizes and it will give you the increments to mark on the pipe for you to "join the dots" for marking out fish mouthing pipes. Also, buy their pipe centre finder and marking out tools.
    Not cheap but the quality is great.
    Please change out your cutting nozzle on your torch. It's got either damaged sealing faces or dirt or the torch is damaged. You are running the risk of a flash back in the torch which could result in the torch burning out as fire gets trapped in it or worse still a fatal explosion if you don't use flash back arrestors to stop that flame reaching the bottles.
    Also, a torch is not a hammer for knocking out or knocking off offcuts as you make them. This in turn risks damage to the nozzle and torch.
    Curious as to why you use pulse Mig on the cap? I would only use pulse where l need to keep the heat down in the metal. A cap is the last as you know but l am willing to learn a new trick if there is one!
    Wedges and Strong Hand switchable magnet's are use for holding stuff in position. The latter is available in different power ratings for weight of steel parts.

      @@ARCONEWELDING it locked after you did a firmware update?? shouldn't do that.. yeah it takes some experimentation but when its tuned in you can do a pulse mig run quicker than normal without compromising penetration profiles. Have you used your 50hr trial license on the machine? if you activate it then it will allow PMC, LSC and CMT (if you have the cmt torch) to be used on the machine for 50 hours arc on time so you can see if you want to pay for it or not.
