Fun idea for a thread: modern support for old archetypes that reads like it should have been printed in their first wave. It will always baffle me that Servant of Endymion and Rogue of Endymion were printed at the same time, and I have to know what other archetypes suffered from this
Judge of the Ice Barrier has the utility of a card printed in 2002. How it came out in BLVO baffles me.

Not exactly legacy support, it really doesn’t make any sense that P.U.N.K. Deer Note wasn’t in the first wave. Because it’s the only level 5 in the deck, and so much of the deck literally doesn’t do anything if there isn’t a level 5 to go into.
Thrust means I can search any Paleo in my deck, but if I grab Needlebug Nest, I could potentially send 5 Paleos for the price of one (two) card(s)! What a bargain!

Final Destiny is the objectively correct answer. If you go -8 when they Ash you and you wipe their board, the psychic damage they receive will be apocalyptic.
Triple Tactic! It's...fine. Triple Tactic, not to be confused with Triple Tactics Talent, is a new Spell Card printed in Photon Hypernova. If your opponent's activated a monster effect this turn, this card allows you to set any Spell/Trap from your Deck, or if your opponent controls a monster, add it to your hand. That's right, this card searches ANY Spell or Trap. Cue the YugiTubers claiming the sky is falling. Now, it certainly SEEMS busted; going 1st, it can turn an opponent's hand trap into Sanctum, and going 2nd, it can grab you Terraforming for the best card in the game (Dire, put up Mystic Mine). BUT, I think it's got some weaknesses preventing it from being a staple 3-of in every deck.
First, your opponent has to have enough monsters so that it'll be live, but not SO many that they can negate...exactly 2 things. Second, it competes for space with other board breakers. I think it's part of a larger design goal in Yu-Gi-Oh: to give players options for going 2nd blowouts that still have utility going 1st. No one likes to win a die roll just to see a hand full of Dark Ruler and Mystic Mine, but Triple Tac, Talents, Droplet, and Super Poly both help break boards going 2nd and do a reasonable impression of Called by the Grave going 1st. That's why I think...

Not to worry, ever since the rule update this card has been completely worthless. There is literally no game state where every part of the effect can resolve, so the card is pretty much impossible to legally activate anymore.
@@nattapakniranittikul cant legally activate it with a ss floodgate out anymore. If you cant special summon AT ALL, even if the part of the effect is unclear on wether the card will summon or not on resolution, you cannot activate it. This I have been able to check in Master Duel with Crystal Abundance, a card with VERY similar ruling problems to Last Turn.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912This is why you activate Last Turn when it is legal and then chain a Call of the Haunted effect to put a SS floodgate on board before Last Turn resolves.

Wrong, wrong, all wrong! There’s a clear answer, it’s Pineapple Blast.
You set this trap and then on your next turn when you normal summon, you activate Pinapple Blast to force your opponent to destroy their monsters so that they control the same number of monsters as you!
It’s basically evenly matched that activates before the battle phase!

7:30 except by the fact that Mikanko monsters have a built in protection to destroying effects when they are equipped to an equip card
Not the monsters, the equip spells protect their equiped monster from effect destruction, with the sole exception of "Reflection rondo".
The monsters only negate battle damage to you, with an equip card they reflect battle damage and become indestructible by battle. With the exception of Ohime and Arahime that do not need an attached equip spell to do that.

I've got a couple from playing Mikanko:
-Hidden Armory to get the equips including Double-Edged Sword
-Preparation of Rites after the 1st one got Ash'd
-And funniest of all: Threatening Roar for post side and don't know if I'll be made to go first as the card was good going 1st and 2nd given its applications in the deck (you essentially turn skip an opponent like with D-Barrier with the goal of killing them on the crackback, but get the luxury of them putting cards on the board for you to Kaiju away, it prevents attacks so you don't have to worry about Zeus and because it's *Threatening Roar* you don't have to worry about decks on Crossout stopping it compared to D-Barrier).
Do love how the Oni gami combo does not work because Oni requires that it targets the face up XYZ while the gimmick puppet has targeting protection. Would be funny if it worked though!

7:30 LOL NO it's not, it's actually terrible. Because, Mikanko equip spells (with the exception of rondo) protect the monster they are equiped to from effect destruction. Good job doing exactly nothing to a Mikanko field, except potentially freeing up reflection rondo for them.

The combo implied at 1:57 doesn't work lmao. Chaos Leo cant be targeted by ANY card effects. So its materials cant be forcibly detached.

Though it does work if you use Oni-Gami on *regular* 88, rank up, then detach from C88 for the burn effect.

I can't say since my best plays are not through normal spells and traps, so I traded in mine for store credit before the ots reprint announcement, along with 3 talent and 6 prosperity, don't regret thing, everyone salty about my choices can just cope.
