Even though I'm not interested in this particular lens, I gotta say, your reviews are the best!
Great review, and when completely in context, I think that lens is shockingly good. When I compare my vintage FL 55mm f/1.2 and the 7Artisans 50mm f/1.05, I don't think either retain anything like the sharpness and contrast that this does wide open.
Obviously, this is a very different focal length - but I'm seeing such improvements year to year in these Chinese lenses - it's wonderful - almost alarming!
Viltrox 75/1.2 APSC AF is truly "alarming", 13/1.4, 16/1.8(FF),27/1.2 are "earthquakes"!😊😊😊
This could become classics.
So in conclusion, the 16mm is the best, then 75mm, and then 24mm for these Sirui MF lenses. Could make a nice kit honestly! I do wish that 55mm lens was sharper cause 75mm on APSC is already fairly tight. Thanks for the reviews Chris!!
That's my own conclusion 🙂
My favorite lens on micro 4/3 is a 75mm. You get used to staying a few steps farther back pretty quickly.
I would say simply because of warn colour cast and a classic focal length the 35mm would just beat the 24mm
At 4:40, astigmatism can only be present off-axis, so seeing as you are showing the on-axis performance you can not be seeing any astigmatism.
It just looks like SA to me, which is shown to be even greater at closer focal distances.
I was expecting the review of the Nikon 35mm 1.4, and curious to know how it compares to the Sigma 35mm DG DN
How does the Sigma 8-16mm compare to these new Sirui lenses, in terms of sharpness and being special? 😊
What about sniper series 75 and 16mm f1.2 AF lenses? Will you test them too?
They share the same glass as the nightwalkers - the test results would be identical in terms of IQ. He could show the autofocus performance of them though
I wish it was full frame 😅 hopefully they’ll give us something in the future
Wish they made them for FF honestly
Yeah, about that... 😅
Is the new Sirui sniper 75mm f1.2 like this, optically?
That's what I'll be finding out over the next few weeks :-)
Yes, it’s the same glass
Viltrox 75mm 1.2 all day its way better
You compare it to a manual lens? 😂
prolly' first!
For me the bokeh is too janky, some of the intro shots began to give me a migraine.
I don't like the bokeh on this lens.
2nd again....
Terrible focus shift at close range.
Also, it was very merciful not to test the lens for coma.
