- Knuckles' Emerald Hunt is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 that, as its name indicates, focuses entirely on Knuckles hunting for Emeralds through all the Zones of Sonic 2 (excluding Sky Chase and Death Egg), along with a few extra levels. Made by MainMemory.

this is amazing, I really wish we had a 2d Sonic that had knuckles play like this. only thing I can think to improve is maybe requiring the player to get to the end of the stage after finding the emeralds and adding a digging mechanic similar to colors.
One of the best and most creative Sonic hacks. The new version is even better, you can play as Tikal and it has more Sonic Adventure, Sonic CD, Sonic Advance and Sonic Heores custom music in 16 bit!!
I Like how Labyrinth Zone is based off the final act of Scrap Brain Zone.
no, scrap brain zone act 3, was going to have its own tileset, but due to space and time constraints, act 3 had to use labyrinth zone's tileset.
Isn't SBZ3 a literal palette swap of Labyrinth?

I like hack like this that modify the gameplay...and this is so accurate to his Adventure gameplay!
Somethign odd though, is the emerald radar sound ounds like the one from Adventure (and ISN'T a sample), as does allowing you to see all three emeralds' closeness, but the text that briefly appears when he picks up an emerald is from Adventure 2...

Knuckles is a great treasure hunter! Man.. I wish they can put him in the Smash Bros. Wii-U and 3Ds. It would be a lot cooler and a lot more challenging!!!

I wish someone uploads the emerald shard sprites from this game (as seen on the Hidden Palace Zone level).
Kind of defeats the purpose considering that most of these levels are fairly linear.
