  • Dawless Beatmaking creating a Funk Pop/Soul beat. No Sampler just funking it up with the Roland MC 505. Kinda has some hints of Daft Punk and Stardust and Deee-Lite all mixed together.
I call this one "Morning Boogie"

Enjoyed that, Does the MC505 have ratchets? (perhaps its too old to have that feature). Hope to see more of these great little vids you do :)

I don't think so. Only thing I could think of is using the arpeggiator at a very high subdivision to get that effect.

From what I remember it kiiiind of has ratchets in the sense that you can change up the speed/scale of the sequencer. So you can program something in 16th notes and change it to 32nd to 'add ratchets' in between the notes.... if that makes sense. I can't think of the proper way to word it and it has been well over 10 years since I used one. If you go to about 18 minutes in this video you can see what I mean czcams.com/video/n-PsmQxuXH8/video.html (If I remember correctly you can also do it for musical notes too, not just drums).
