What I dig most about your chronicles, Darwin, is your realistic approach to hiking. You're not hiking ridiculous miles daily as I see with some others here on CZcams. I just don't see how pushing your body to aggressively hike 30-40 miles a day gives you any opportunity whatsoever to actually take in, or absorb the visual beauty of the experience. I understand long distance hiking in regard to a physical sport, but, in my opinion if you're hiking 40 miles a day you're more focused on milage than the experience? I guess people have different perspectives on it. Anyway, I prefer your philosophy on distance hiking, personally. Keep on truckin'. Love the vids; thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words Stevie! I think there is a time and place for hiking big miles as well as slowing down and being in the hike. It def depends on what type of day it is, what the scenery is, & what type of hike it is.... Thanks for Watching!
      Hike On,

That oasis at 17:00 looks like a danger spot for flash floods. I would personally have pitched my tent up high on the side of that ravine, unless I was sleeping on a raft. Lol.
Do you think that dead rat could have caused issues after filtering the water?

MAKE SURE YOU ZIP YOUR TENT CLOSED BECAUSE OF POISONOUS SNAKES , LIZARDS & ALOT OF DIFFERENT ANIMALS OUT THAT WAY. BE SAFE! HAVE FUN! SMILE! GOD COUNTRY! ENJOY! OUTSTANDING BEAUTY! GORGEOUS PICS & VIDEOS! GOD IS WITH YOU ALWAYS! THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAG ALONG WITH YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY! AWESOME!

Coodos to those who maintain it more often

Loved this! Personally, I don't mind the wind noise. Yours was minimal. I think it makes you feel more like you are there. The wind is noisy in one's ears if we were there in person. Same dif. That camping spot did look fantastic. Thanks for taking us along. On to part two!

Reminds me alot of So Cal. You'll have some of that on the pct. The year you plan on doing it will be drier than 2017 but no where near at least 6 years prior to '17. Idylwild to Big Bear is a roller coaster. Water, water, water.

Darwin, love yer videos! Have you ever rock climbed? It seems like something you’d get hooked on. I got bit by the climber bug about a year ago, and it really added a whole new element to my backpacking adventures man.
There’s even an advanced technique you may dig as a regular solo traveler, it’s called rope soloing. It allows you to climb safely with a rope, by yourself. Badass 🤙
