    The way the defence backed off for the first Cyprus chance just wouldn’t happen now.
    Greg Taylor was brilliant for the second.

    Should have been a draw folks.
    Christie was on fire and debutant Declan Gallagher looked impressive but hard luck to the hosts, got to be honest.

    Enjoyed the game. Thought both teams made it exciting. Fair played to Cyprus. Defense is still weak. We need one or two from the 21's or a re-scour of the talent base. Porteus, Barry Maguire , Clark Robertson or someone might just finish things off nicely. One or two short from turning a 1-2 into a 0-4. Still needing one in midfield and a left footed defender, and if not, a ball-playing centre back that's got pace.

    Good result, realistcally Scotland would struggle to finish above Russia or Belgium, so for Scotland to have 3rd place comfortably back in their hands, with 1 game to go, after the poor start, is pretty good, McLeish was a good player and manager, but his econd go was not as good as his first go with Scotland, So ket's hope Clarke has Scotland back up there. In terms of Cyprus not getting that goal, well these things happen, missed penalty appeals, and all sorts occur like that. Scotland won, and that is what counts. Beat the Kazakhs and show Scotland are still a country at the very worst, on the verge of qualification for tourneys. Get 3rd place, it matters. though revenge v the Kazaks matters more. good folks though they are.

    the pressure on the manager to include players like jack and naismith is exactly why scotland will never progress

    • @scott7464
      @scott7464 Před 4 lety +4

      ohmybobross To be fair, Jack is probably the most in form centre mid in Scotland right now. Unfair to say he didn’t deserve to be included. Naismith, maybe, due to the fact he’s been out through injury but it was his 50th cap I think, which is a big deal because I’m sure that gains you entry into the Scottish football hall of fame. Scotland are also really light in the striker department.

    • @johnmccaughey2722
      @johnmccaughey2722 Před 4 lety

      Lots of injuries and call offs was why Ryan jack started, tbf he's played well for rangers this season but if mctominay was available he wouldn't have started.

    • @scott7464
      @scott7464 Před 4 lety +2

      John Mccaughey I think you’re right, McTominay probably would have started but why? Because he plays for Man Utd? Sheffield Utd are 2 places higher in the Premier League than Man Utd, so you could argue that John Fleck should be starting no? If you base team selection on form, which in my opinion it should be. Do you think McTominay will be a Man Utd regular in 1 or 2 transfer windows time, when you’d expect they’d improve their squad? I’m not so sure. All about opinions though and everyone is welcome to theirs of course.

    • @DJHaston
      @DJHaston Před 4 lety

      Jack and Naismith both played well though, so I don't really see the point you're making. Naismith has better leadership qualities on the pitch than Robertson, constantly talking to players and sorting them out, he should be captain. Also, I don't see why it needs to be McTominay or Jack, I'd play them both. I think having those two as the deep lying midfielders would be our strongest option. McTominay will absolutely be in Man Utd's first team in the future, he has been voted their player of the month for the last 2 months consecutively, and their fans are calling for him to be captain. He's been in great form before he got injured.

    Typical. Basically there is no pride to play for Scotland anymore but this is not just a Scottish problem. It has been evident for many years not only in Scotland but Wales and Ryan Giggs and Gareth Bale are also examples of players not really interested in playing for their country.
