Huge school of fish seen near shore at Ala Moana Beach Park

Beachgoers were seen swimming through the school and dozens gathered near to check it out, some paddle boarding across the top.

The darker color towards black is probably sardines. Halalu, or baby Akule is a lighter shade of green. Also, halalu and oama usually arrive in latter part of summer. Most times around July.

This might be a very dumb question to those who know but I just don't know & I want to know.
Do they not know a huge school of fish is there? I'd think the person who is in the middle of the school would know but, I don't know & doesn't huge schools of fish attract sharks? I'm guessing they're in the ocean but if they're not then no worries.
