Ronaldo and Messi deserve way more credit than they get on these list. Just think about that

Who cares
But it’s fütbol
Each sport has 1. Why you think soccer demands 2 is laughable. The fact there’s 2 dudes that you think are equal is proof soccer doesn’t have a top 10 dominant player for this list.
But it has to be one person, messi and cr7 are cancelling each other out, 2 equal dominance is not true 1 dominance.

This is a list of the last 20 years only bro
Colin was saying gretzky wasn't as dominant as messi , he most definitely was
TheJakeman91 not even close. Competition messi competes against for the title of the best vs what Gretzky faced... It's not close. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world
thats what i dont like about this list..you could and should absolutely make a case for Gretzky. He has only played 2 seasons in the past 20 years, but Bonds hasnt been around in the last dozen years and Tiger has been awful for the last decade. If you make a 1988-2008 list then Bonds, Tiger and Gretzky should all be on the list. I'm sorry, if you havent been relevant for half of the years, you shouldnt be on here. Bonds would be #1 if it were dominance from 00-04, but how much clout do you have when you were dominant for 1/4 of the years its talking about? When i think 98-2018 (in no particular order) I think Brady(2000-present), Lebron(03-present), Phelps(00-present), Serena(02-present), Federer(03-present). Those 5, for me, are the ones i think about for the better part of 2 decades. 20 years of "dominance" is such a long stretch. should really be a decade by decade thing

Yeah but Ronaldo's been having and year. Messi nearly doubled his scoring and assist ratio and scored 7 freekicks to cr7 0
Ronaldo is a pure goal scorer, that's it. He can't do anything else, and Messi is still a better goal scorer. Messi isn't just the best goal scorer, he's the best playmaker, dribbler, assister, passer, most intelligent, he doesn't cheat or dive, he doesn't show frustration, and most importantly he's humble. my thoughts exactly
And Floyd also did lose a couple fights. It’s just that boxing is corrupt
@@wiserise1393 you're delusional
Mr. Golstein *stupid
To be fair, the reason Bolt and Phelps are able to be claim GOAT status in their respective sports so definitively is because their sports are races and are entirely based on timed scores. You can simply look at their times and see that they are faster than the times of everyone in history, proving them to be the fastest (and therefore best). With Floyd, we can never know definitively whether or not he would beat, say, Muhammad Ali if they both fought in their primes, because unlike swimming and sprinting, you can't simply compare their times. Additionally, they were in different weight classes, so it's even harder to evaluate them based on their physical tools when they were fighting against different competition (we use the term "pound-for-pound", but even then, it's difficult to evaluate). Floyd completely and utterly dominated all of the competition he could have possibly been faced with throughout his career, and although we can always speculate about the legends of the past, Floyd had basically the closest thing to a perfect professional sports career that is humanly possible. In my personal opinion, it's hard to evaluate the dominance of any of these three against one another, simply because they each had such long stretches during which nobody could possibly beat them whatsoever. He went with Floyd because he continued to win after ascending from his prime and gracefully eased into retirement without ever losing, which Phelps and Bolt did not, which is valid. You can make a case for any of them though
It was refreshing to talk about all of these different sports and players. Football and basketball are the best but it's pretty exhausting analyzing every aspect of lebrons life. It would be interesting to to hear Colin's opinion on tennis

To answer his question if Serena has had any competition, she doesn’t. That’s why roger Federer is much greater, he’s been in an era with all time greats and still has more dominating records than Serena
The Midget Men play against men and the women play against.Theres as much competition on the womens side as the mens side. You're comment shows your ignorance.

But hes talking about dominance... she dominates the woman league more then Roger dominates the man's league, therefore shes more dominant. How can you not get it? Of course Roger is better, but he doesnt dominate his opponents not even as close as she dominates her opponents
It's a list of how far above their competition they are though. Serena is way further above her nearest competition than Federer. That's what dominant means.
Serena has dominated her sport better than anyone. That is the point of this list.

I actually really like Colin’s list, definitely like it better than ESPN’s. I would put Federer ahead of Serena and replace Bonds with Sidney Crosby or Peyton Manning tho
sds606 Serena has been more dominant within women's tennis than Fed has been within men's tennis. Plus she has more slams, more Olympic golds, more French Open wins and has dominated both singles AND doubles tennis whereas Fed barely plays doubles. Not to mention Serena has won slams from 17 through her mid 30s whereas Fed didn't win his first slam until 21 (and Serena is about 2 months younger). I love both Serena and Fed but Serena has a better case for dominance.
NYCzora
Federer has had to deal with two other top 10 tennis players of all time in Novak and Nadal. There’s much more competition in the men’s side. Name me the all time great that Serena had to play against yet she only has 3 more slams than Federer
sds606 you’re ignoring doubles. Serena has 3 gold medals and 16 doubles slams. Colin included that and that’s why helped her get in front of Roger.
This is about dominance and not level of competition. If not For Serena Venus would have 14+ slams. Sharapova would probably have around 8+. Serena doesn’t have a top rival like Nadal or Novak because every time one with the potential to be great came along she usually quickly proved she was better.
Eric Thomas
If not for Nadal, the second greatest player of all time, and undeniably the greatest on Clay (only lost a grand total of 2 times at the French Open in 13 years), Federer may have close to 30 slams, and that’s a conservative estimate.
By the way, Federer has been at the top of grand slams that have a best of five instead of a best of three. Meaning that Men’s matches could last up to five and half hours, whereas Women’s matches are not even half of that amount.
Clearly, the Men’s tour is far more demanding, and Federer has stayed at the top for the past 15 years.
Barry Bonds has five more Mvps than Sidney Crosby. He had no right to win the Con Smythe in 2016. Kessel not only led the squad in points as well as elevating them to being a back to back stanley cup team, but on top of that Sidney Crosby was a minus throughout the playoffs. He is nowhere near as dominant
“Went into UFC?” 😂😂😂😂

Most winning winter olympian of all time. She had a baby at like 35, came back, and still beat everyone else. And she is probably one of the best physically trained athletes ever.

@@tpsam there are 2 teams who are in La Liga who are the best 2 in the world. But that doesn't make it the best league. The overall quality of play in the Premier League and arguably even the Bundesliga as well is much higher.
His Top 3 is perfect. May , Bolt , Phelps have dominated sports. Really the entire top 5 is perfect amazing athletes
Jordan left Chicago after disagreement with ownership. He won 3 titles after father passed. Curry should be on list. Changed how a game is played.
Curry has not yet played long enough
I still don't get why they put a player from team sports on the Athlete of all time list, Imeam team sports right?? helping each other ... the athlete of all time should be the individual sports like BOXING MMA KARATE JUDO TENNIS etc ... boxers say it's just you and me on the canvas (not including the referee).
where is michael schumacher??
ded
Driver ain't athlete. lol
r u kidding me??f1 drivers are athletes too.there is no other sport as physically demanding as f1.drivers need a unique combination of power, aerobic fitness and mental strength to handle speeds of more than 200mph and forces of more than 5G for 90 minutes at a time
King Bae You're an idiot.
Michael would’ve been in the top 10 if it wasn’t for his 1 podium in three years for Mercedes.
For all the LeBron-riding and divorce analogies, these are the segments that remind me why I watch this guy.
Ifeanyi Akunna gotta love his divorce analogies 😂😂
The fact kobe ain’t too 3 is absurd
Lebron over Tim Duncan? Last 20 years? 1998-2018?
Jordan won in 98. Then retired.
Lebron won 2012, 2013, 2016.
Tim won 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014.
Tim has also has no idea what not making the playoffs is.
Who's more dominant?
Making the playoffs isn’t really dominance, you have to dominate in the playoffs and nobody has done that better than LeBron James in the past 20 years.
Take this 'W,' Colin. First time I've ever liked one of your videos.
Mario Lee Well said and you are right.
Wayne Gretzky literally has double the amount of points as the second guy does on the all time scoring list
Wheelee19 If you take out his goals, he’s still 1st in points all time, obviously doesn’t know the most dominant athlete ever in big 4
Wheelee19 Gretzky is excluded and so is Jordan due to their body of work being pre 1998. It’s the most dominant athletes of the past 20 years not all time
Samuel Hsu true my bad
Ovechkin Will score 895 Career goals beating Gretzky's Record and then Gretzky is out The top 1000 athletes list
Kobe Bryant (dominant from 2000-2014, and played until 2016)
To be honest, the way you know this list is a joke is that Djokovic is on the list instead of Nadal.
Julian Beckwith to be fair, Djokovic had a stretch that was just as dominant as Federer was in 03-10. Nadal was dominant, but not for a 5+ years stretch. BUT, Nadal should be on there and at least top 10
Sammy Al Hashemi djokovic as dominant as federer was??? Are u serious??
Disclaimer: *I'm a HUGE Federer Fan - I think he's the greatest athlete ever*
I started watching tennis in 2002. I was six when Federer came around and I instantly became a fan. I rolled with Federer through all his high years and all his lows (2013...*shudder*). During that stretch, Federer won almost everything there was to be won. There was a period of time that I started to think if Federer didn't at least win 3 slams in a year, it was a down year for him. Then Djokovic took over in 2011 (a lot of that had to do with Fed's age - he couldn't dominate the way he used to because of the age factor, which is why he changed his game recently ever so slightly and started to dominate again- but nonetheless, Djokovic dominated. From 2011-2016 Djokovic went from 1 GS to 12GS (11 won). In 2003-2008, Federer went from 0GS to 13GS (13 won). During Djokovic's dominant time, he won about as many Masters 1000s as Fed did (granted, Federer played a lot of best of 5's that Novak didn't). To me, this is an actively comparable stretch of dominance. Just like Federer had his peak where I felt he would never lose, Djokovic had the same thing.
Sammy - understood about Djokovic having a great run. But within the last 20 years, Nadal is ahead of him in Slam Titles and Career Titles. I think that's all the needs to be said.
Julian Beckwith
Yes, Djokovic from 2011-2016 was by far the best player in the world.
Nadal’s never been able to solely dominate an era like Djokovic or Federer.
Yes, Nadal does have more grand slams than Djokovic, but it is undeniable that Djokovic’s peak is greater than Nadal’s peak. Additionally, Nadal is dominant on Clay, whereas Djokovic is outstanding on all three surfaces. He’s the only man (this includes both Federer and Nadal) since 1969 to win 4 consecutive grand slams between 2015-16.
I highly agree with Colin's list, at least until you get to the team sports players, Brady has more SB wins than any soccer player with Champions Leagues or basketball player with finals in the past 20 years, and Ronaldo should absolutely have a spot at 10.
It ist definitely easier to win the SB than the CL... and the patriots are the only consistently good team in the AFC east over the past 20 years so they come to the play offs every year.
Agree with you
Doesn’t have more Chips thank Kobe, and winning a champions league is wayyyyyy harder
Also Messi and Ronaldo are 10 and 8 years younger and only have 1 championship less than brady, so theres a high chance they will catch up
Winnin a CL is way harder than winning the SB. Being consistent in team soccer is almost imposible at a European level. What Messi and Ronaldo have done is almost imposible, it is unheard of since the 50s and Di Stefano. We wont see anything like it for many many years.

As a huge Roger & Messi fan, the list now should include Rafa and maybe Novak as well as Christiano for sure
ESPN Is TOTAL GARBAGE!!!!!!
Where Is KOBE BRYANT's Name?
He’s overrated
I would argue Tim Duncan was more dominant than Kobe 🤷♂️
Santiago Molina I would argue that Tim Duncan has always had a better supporting cast than Kobe
GLOBAL SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION RADIO & MEDIA GROUP Shaq > Kobe
@@chandlerberry5529 I would argue that Harden should be on their too if throwing up 50 shots a night is the most dominant in all of sports
Floyd didnt go to the UFC and Floyd didnt fight the UFCs best fighter but okay
Pasqu4le who cares. He's 50-0. Deal with it
Never said he wasnt but Im pointing out generalities in Colins statement. Floyd is great im not debating that
Pasqu4le, get outta here with your facts
Ronaldo number 14 😳😂😂
I love when Collin says the number six
Pretty accurate but I’d say it’s insulting to football (soccer) fans everywhere to only have Messi 8th and Ronaldo not even in the top 10. Bonds over CR7 is a disgrace hahaha, how can you win 5 ballon D’ors and not be in the top 10 of all time??
Michael Bargh Fair point.
Soccer players are not athletes, they are not athletic like Bolt, Serena or Lebron. There is nothing athletic about Messi, maaaybe about CR but nothing to mention on this list. And this comes from a European.
1.Mayweather (Greatest Boxer Ever)
2. Michael Phelps (Human Fish)
3. Bolt (Fastest human ever)
4. Serena Williams (Won an Open while pregnant)
5. Federer (Greatest Tennis Player Ever)
6. Lionel Messi (Greatest Footballer Ever)
7. Tiger Woods (Made people watch Golf)
8. LeBron James (Destroys Franchises)
9. Tom Brady (Greatest QB Ever)
10. Bonds (7x NL MVP)
it's last 20 years
Are you really gonna day that Floyd is the greatest boxer ever? REALLY FAM?!
you are correct. Have to go with Bonds then no question...
Pound for Pound, yes he is the greatest.
Mayweather is 50-0. I don't like him at all, but he's 50-0 !!
1:56 number 3 is Michael Phelps he’s a human fish😂😂😂
6:51 Cowherd's arrogance in a nutshell
I would almost say Phelps is number 1 because he has literally done it for 20 years.. 5 different Olympics, 4 years apart.. The Longevity is like LeBron but he just can't be beat it seems. Was amazing seeing him win gold last Olympics!
Inside The Stands I think it's cos he lost a fair amount of times as well. I remember in 2012 he didn't medal for one of the events. Mayweather never lost so he gets the edge
Top 3 is undeabatable but you can move them i feel like, all 3 of them deserves the n1 spot to be honest.
No. 2 and 3 can be swapped but you cant swap Floyd. He is literally the best boxer of the past 20 years. He has not lost once! Michael and Usain lost
Conquering Lion Usain lost to a disqualification he would have easily won the race
20 years?
Switch Bonds to Cristiano Ronaldo and you have a good list.
I agree
Tough call to leave Ronaldo off, but you cannot take Barry Bonds off this list. Barry Bonds at his hottest was the most terrifying batter in the history of the game. Just simply unstoppable, so they walked him.
Sidney Crosby or Peyton Manning ahead of bonds IMO
Solovox steroids cough cough
Bonds was a beast but... yeah... it's hard to argue with Ronaldo. Good call
No ones gonna talk about Barry Bonds not being top 5? Dude won 4 MVPs in a row and had pitchers scared to even throw to him like we’ve never seen in baseball 🤔
I would change the ordering a little but I would put the exact same 10 athletes in my top 10
Solid list
