TeapotOne LIVE Your Life - Motorcycle Around The World is the story of Bruce Smart's epic 74,000 miles, 54 countries in 442 days, solo & unsupported around the world by motorcycle adventure, to keep a promise.
From 1st October 2012 to 14th June 2014, Bruce Smart rode a Suzuki GSX-R1000 74,000 miles around the world, solo and unsupported, through 54 countries to keep a promise he made his mum before she lost her battle with cancer. There were ups, there were downs, highs and lows, but one aspect shone through, the overwhelming friendship and support shown from almost everybody he met around the world.
From Europe to South East Asia, Russia to Australasia, South America to the USA and Canada, almost everybody he met opened their lives and homes to a complete stranger, and the journey grew and grew.
The entire RTW adventure was caught on film, from issues with motorcycle shipping, to the most dangerous road traveled, this travel blog, or travel vlog, is a documentary you just can't miss.

The 7th episode in the TeapotOne.com series see's me in Moscow, discovering the city's delights, getting the beast serviced at the incredible 'Mudfactory.ru' and sampling a Depeche Mode concert with crazy Russians!
From Moscow I head East, through Kazan, Ufa, and Chelyabinsk, before the subframe snaps for the 3rd time outside Ishim. I'm rescued by some crazy Russian bikers, and picked up by their support van, driven by the legendary Gennady Shatov, the 1st Russian to ride solo around the world!
Who says it's just another bike trip?
Music in this episode is by:
AlbaRoma: Balkan Blues ( albaroma)
Суп-Харчо - Куба & Эта Штука
(Karcho Soup - Cuba & This Stuck)
Check out other vids in the series on the 'TeapotOneVids' channel, visit the website at www.teapotone.com, or stop by at the facebook and twitter feeds.
Cheers for now and standby for the next episode as I travel East and South to Mongolia, on the way to Vladivostok.

Depeche Mode in Russia! Wow! That was unexpected! But now we all know the real meaning of the Teapot name! 🤣
That's awesome that you found a great place to get the bike serviced.
Shame about the sub-frame again, but how good is the biking community when it comes to helping out other riders! It's great to finally get the time to watch this after hearing about this part of your trip on the podcast. 👍
Bruce, being a relatively new subscriber I’m loving this series. It’s so personal. It’s such a shame 10 years on Ukraine and Russia are at war. Good people in both countries. It’s not what either population wants. Madness.
Hey Bruce,
l'm late to the round the world trip, but onto it now. The Architecture and the people in Russia you were with were amazing. An Amazing place and People. Seen a bit of your newer stuff and like what ur doin. Keep goin fella, and live your life.
👏👍💞🌞🍻
Cool! I like point of viem foreign people on my country. They see some details, which you do not see, because you see it every day.
at 26:08 me, in a yellow windbreaker, and my bike. )))
Hello Bruce. My congratulations!
Ha Ha, great stuff my friend!
Moscow does sound rather amazing.. Will put it on the to do list :-)
I can’t recommend Russia enough mate, the people are so friendly and helpful (if they like you), it’s the polar opposite of what you’d expect.
Hi Boris,
I’d absolutely LOVE to come back to Russia my friend, just a matter of getting time off work and saving up the money!
Be great to meet you if/when I get back over there 👍
Awesome, much appreciated, thank you 👍
👍🤟
I’m a new subscriber and am watching your round the world trip and thoroughly enjoying it.
Great stuff Dave, welcome to the channel and glad to hear you’re enjoying it 👍
This series is slowly restoring my faith in humanity. What generosity and luck you came across. Amazing. What an adventure :-)
Thanks Steve, yeah it was very refreshing to experience the very best of people - often in places you’d expect to see the complete opposite.
99.9% of people around the world are exactly the same - they just want to look after their friends and family, and will help anyone if they can 👍
Did the road to Ishim from Chelyabinsk last year on my bonneville. Bumpy, potholed, wavy, prob the worst of the road to Vladivostok. Fortunately I didn't break anything but its not a surprise if you do!
Excellent, just go for it bud, you only get one chance in life - as far as we know ;-)
Totally agree with what you're saying, I really hope this feeling/openess to strangers doesn't dissipate when I get home, I too plan to be as welcoming to others as everyone has been to me. Really does open your eyes mate, I'm loving it.
My God it really gives you faith in humanity well at least bikers. So good to see that the spirit carries on where ever you go. Had a tear in my eye just watching this.
Thanks Stephen 👍
Had this vid on the phone in the truck (face down not watching just listening obviously) whilst driving along, bloody hell if I didn’t end up in Moscow!! 🤣😎
Great stuff Bruce, I think your right in what you say about folk in Russia. Mostly from what I hear most people around the world are very friendly and helpful despite what the media would have us believe. I'm glad you experienced good hospitality from the Russian folk. They did a fantastic job on fixing your bike up and taking care of you. Well impressed...! Fantastic series well enjoyable to watch
Love this adventure!
+James Wilday Thanks bud, glad you're enjoying it! 👍
bloody subframe again!!! To many pies haha, great to see Bikers are bikers no matter the country and helped you out, amazing!
Ha, yeah I don’t think it helped things having 17 stone of Scottish lard sitting on it, but I’m sure that particular bike wasn’t right.
I’ve owned 5 GSX-R’s and never had a single issue with the subframe.
This one went through 4 of them, once it broke a brand new one as I left the M1 on way to a track day at Donnigton?
Loving this series!!
Thanks very much, glad you’re enjoying it 👍
Good you did it back then nowadays does not look too good for a trip like this 😞
There are still lots of people travelling all over the world, through many countries the media will tell you are dangerous.
If you want to travel, then travel - there is always a way
@@teapotone yes sure but what I meant is especially this part which can be a bit complicated right now....
Yep absolutely 👍
Luigi - Thanks bud, be great to meet you too and glad you're enjoying following the trip.
Reckon I should be in Florida by end of March/early April 2014.
Cheers
Another great video, Bruce, and the production is exceptional too - especially for a bloke on the road! .
To see Russia as it was then and to compare it with how it is in 2023 is insane. And on your previous episode how you visited Kiev and to think of how it looks now that it been bombarded to within an inch of its life is just desperate. I hope future generations will be able once again to make the journey you did.
Me too bud
brilliant.. 2 words bruce.....steel frame lol. really enjoying this
+Adam denhan 👍
You end up at Depeche Mode concert in Moscow while riding around the world, you couldn’t write this stuff even if you tried. Nice one bud 👍
Oh yeah and I forgot about the whiskey and cigars.
Ha Ha yes I did. The chap I met in Moscow got us tickets so i went along with him and his friends. Fantastic place 👍
I ended up in the Depeche Mode bar in Tallinn, Estonia once, bizarrely. My mate asked for some U2 and we nearly got thrown out! 😂😂 They love Depeche Mode out there.
😂👏👍
What a great journey mate! Can't wait to meet you! Fort Lauderdale, FL. Cheers!
Great video Bruce. Sounds like your being well looked after. Good luck on the next leg. I'll be tuning in.

Going to watch the Picos next as I want to go there in my next Euro trip, any recommendations for accommodation there?
That’s great to hear you’re enjoying the channel, and thank you for your support.
There are a few places I always try and get booked into on my trips, there’s Hotel Infantado in Ojedo, and Hostal Sainz in Riano. 👍
teapotone No worries dude. Cool thanks I'll bear them in mind 👍
Ha Ha, cheers Gordon. It'll be you soon bud!
Lucky basta×d loving the series... so when did you decide to keep the beard lol...
U must be honking big man 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Watching for the 10th time lol. What month did you start to ride accross russia we have a similar trip planned for 2020 to japan
Was around mid June and took me about 6 weeks I think
@@teapotonethanks man.
so far watched ep1~3 then it jumped out of Africa? back to UK? then into Norway into Russia - now the production video quality also suddenly improved in Russia? Did you buy a new camera in Russia mate?
No it was the same cameras the whole way until Oz, when I bought a new GoPro 3+ for the onboard stuff.
I filmed the whole trip on an iPhone 5 and small Nikon bridge camera.
where is episode 8 ?
TeapotOne RTW by Motorbike - Episode 8 Novosibirsk to Vladivostok
had to laugh at how many time you said the name wrong (cause I would have done the exact same thing). Even in editing when you are doing voice overlays, an its right on the back of the van, an still got it backwards.
Started to get worried that you were back in the mode of KM/DAY an not seeing the journey you were taking. After you left Ufa an next we see is Isham over 1000km away. Just as I had this thought Russia in its wisdom reached up and pulled you back to ground.
I am really hoping in the next episode I get to see some Russian engineering an fix that sub frame from its normal week design to something strong like mother Russia.
Blimey mate another sub frame drama...
Ha Ha aye there were a few
I've only just found your RTW trip, can't believe I missed it..bloody awesome so far. Can't stop watching it. Inspirational.
Thanks Bully, glad you’re enjoying it 👍
