Had my first sip over some rocks the other night at the pub. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavor. Definitely going to be my next bottle.
Woodford batches have distillate from both Woodford and Old Forester. The batches are not all from just Woodford Pot Stills. They include distillate from Brown Foreman distillery also.
I primarily get the oak, caramel and vanilla. I also get some bitter orange on the nose as well as a plum spirit (slivovitz) and a little bit of wintergreen.
I think it's nice and smooth neat drinking bourbon. Great for when i come home from the cold after a hard days work......I get a good stimulating satisfying BUZZ off it
Hmm. The Woodford Reserve I have, bought in California, is 45.2 ABV. Yours appears to be 43.2. Label Batch 4612, Bottle No. 3229. Still, your tasting notes are spot one.
I don’t think it’s all that sweet. It is more fruity (apple pear) with a nice cedar note to the nose, and a wonderful complex herbal rounded flavour profile.
I'm no whisky expert, but I wouldn't go as far as 'very' sweet. It's got a sweetness to it, but not on the same level as something like suntory toki. Personally I get a very clean oaky flavour, with a kind of spicy caramel flavour, maybe a little bit of citrus too. Its a very drinkable whisky, it's been my go to bourbon for a while now. I doubt anyone would be disappointed by it, I don't think it makes the best mixer, but straight or on the rocks it's among the best I've tried so far.
Like makers mark but more bourbon, deeper, it is scotch complex like makers mark, minus the malt/peat evidently. Weirdly you need to wait for the taste. Quite unique in Bourbon that dealy then the hit. Not sure how they did that. None of the variety or spice of buffalos eagles rare, no kick or every sip different like Turkey just has every sip the same. So smooth. The Irish pot still is evident. So consistent. Weaker on oak high in sweet, vanilla, Carmel. Fruit is subtle but there - mild sherry. Very good. Balanced perfectly.
"at least 51% corn, some malted barley and probably some rye as well" ???? you said it yourself in the distillery vid this was 72% corn,18% rye and 10% malted barley
hello, could you advise me where i can buy the tasting glass he is using in this video? I can't find it on any website. thank you very much and congratulations
You are a chip off the old block... You are a great reviewer like your father.
leuning ben leuning is a fucking legend

It is a Spicy whisky but the Vanilla overtone is very prominent. No complaisnts, very unique yet very, very nice.
Been drinking this since 2015. A employee at my local State Store in Phila, Pa. recommended this to me and its my go to drink on the weekend's
This is a good one. I know someone who drinks this one all the time so I’ve wanted to see a review for a while. Excellent job as always!

This is one of my favourite bourbons. Really good, refined and has very pleasant notes with some oakish bitterness.
It's a very good classic bourbon. I prefer Elijah Craig and Buffalo Trace/Eagle Rare in the same price range, though.
The double oaked from woodford is great. Love the flavors it gives off.
4:00 is the tasting
Thanks!
Definitely sweet. I tasted a vanilla- caramel flavor with spicy and oak finish. My favorite bourbon so far
I primarily get the oak, caramel and vanilla. I also get some bitter orange on the nose as well as a plum spirit (slivovitz) and a little bit of wintergreen.
I got 80% oak. New, shinny wood. 🥴
Put about 25ml in a cast iron with some butter and carrots/squash/cauliflower veg side, you wont regret it

18% of rye has doing good job in this burbon.. in UK tesco in offer for 20£ very often.. always in my cabinet
Great review! I agree and found a lot of spice that combined Wood Spice, Rye Spice and Chili Spice.
You sound just like your dad it's calming and awesome
Lovely shaped bottle. I sell the empty Bottles on Ebay and they sell well. And i use the money to buy more
I've heard good things about it. It's around 30 dollars here in Kentucky.
Yup, thats very top proce, usually about 25 for the regular seller
Just bought my first 5th today can’t wait to break it open

Andrew Sharpe in the us you almost always get more abv then we get in europe
Bigger bottles to, we get 70 cl
@@salamisaver I'm in north Africa and I get the 750ml bottle and 43.2 abv
Where i live it says in the description that it's very sweet with vanilla and caramel, is that true? I heard some say that it is not accurate

Its just clean and good I do it with ice
Strong woody flavour

Still got some of the double oak, would like to try this one as well.
A pretty lovely tasting for a great Bourbon! ✌️🔥🥃☺️

For me it's the perfect Xmas Winter Dram👍😀❤
I love their malt version- a soft tasting bourbon, not to sweet, perfect spot between bourbon and scotch before reaching Auchentoshan territory.
great bourbon but highly recommend coughing up the extra cash for the double oaked, it’s incredible
One of my favorite cheaper bourbons after Buffalo Trace.
Entirely different flavor though.
@@davidbroughall3782 Do tell?
@@anomniscientcat3483 it is not Buffalo Trace
Thanks for review
I got a maple and caramel flavour when I tried it. Possible pear notes.. Will need to try again
3:07 anyone else hear him say the weed whiskey? Lol

hello, could you advise me where i can buy the tasting glass he is using in this video?
I can't find it on any website.
thank you very much and congratulations
Looks like one of the Spiegelau whisky glasses
They deliver only to Germany and Austria.
@@SN-fi6qp You can get Spiegelau glasses all over. I am from Denmark, and bought them in a Danish shop
Thank you. I saw but there is no glass they use in the video
This whiskey is only good to appreciate scotch even more.
What's next? MetalVolvo?
I get some fruit like cherry in the nose. And a little almond 👃
Agreed. I find if it sits in the glass neat for a few moments you will nose a very strong almond note.
berries, orange/citrus, and vanilla
I taste the cheery as well. I was reading comments to see if anyone had the same experience.
I did not like the neck pour at all I’m hoping it will come around
Does anyone know where I can purchase these whisky glasses?
Pottery barn or home goods or ollies
Picked up a bottle today for £23 from sainsburys... bargain.
I want more than anything to have a drink with you and your pops
Just tried it. Dont like it.
Give it another shot, you’ll fall in love with it if you love both scotch and bourbon
I cannot stand this whiskey. Tastes of straight alcohol. The more expensive versions may be better.
It's a terrible spirit. It just taste like cheap American bubble gum. I don't know how he gets all that. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
What is your prefered spirit at the same price point ? (PS: Is American bubble gum different from bubble gum in most other countries ?)
You look 16
