    I used method two because I couldn't find a canned Organic BPA free coconut milk. It worked just like you said it would. ;) I noticed that without all the gums and junk it takes far less in my smoothie. And you were right again, it is the first coconut milk I have ever had that taste like, well coconut. Go figure. I saved the shreds and use them in my morning smoothie. I get all of that high nutrition value coconut and a little more flavor and texture. Thanks Food Babe! :)

    I eat that coconut manna straight out of the jar. Better than Ben & Jerry's. Thanks Food Babe for fighting the good fight!

    I loved this video Vani. It is crazy the list of awful and unnecessary ingredients in those milks that are sold in supermarkets.

  • @davehugstrees
    @davehugstrees Před 9 lety +6

    Great video. Vani's coconut milk is delicious, and far superior to the frankenstein "coconut milk" offered by Starbucks. Why they're even allowed to call it coconut milk is a mystery.

    I have to say.. I don't like coconut but this is actually pretty good! I used your organic shredded coconut method because I can't find organic manna or coconut canned milk locally. I have ordered them online because I want to try. Thanks so much for this video!

    Curious why most other videos say we should Soak the Flakes in Warm to almost Boiling Water? And then we can dump that slushy mush into the blender, then wait for it to Cool before Straining into a container.

    Good video, Vani... I'll skip the canned version, as many producers of cans / plastic are saying they are BPA-free, and instead they are using BPS...

  • @AshleysConsciousLife

    Can't wait to try the first recipe Vani! Looks great, and much cheaper than store-bought coconut milk! Do you ever add stevia to sweeten it?

  • @mrbpis
    @mrbpis Před 9 lety +2

    I would avoid the canned stuff, even if its one ingredient. Or canned anything. It may be BPA free, but they just replace it with another similar chemical thats just as bad. Its all business, they dont care about your health, just profits.

    My message is concerning Dairystar milk products. By accident I pick up their fat free Half & Half. And noticed I had the fat free container. Not what I wanted. So I looked at the Ingredients listed and was (shocked) 14 added ingredents. Needless to say I poured it down the sink. Please look in to this Thank you

    just recently found that I have to stay away from almond milk. we always have canned coconut milk, and 1 can + 4 cups of h2o is great! I have a serious sweet tooth, so I added a tbsp of white sugar to the mix to give it a little boost. thank you!

    Hi Vani! I hear the replacement for BPA free cans is titanium dioxide... which attacks the lining in your gut? Are you sure its good to recommend canned coconut milk?
    Thanks!

      Hi Attila! Wherecan I learn more abou tthe sideeffects of titanium dioxide? I am so worried about taking all those pills, creams containing titanium dioxide. I tried hard to find info but all I have found that it is safe, it travelles through your body having no side effect!!!!!

      Hi ,
      I can't promise it's bad for you but here is an article that can make you think. I don't find it difficult to avoid eating foods that contain it personally. We make coconut milk by blending coconut flakes and straining it here at home. nutritionfacts.org/2013/08/13/is-titanium-dioxide-in-food-harmful/
