    I tried so hard and so long with Wltoys, they are snappy, the 124017 out of the box is insanely fast for the price. But, if you do anything with a wltoys besides smooth asphalt, soft dirt or short grass, they will crumble like a house of cards. Attempt even a light bash and things break quickly, diffs wear fast even greesed and shimmed, and in the states, parts take months at times to get. The first week or so I was in love, but reality set in quickly after that. But the video is great, well done, and the car looks awesome. I'm just reluctant to trust wltoys again. Avoiding wltoys will really limit my channel content but I can't recommend them with good faith.

    @heclanet Před 10 měsíci +1

    I know that the video is already 1 year old but only now I have ventured into having a remote control car (for adults) and yes, 170USD (or Pounds) is a lot but the best known brands cost much more!
    I bought 2 WLTOYS, the 12429 (brushed motor) and l 124016 (brushless) and with both I had problems, with the 1st the engine lost a phase (after disassembling it and resolding the field worked perfectly) with the 2nd came with the turret of plastic shock absorbers and broke at 5 minutes (at the first crash)
    Anyway I enjoy repairing and improving them
    Greetings from Paraguay

    Good look at it mate, although it performed decent overall like the brushed model when I reviewed it last week i was a bit disappointed at the top speeds of this model considering it's brushless, I got pretty much the same speed as you did here. I had that slight delay in throttle which all these new models seem to have, I also touched on the price tag in my conclusions is too high in my opinion and I think it should be priced around the $170-180US price. If you already have the brushed version for $100 less, there really no point purchasing this one unless you don't like working on rc cars and converting to brushless yourself with better electronics. I like the 144010 over the 104002, now that is an epic fast and fun little buggy 👍

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  Před 2 lety +2

      You are right Dave! Would have liked to have seen a bit more speed considering. This should have come with a 60a ESC minimum. It really feels like they are just reusing old chassis with very cheap electronics just to get them out the door selling. I really hope they improve soon especially at this price point otherwise the fan base they have built will start to look elsewhere and at named brands. Cheers mate

    I would like to mention a future update for this buggy... the 45a esc is okay enough... the only problem is that I fried a lot of hobbywing 45a esc units. I would recommend a 60a esc whether it would,d be WLToys, T-Sky or Hobbywing. The Hobbywing WP-10BL60-RTR esc is my candidate due to it being waterproof.

    I just took mine out for it's first run. I'm not use to fast RC cars. I was surprised at how fast it was and that was with the battery that came with it. I'd like to see it run on a 3s. On the note of cost. Yeah, maybe a bit too expensive but almost all parts are a carbon copy of the XRay XB4 so it would be easy to upgrade to some better parts. It was easier for me to pay 259 for this than 800 for an Xray so I'm please with it. And it'll be fun upgrading it. Cheers.

    For 178 pounds the little thing should come free on any issues. I find that delay particularly annoying but as you have said, that is not something that a transmitter swap cannot solve. Overall, I like the new WL Toys Violent (specially the 3000mAh LI-PO detail that comes with) it just requires some wheels for a wider variety of terrain, the aforementioned transmitter, and a little love here and there. I liked that within 30 seconds of driving the car, you were already laughing, so from that perspective, the car is worth the £178 it costs. Great video, mate, great review and tips, as usual. Cheers!

    It needs a mod1 spool upgrade 40t spur, 14t pinion that all use modders run. On 2s we hit 50mph 3s 60mph. Get a program card on the stock ESC and raise the punch level.

  • @jameswisecarver
    @jameswisecarver Před 2 lety +1

    Yes I definitely think it is worth the price point, yes the lag is silly but with a new radio a few programming changes and a new esc that can lay down the power it virtually disappears. I can do that without ordering anything so to me it's well worth it and I think in about a month I'm going to put my order in and hope they're not sold out. Only thing that turns me off is all the trouble I've had out of their gears even keeping them greased doesnt really help much. Gool rc seems to have the best replacements I've tried

    1/10 scale is a fantastic off-road category, but much more demanding on the hardware than 1/12 (or 1/14 but in my opinion, too small to run off-road). Cheap parts in this buggy won't survive long. Serious 1/10 models (RC10B74, Kyosho Lazer ZX7, Tekno EB410, LC Racing LC10B5, maybe also Hobbytech BXR S1) use higher grade material, and that makes the difference after few runs, as well as a better design. Voilà.
    Also to mention that tyres choice will make 80% difference on a slippery track. So, testing different tyres during the video would help to see the potential of this new 104002 model.

Even if you want to run the chassis you will have to replace the motor and ESC with race legal parts, and the radio with its latency is useless on a race track.
