Whoever would've guest that 10 years later, these same kids would try to distort their father's image with lies all because he would not financially support them as adults. I have much respect for Brian McKnight Sr, tough love is the best love. Adult children should be able to support themselves.

Bullshit.com - Grown men can only be grown men if their parents provided them with foundations to survive. Brian in his social media post speaks a lot of child support and giving his kids two cars in high school 🙄 Tough love is something you display in their early upbringing, not in in hindsight. Why do children need two cars in high school? He seduced his children with his money and celebrity and now he wants to cry. This is all his doing. Accept it. The only value he thought them was keeping up with the Joneses w/ new cars in high school and probably the latest fashion. You can’t buy respect from children. Children need non-absent parents and iron fist. Rich or not, my children would have worked to get their own fixer upper car for their high school. And still I would have controlled their time and whereabouts. Not hanging out with other celebrity kids that will put entitlement into their heads. And if they wanted a chance in Hollywood, either on stage or behind the scene I would have set them up with mentors in the industry so they could branch off. But you don’t spoil them their whole lives with child support and cars and then expect them to act right.

Harvard or nothing. Nigerian parents are involved big time in their children’s education. Bs and Cs are not celebrated. But in the US parents celebrate their children for trying. This unfortunately set the bar low where they think showing up is all that’s required.

Nigerian mothers bragging rights amongst her frienemies peers are her children and their success. So the pressure is heavy on the children. In a Nigerian home you often are compared to the progress of so-and-so children. In Nigeria this provides the push. Some may not agree w/ the pressure or comparing to other children but....it’s has worked generations after generations.

EYES WIDE OPEN they would still need to support themselves no matter what their dreams are for themselves. Surely Mr. Mcknight had to support himself until his singing career took off to his financial freedom. He said his son had 3 new cars before his 22nd birthday... one should have been enough, right? That just goes to show that the kid (young man then, and still) had either crashed it or did not take care of it to get 3 new cars. I mean dang!! 3?!!! Plus his current wife got them jobs paying well to start with benefits... and they choose to opt out bc they smoke cigarettes... But, they want to be singers?! lol smh.

Miss Maria Nobody should have to. They should find their own way instead of riding on daddy's coat tail feeling that they are automatically entitled. I'm going thru this as well. Giving more than I ever had as a child to my adolescent years so that mine did not have to struggle, nor need, nor want as bad as I did. For some of us regular folks as parents will and have sacrificed to the edges and it hurts like hell to have someone loved so much has grown to be so ungrateful to not appreciate it all. . . even when in comparison to their peers generally, see how fortunate to have one of the best parenting one should have. Even while they are still figuring themselves out and learning to stand on their own being angry ungrateful and blaming, as a good parent I still love them to no end immensely.

Miss Maria I knew what you meant. Talent is talent. Character is everything! Part of any job is their character and personality. However, their singing ability so far sounds like their dad's , somewhat. That's Brian Mcknight (senior) who. sounds like no other than himself. I still enjoy his music and all I am saying is his son's should find their own way and sound... Do you know how many talented singers are occupying jobs in many fields than the one thing they yearn to be but bc of either their image or being under the wrong ppl delays their shine? If they want to be singers then let them pay for their own studio time. Mr. Mcknight already paid for their vocal lessons apparently he got them this far. They are 27 and 30 years old. With all that talent and having been on the stage and having a famous successful dad in the industry, what do you really suppose is stopping them?

Im a singer/songwriter for many artist and its not that their whiny, its just that they haven't matured into their voices yet. Go back to some of Brians earlier work, he sounds just like that lol. But now he's a full grown man who has years of training on his vocals and they just following behind dad and sooner or later in the future when they become older their voices would have developed just like their dads!
