Just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. Lot's of practical information, Thanks! The advice in this video to stagger the fader volumes on layered harmonies isn't something I've thought about before, will definitely try it out.
I'd love to see a similar video on panning guitars (doubled parts, complimentary parts, counter-rhythms, 1 electric rhythm guitar - 1 acoustic rhythm guitar, etc.). I'm not a fan of hard panning, but this seems to be the typical advice I find for symmetrical parts.

Are you also using volume automation to shift the focal points of the layered harmonies as the song progresses, or would this actually detract from the natural sounding movement already in place?
