Let’s see how good Brock Purdy is when Trent Williams retires, it seems like people forget Kyle Shanahan made Matt Ryan into the league MVP at one point, the QB that’s missing from your list for me is Lamar Jackson, the fact he won the MVP last year is an absolute joke, at least in 2019 he legitimately deserved it, Josh Allen should have been the MVP last year
Brock had the worst o line in the playoffs. 9ers o line ranked in the last third in 23.
If he had an o line like hurts or Goff, the 9ers would have won the chip easily.
Trent Williams is amazing, but he's just one guy. A solid offensive line, which SF does not have is a million times better than a trash offensive line with one guy who happens to be the best T in the league, which is what SF has
Fraud Purdy and Dak Prescfraud should be 1a and 1b on this list.
How is Dak overrated?
90% of what people say about him is negative.
Same with Russ. Since his last year in Seattle, no one has said anything remotely positive about him.
Overrated? That would be people like Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence who have never accomplished anything, yet are consistently ranked high.

Dude, are you serious right now on Watson? I am a Browns fan and all I see on social media platforms is people complaining about how Watson sucks, and many of them pretend that he has never been good because that is how much they hate him. I have not seen anywhere, where anyone is saying Watson would be a star player if he was not always injured.

@gmb858- The video is not about worst contracts. If it was, then Watson would be number 1 and fairly so. NOBODY thinks Watson is worth that contract. To be overrated, Watson would have to be getting more hype than he deserves. NOBODY thinks Watson is a top 10 quarterback. Even the Browns at this juncture don't believe he's worth his contract. If he was on the market today, he would be paid peanuts. The video is not about players getting overly paid, it's about overrated players. While Watson is many things, he's not overrated.He just sucks is all.

To be overrated, you have to have people think that you are better than what you are. Purdy is someone that many think is overrated by example because while most people think he's good, most don't agree with some media members claiming he's a top 5 quarterback. No one thinks Watson is a top 15 quarterback, nonetheless a top 10 one. Kruger said in this video how people claim that Watson is a good quarterback when he can stay healthy. I watch many videos and read thousands of comments and I can promise you that no on has said that. There are some that still are hopeful but that is different than what they think he will be.

Eagles fan here: I'm not understanding your Purdy comments. If you didn't know where he was drafted or if someone showed you his stats without you knowing who they were talking about, you would've definitely thought that person was a top qb.
If we are going strictly based off lack of acolades its Justin Herbert. (Granted alot arent his fault but still)

Imo 5th, 4th and 3rd QB fall in grey area. Ppl not sure what to expect from them. They can be good or worse. That's why many content creator tried to hype them ups.
Purdy is kinda unique though. I believe he is good. And his ultimate strength on his cheap contract. That makes it possible for 49ers to hv stacked team around him.

He was carried by a stacked offensive roster and a genius top 3 coordinator, arguably the best overall supporting cast in the league, and still played like shit the 2nd half of the wild card round and if not for the defense coming up clutch you causal would have a whole new outlook on Goff because you can’t see beyond base stats and wins for QBs. Goff won 3 games in his first year with the Lions...he called WR St. Brown 10 minutes after he was drafted so that they could work together...Goff was bragging about Ben Johnson before anyone knew who he was...a month or so working with St. Brown Goff told him he could be the next Cooper Kupp and showed him the tricks he had seen use.

lol five through three aren’t even overrated; we know they aren’t good at this point. Purdy isn’t top 2 but he isn’t overrated. He’s a big reason why they made it to the SB. Giving credit to his team and not him shows any person’s lack of football knowledge. Niners don’t get that far with Darnold or Trey had he been kept and played.

I think he’s good but it’s too early to tell if he really is a franchise qb which a lot of people are saying.
4.Lamar
He did not deserve to win mvp. It’s that simple.
3.Jared Goff
Arguably one of the best offensive supporting casts in football. He makes all the throws you need him to but nothing more than that. Pretty solid.
2.Geno Smith
He is not the answer at qb for the Seahawks next season and will never be more than an average qb.
1. Jordan Love
I feel like Jordan love did very little to earn the meatriding he is getting right now. He had a shaky first 3/4 of the season and had a couple good games here and there, including a nice playoff win. But cmon, he has to do so much more to prove he can be consistent before I think he is a top 10 qb.
Jordan love had almost the same stats as purdy with very little offensive weapons to help him and he’s overrated? Plz check ur ball knowledge

Lawrence, Lamar, Tua and maybe even Hurts and Burrow are, imo, more overrated than many guys on this list (potentially all of them except Dak). Not saying worse, but more overrated
I’m not with you on Deshaun Watson man, he was the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the league in 2020, the last 3 seasons were a complete write off I don’t know how anyone can make an honest assessment of where he stands or if he still has it or not until he plays a real season, I don’t care that he was rusty coming off his suspension, last year the doctors think he fractured his throwing shoulder in week 3 and he still came back a month later and won a game @Baltimore which they were down 14-0 at one point
His overall body of work is the definition of flash in the pan. Good play was a lifetime ago.

Forgot to include Burroverated who's incredibly mid in the playoffs and got outplayed by Jake Browning this year, always around 10th in QBR nowhere near Mahomes Allen, got outplayed by Tyler Huntley in playoffs, 0 4th quarter TDs in playoffs even Hubbard got a TD before him, in the 2021-22 run, he was less impactful than their kicker (Evan McPherson was perfect going 14/14 FG including multiple GWs and 50 yarders)

Old guy here. I’m not sure about Brock Purdy being overrated. I thought Brock did very well, getting his team to the SB. Sure he’s got a lot of talent around him, he didn’t do it by himself. With the weapons he had on offense, he still got farther than I thought he would.
Definitely agree on Dak. Great regular season numbers, gets beat in the playoffs, still makes FAT money on his salary. #1 overrated.
He's not overrated. 49ers have had Garoppolo, Lance, Mullens, Beathard, Johnson, and Darnold in the last few years. None of them came close to what Purdy has achieved. If it was the system, then even a Beathard could have gotten them to a Super Bowl. You could also argue that the system is what's holding Purdy back. The guy can do a lot more than what Shanahan's scheme allows him and the team to do. Purdy has an extra gear that Shanahan won't let him shift to.

I'd argue the best defense for Watson not being overrated is that most of the national media is happy to celebrate his failure, you can't be overrated if nobody is willing to say you're good to begin with.
To state the obvious, QB wins aren't a stat, especially when you factor in how disgusting (in a good way) that Browns defense was in the beginning of the season. Most above average backup QBs in the league could have won those games, and the dried up husk of Joe Flacco basically did even while the wheels were falling off at the end.
I'll give Deshaun credit for hanging tough in the Ravens game, but I think he'd have lost the locker room entirely if he didn't, he couldn't look Garret in the eye otherwise.

After watching a bunch of Niner’s games to try to figure Purdy out, I’m a fan now and think those who bash him still can’t get over his progress. He does have issues, but so did Brady at a similar point in his career. Not going to predict he will be that good in the end yet, however.
