Nitro Rider, Solar Inferno, No Turning Back, Against the Pressure and my fucking favorite, Abandoned Memory are so awesome.
In my opinion, one of the most solid and enjoyable Mega Man games I've played.

Screw all the complaints for this ost. Sure, it may have a bit of a different sound than from other Mega Man games, but it doesn't make it a bad track list! Come on people, this music still rocks!

Wow, Megaman music sure seems to be more emotional when you're not busy trying to beat the level. Farewell to Ballade 1:06:08 and farewell to the classic series for that matter.

You really should play mega man 10, it's my fav in the series. I suggest getting the time attack dlc, the bass dlc and the 3 extra stages dlc

This game is still an absolutely fantastic addition to the Mega Man library .brings me back to the hours spent playing the old mega man game

Call me crazy but I find this OST more atmospheric, more memorable, more authentic to an early 90s game, and most of the songs catchier than the OST to MM9. I really like the tunes to MM10, including all the Roboenza cutscene stuff. And the shop diddy!
It's only so accurate because they brought a lot of composers from the past NES games on this for the Robot Master themes.
Can't agree. MM9 had much better songs with better tunes. Some are good in this game but they're mostly unoriginal and forgettable.

RetroDrew I’m gonna revisit the MM9 OST- popular opinion does seem to be MM9 OST > MM10.. I’m a music guy, but so much of it is surly subjective. Mood-wise, the Strikeman, Pumpman, and Commandoman themes do a good job even if the tunes are a bit bland- but Sheepman, Chillman, Nitroman, and Solarman are awesome! The time signature during the intro music.. the later rockin Wily stage tunes.. fun stuff
Atma I also prefer much of the MM3 music to MM2 (exception being Wily1 from MM2) and think some of the select tracks on MM5 are among the best (gravityman, wily castle).. I might be on an island here lol

why people hate this OST, i think is one of the best on the series, even better that MM9. Songs like Abandoned Memories make you feel sad, most of them are nostalgic, and that's enjoyable (considering the gameplay, knowing it's the last game of the series).

Is it just me, or does this game's soundtrack scream 8-bit hardcore rock? Those kick rolls, guitar riffs, it's all there, but in chiptune!
One of the best MM OSTs outhere. Much better and more cathicer than MM9 OST. MM10 soundtrack is almost as good, if not actually better and more varied, than two of my other favorite MM OSTs, from MM3 and MM8.

Hmm really, MM10's soundtrack much better than MM9's? I feel much the opposite haha. Interesting to hear though. I do find MM3's and MM8's to be amongst my absolute favorites too however (plus MM7's).
Steven Thibaudeau I agree, MM2's music isn't godly to me either. I never understood the big deal that people make about it at all. I do really like a couple songs from it though, but it's overall style gives me a bizarre feeling.
Nazeji Rawr Mostly because of Wily 2. While a good tune, I think celebrated way too much as far as video game music goes. (See: One Winged Angel)
Precisely what I was thinking lol. And that's one of the few songs I like most from that game (I just wish people would tone it down a bit with that one). And other than that I'd say I like Quickman's (Wily Wars version anyway) and maybe another 1 or 2 songs.

Huh. You know, this OST is actually pretty catchy! In fact, its pretty groovy! Its really got me jammin!
The first time playing I felt this OST missed something. I didn't find most of the robot master themes as catchy or good as 9...
And while I still think MM9 has a stronger soundtrack; after replaying MM10 a little, it has some fantastic themes too, just not as flashy or energetic as I think it's because the OST in general has another tone.
Nitro Rider still kicks ass, doe.
The Wily stages have *fuckwin* music, and the special stages are also fantastic renditions too.
MM10 has fantastic music, just not on most of the RM stages, for my taste at least.

I think the main reason why this OST doesn't get the credit it deserves is because it was proceeded by arguably the best overall 8-bit Mega Man OST in MM9, and thus gets compared to it (fairly or not). Once I was able to ignore making this comparison, I gained a much deeper appreciation for it. Sheep Man's theme is among the best of all the Robot Masters' themes, and the Wily stages collectively are very strong.
MM9's OST is an instant classic. MM10's OST is honestly more of an acquired taste. Took me a few listens to really enjoy it. Wily Machine is amazing!

Roll's theme sounds like a song where Mega Man died at the end of the series. Plus, we still need a Mega Man 11, there are STILL so many unanswered questions. Like, what happened to Roll? What happened to Wily and Light? What happened to Bass and Proto Man? I guess we will not know for a *LONG* time. :/

Guess what just got confirmed for 2018!?
Before Light's death he made a robot called X, but he was too dangerous so Light abandoned it. Meanwhile Dr. Wily made a Zero, but never finished it as far i know. And i guess these two just peacefully passed away. If you want to know what happened next then play Megaman X1-X5 and Megaman Zero. You won't regret it. MMZ has one of the best story ever IMO.
I like to think the game boy games are at least somewhat canon. The entire deal with Quint would make a lot of sense.

There are some fantastic songs (Nitro Rider, pretty much everything in Wily's Castle, Endless Struggle), but I'd still say this is one of the weaker classic OSTs. It's not that it's lacking great songs...it's just that they come too late. I think the bland RMs are a factor in making many of the themes less memorable.

Some of the instruments in this game sound exactly like the ones in Megaman Unlimited. (When I first heard Ballades theme, I thought it was FROM megaman unlimited)
Both games were being produced at the same time(But MM10 was released 3 years prior to Unlimited), the MM10 site even used Megaman Unlimited artwork (The TriNitro Man problem is infamous already.), so it would be possible for Megaman Unlimited to use some MM10 instruments.
Both Mega Man 10 and Mega Man Unlimited use NES music (MM10 cheats a little bit, but uses the same waveforms the NES could generate). As far as instrumentation goes, there isn't really very far you can go with the NES sound chip. The 2A03 could generate 2 pulse waves, a triangle wave, and a noise wave, and could play 8-bit samples (which were rarely used for things other than drums due to the DPCM channel requiring processor cycles to play). The two pulse waves had 4 duty cycles, 2 of which are almost indistinguishable from each other. If you don't take multichannel effects like chorus into consideration or the noise wave (which can't really be used for melody), that's a grand total of about 4 unique sounds the NES could generate. Listen closely to any NES soundtrack (or Game Boy/Game Boy Color soundtrack for that matter) and you'll hear the same instruments.

Megaman 10's ost is kinda odd in that it doesn't get any good until the Wily Stages and the dlc content, with the only exception being Solar Inferno. I seriously want to know what happened with the Robot Master themes, since their quality is surprisingly subpar. Though it could also be that the composer had been brewing ideas for MM9's ost for so long that in MM10 they were simply burned out and it took them a while to come up with anything worthwhile.
They actually got the composers from previous games back for the robot master themes. The MM1 one for Nitro Man, MM3 for Solar, 4 for Commando, 5 for Sheep, 6 for Pump, 7 for Strike, 8 for Chill and RM&F for Blade.
They did an okay job, but they've also done better in the previous games.

Just giving some advertising for Mega man V (for the game boy). If you like 8bit MegaMan music, give a listen to Uranus' theme, space level theme and most of all, Sunstar battle theme. That ost isn't very well known but it has its lot of great tunes.
