    TEENAGER Alex Visker suffers severe allergic reactions when he eats all solid FOODS. One bite can cause him to experience extreme headaches, bone and muscles aches, stomach convulsions, brain fog and anaphylaxis. He is also allergic to environmental elements such as perfumes, paints, car filters, freshly cut grass, latex and car fumes. He stopped eating solid foods in 2013, and has been using a feeding tube ever since.

    • @patrickt.462

      Erika May Accent sounded American. But you had to figure out on your own that a disease so rare only one known person internationally has it is going to run you a pretty penny since there's no support like with cancer or AIDS.
      I mean this strictly as open dialogue and not to be a dick but what country would be better to have this one of a kind condition? One in Africa or the mid east? This kid's lucky to have his life and overpriced "food" and meds despite how expensive.
      Now I'll really sound like a dick here but at least I'll be an honest dick. So say he and his gf get married and have kids...how much weaker will they make the human gene pool? Harsh, I know. This isnt like a celiac diet where one's allergic to gluten or someone's allergic to shellfish. This is a condition where mother nature is telling you to go fuck yourself bc you're too weak.

    I got the stomach flu in March, then I got it again, and after the stomach flus, I started having severe nausea. I went to a gastroenterologist and they diagnosed me with post-infectious dyspepsia. They said it would last about four months, but it never went away, so I got an endoscopy in September. They couldn't find anything, but they were looking for eosinophilia esophagitis. I am still looking for answers, even if it may be an long cycle of post-infectious dyspepsia. I hope this guy is doing better, and more awareness should be made for gastrointestinal diseases.

      That's interesting. A roommate of mine passed on to me a highly contagious horrible stomach flu - the worst I have ever had. Less than a year later I became very sick and lethargic from any food and was randomly diagnosed with Crohn's, a disease that doesn't even run in my family. I think the stomach flu set it all off.

    • @milkweedsage
      @milkweedsage Před 8 lety +1

      +MiwaSchwa there is no such thing as stomach flu. influenza (the flu) is by definition a lower RESPIRATORY disease. it does not cause serious or long term damage to the gut whatsoever. the distinction is important and too many people get it wrong.
      i do feel bad for you though. i've had norwalk virus (which is likely what you had) and it can be so incredibly nasty. i also had Clostridium difficile infection which is way, way worse (and was life threatening). dealing with anything like that twice sucked, but to have lingering dyspepsia has got to hurt. literally. have you considered a "gut flush" cleanse? not the hokey supplements that are basically laxatives in a natural-sounding bottle, but a natural organic food cleanse that can flush out lingering toxins (from clostridium or staph, for example) and provide food for gut flora (aka probiotics) that can lead to a much healthier gut.
