I remember the streets of grozny, once clean, now littered with rubble, with ash, with bodies and blood. Burning and burned tanks and trucks, military and civilian, a truck full of children burned to death thanks to a chechen rocket. Civilians didn't stay safe, all chose a side, there was no neutral in the chechen wars, not when neutral is getting killed by both sides.
I came back to hear this song when currently by this date, Dark Times are surrounding Eastern Europe. I not only feel bad for the people of Ukraine, but too for those young Russian Soldiers who had been tricked into war by their warmongering leaders makes me sad. Those who are in the military don't really want this, neither their families, nobody wants this except those who sit down in the Kremlin. May Putin and his government pay for what they have caused in the life of thousands of people, both in Russia and Ukraine. Godspeed.

Ukraine is a bad situation, but nothing compared to Chechnya. In the few years that the war raged on, up to 250,000 civilians and 50,000 soldiers died. You had friends fighting friends, that had previously been battle buddies in Afghanistan and been through thick shit together. The amount of tragedy that came with that war should not be overshadowed by the light warfare thats going on right now in Ukraine.
