50 Km di Romagna 2024: Lachgar e Honkala inarrestabili a suon di record!

La quarantunesima edizione della 50 Km di Romagna si è conclusa con risultati straordinari e una rinnovata altissima partecipazione internazionale, confermando il prestigio e l'importanza di questa storica manifestazione.
La gara ha visto competere oltre 1200 atleti provenienti da quattro continenti, con un totale di 1053 finisher a testimonianza del livello di eccellenza raggiunto dalla competizione.
Nella categoria maschile il protagonista assoluto è stato lo spagnolo Chakib Lachgar, campione mondiale in carica della 50 Km che ha stabilito il nuovo record della gara con un tempo straordinario di 2 ore, 48 minuti e 48 secondi, migliorando di ben 36 secondi il precedente primato stabilito nell'edizione 2023.
Al secondo posto, con 02:53:42, si è nuovamente piazzato il francese Ruel Guillaume, detentore del record europeo sulla distanza, mentre al terzo posto si è classificato il keniota Simon Kamau Njeri (02:54:48), vincitore della maratona di Bologna 2024.
Quarto, e primo degli italiani, Luca Parisi, con un ottimo 02:55:56 nel suo esordio nelle ultramaratone e in prospettiva della partecipazione alla prossima 100 Km del Passatore con ambizioni di vittoria. Con il tempo di 02:57:09 al quinto posto troviamo ancora un italiano, Khalid Jbari, già vincitore della maratona di Massa Carrara 2024 e di Pisa 2023.
Tra le donne, la finlandese Noora Honkala ha battuto la concorrenza con il nuovo record nazionale finlandese e ottenendo il secondo miglior tempo di sempre nella storia della 50 Km di Romagna, con il cronometro fermato a 3 ore, 23 minuti e 43 secondi (16° assoluto). Al secondo posto si è piazzata la ceca Petra Pastorova, vincitrice dell'edizione 2022 e autrice del suo miglior tempo sulla distanza con 03:25:41, mentre al terzo posto ha brillato Sarah Giomi, esordiente nelle ultramaratone e con 03:26:31 autrice del secondo miglior tempo italiano assoluto sulla distanza.
Al quarto posto troviamo Eva Grisoni, già vincitrice della Maratona di Brescia 2024, che ha concluso la gara in 03:30:01 seguita dalle giapponesi Mai Fujisawa (03:31:30), campionessa uscente, e Hina Shiozaki (03:35:47).
Ma la 50 Km di Romagna non è solo competizione, è anche e soprattutto una festa dello sport.
La partecipazione alle manifestazioni non competitive è stata altrettanto significativa, con circa 1000 partecipanti che hanno preso parte alla camminata di 11 km e oltre 100 bambini e ragazzi delle scuole elementari e medie che hanno animato la mini-podistica di 2,5 km.

The 41st edition of the 50 Km di Romagna concluded with extraordinary results and a renewed high level of international participation, confirming the prestige and importance of this historic event.
The race saw over 1200 athletes compete from four continents, with a total of 1053 finishers as a testament to the high level of excellence achieved by the competition.
In the men's category, the absolute protagonist was the Spanish Chakib Lachgar, reigning world champion in the 50 Km, who set the new race record with an extraordinary time of 2 hours, 48 minutes and 48 seconds, improving by a full 36 seconds the previous record set in the 2023 edition.
In second place, with 02:53:42, was once again the Frenchman Guillaume Ruel, holder of the European record over the distance, while in third place was the Kenyan Simon Kamau Njeri (02:54:48), winner of the 2024 Bologna Marathon.
Fourth, and first Italian, was Luca Parisi, with an excellent 02:55:56 in his debut in ultramarathons and with a view to participating in the next 100 Km del Passatore with ambitions of victory. With a time of 02:57:09, another Italian, Khalid Jbari, already winner of the 2024 Massa Carrara Marathon and the 2023 Pisa Marathon, finished in fifth place.
Among the women, the Finnish Noora Honkala beat the competition with the new Finnish national record and achieving the second best time ever in the history of the 50 Km di Romagna, with the stopwatch stopped at 3 hours, 23 minutes and 43 seconds (16th overall). In second place was the Czech Petra Pastorova, winner of the 2022 edition and author of her best time over the distance with 03:25:41, while in third place shone Sarah Giomi, a debutant in ultramarathons and with 03:26:31 author of the second best Italian time ever over the distance.
In fourth place was Eva Grisoni, already winner of the 2024 Brescia Marathon, who finished the race in 03:30:01 followed by the Japanese Mai Fujisawa (03:31:30), defending champion, and Hina Shiozaki (03:35:47).
But the 50 Km di Romagna is not just competition, it is also and above all a celebration of sport.
Participation in the non-competitive events was equally significant, with around 1000 participants taking part in the 11 km walk and over 100 children and teenagers from elementary and middle schools enlivening the 2.5 km mini-marathon.
