8:30 I would like to have a slightly different point here. Being a Bengali we celebrate Durga Puja in a grand way and in every home this katha is being told to the youths that "Mahishasur had done a hard tapasya and impressed Lord Brahma. As a result he gave Darshan to him and asked him to get a boon for himself. So he said that no one should ever kill him. Be it Any God, Any human or any daitya. But he forgot to mention Women. So when he defeated all the Devtas and captured the Indrasan, Lord Indra along with others go to Lord Vishnu and he said "He can only be defeated by a powerful women". Then they go to Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva creates "Devi Durga"(her third eye was and trishul was given by Lord Shiva) and each lord gave their powerful astra shastra to her. And after a fight of many days he gets defeated by Devi Durga.
Also at 10:55 this is true. Because even today during Vijaya Dashami when we bid farewell to Devi Durga by playing Sindoor khela, we give her a proper vidaai like a daughter gets from her mother's house and that includes feeding her sweets. The same sweets and sindoor is offered to Mahishasur as well as to her Vahan Lion. And kumari Kanya (students both girls and boys) seeks blessings from Devi Durga, Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikey and also to Mahishasur and Vahan Lion by touching their books to their feets which is called as Boi Chuaono.

Just want to add my point Mahishasur didn't forget women he didn't felt that women can be powerful. He considered them weak creatures. There is a conversation of Devi and Asura in Mahatamayam where he addresses her as delicate and fragile which eventually enrages Mahamaya who eventually killed him.

I have appreciated him at places but yes nobody knows maa durga so nicely as much as Bengalis do just like nobody knows about Ganesh chaturthi more detailed way the marathis know and these stories are not made up by us. These are mentioned in puraans. I can recommend u to read these Bengali puraans.

Someone roast Ranveer for doing such kind of podcasts like on tantras and all but why people see it or connecting with religion only and limiting this knowledge, connecting to Hinduism only? Such a huge deep knowledge he is conveying through podcast easy and interesting way to get it which you can't get just by reading huge sized books and such books are even not available or approachable in our language

@@ayushjha811-p3o basically those families or people who have been worshipping Sri Vidya or any form of Devi will understand the basics of Sri Vidya. Sri Vidya sampradaya has many rituals as well as many rules or pathaya ( doing certain things in specific ways).
With other deities whichever way you worship it should be saatvik and with devotion. But when you start worshipping Devi or any form of Mahavidyas your way of living changes drastically. She will make you change yourself to quite an extent.
If you want to worship her you really need her permission and if you start you need a gurus guidance in the journey. It's not like one can never worship her without any guru one can but it depends on what kind of sadhak or upasak you are.
I can't explain too much in detail but if one wants to be her worshipper one needs her permission.
It's said that even saying her name requires her permission it has to be her wish that we know her or worship her.

Actually there is a difference between durgas sitting on a tiger or lion! When maa durga sits on the tiger she is most refer to amba, or ambe durga. When sitting on the lion now is durga mata, sherawali gujurati language. What most people don't know about these devis and devtas is that every name they have comes with a form and a different vibration with it, this knowledge is not written in books she has to show her talk to you her self and then you will see and understand her om Shanti Shanti Shanti hari om tat sat ❤😊🎉

As Bengalis are majorly 90 % are Shakta upasak and hence Devi Mahisasuramardini Durga is very close to our hearts . Durgs Pooja as celebrated in Bengal and in eastern belt is the prime fesitival for Bengalis and we wait fir tgese 5 days for the entire year counting each day . From spiritual to cultural as we say it is our jatiya utsav. The difference as he mentions is in the north they worship is astabhuja durga riding a tiger which we in Bengal or eastern belt too worship her as a forest deity called Vana Durga.

there is 5000 years of history of Devi worship in Bengal atleast , from Pandu Rajar dhibi to Gangaridae to Gauda Empire to to Mallabhum to Shikharbhum to Palas to Senas to Banghalas to Bhuyans like Maharaj Pratapaditya and obviously thereafter, but even in shastras like Markandeya Purana says - Raja Surath of Bolipur or Bolpur-Vanga, on supervision of Medha Muni first worshipped Durga in Satya Yuga, so Bengalis have a very special and old connection to shakta culture

Vindhyavasini devi is commonly known as Mahasaraswati or kaushiki who killed shumb nishumbh.
