He didn't say what the song is really about, it's about loss, written a few years after his brother Ollie took his own life.
I read it was about his brothers suicide, very difficult thing to get your head round. I can't stand Christmas songs but was only bigging this one up a few days ago. Tony is a musical genius and for all his faults Brian Harvey is a great singer, not my era I'm a fair bit older but I was young once I got there music instantly.
It's mad that you said that. My cousin died in the year 2000 from a hit and run when he was on a motorcycle. A lot of the times when I've thought about him and his anniversary of his death this song comes into my mind. I've often heard it on his anniversary. As it turns out he was a cousin of Tony on his mother's side.
I didn't know Martin Freeman was in East17?
I still like Stay Another Day, I'd met my now ex husband in the November so when I hear it I just get the feels of new relationship, first Christmas together. Even though we don't speak now it's still a nice memory 😊
How about brian getting some recognition
@@adamgrimsley2900He has nasty things to say because his former bandmates are arseholes. Simple as that.
@@Foo-oo-oo-oolsGold89 well looks like he is one being arrested, feeling sorry for himself and having a terrible life so...
@@Foo-oo-oo-oolsGold89Brian is a dickhead sadly .. Still unable to accept his own faults.
The only band member that made any money.
Didn’t know Ally McCoist was a singer.
Always liked tony ,,,great songwriter
Tony the only millionaire out of it all, but money from stay another day, was written by Tony, which generates huge amounts in royalties for him.
He invested his money in property, Which was a good money earner for him.
that's not all he guided him on from what I hear :-(
@@andersondasilva1334
@@anders-ganderson8715Sorry, but what does that mean? Royalties vary from year to year.
And - let's say that it is 97.000 - is that the total amount of royalties that the song generates? If so, the songwriter(s) normally don't get all of it. The publishing company keeps a cut (in my country it's normally 33 %, e.g.), if there are listed arrangers they might get some of the 97.000 etc.
@@JeansWebbTv You are confusing someone with facts. Not the done thing. You're right. Royalties will vary greatly from year to year.
What the hell he looks 65
He sounds like a normal bloke these days
Jesus he's changed in years 😮😮
I thought it was some man talking about Tony. N east 17 😂🤣😂🤣 n when it ended I was like wtf 😳 where was Tony 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Such a lovely geezer our tony is
Brian Harvey was the 1 who put 'Walthamstow ' , on the map end of Big up to him !!! ***///\
Why am so shocked when I see people who i idolised when I was a teen old Af when I’m 40 now 😂 I just think wow he’s aged but so have i wtf
It's easy to make lots of money from royalties......just write a hit record that gets played year after year for ever!
If other band members screw themselves up their own bum-holes about that, then they have only themselves to blame for it.
Diane Warren worked for a music publishing company in the States and she saw how much writers were getting for songs she thought were junk. But instead of bitching about it, she put pen to paper and wrote a heap of big hits. I'm sure she had a few duds on the way, but she succeeded and she now has many houses around the world, each with a fully functioning kitchen!
The hot bloke from East17!
Great tune though.
So, is he happy with the song being Christmas song and with the bells. I didn't get it maybe because I am a foreigner.
So Slade Must Be Earning, "LOADS OF MONEY" Royalist From Their Song ("Merry Xmass Everybody. 1 Million A Year, So Since 1973, They Have Made 50 Million From It." Noddy Holder & Jim Lea, Writers) 😮😮
biggest Christmas earner. Brings in 500k a year. Dave Hill was always bitter and they aren't friends. Noddy and Jim said it's our pension. Hill was similar to Harvey. Other people in the band doing the hard work whilst their out living the rock and roll lifestyle but feel they are owed something after.
How about Brian removing his vocals from all E17 songs being broadcast ever again due to the stress that caused mental problems of the set up interview...
Errrm of course die hard is a Christmas movie. I don't get how people can even debate it. It is literally based and set around a Christmas party on Christmas eve.
He looks like Ally McCoist’s cousin
Does brian get any royalties
@@Lisa-fs8royeah but Tony is wealthy and retired young and doesn't need to work again. Harvey is broke and just a bitter old druggy who contributed nothing musically to the band.
@@Clem_Fandango11Harvey was the frontman, smoking weed don't make you a druggy.
He once claimed to have suffered from anorexia at the height of East 17's fame
It's amazing, I remember when this was first out, I was stunned that it was successful, totally unchallenging dishwater
Brain made that song 🎵 👌
Only because of the vocalist.
At least we don't need to ask who ate all the pies , anymore 😂
Tony voice as gone high pitch since you know what happen to him .other then that he seems happy with money meanwhile poor brian tells the truth and needs some help from Uber
Maybe he rote it but if brain wasnt singing it it be like broken record ...
With out brian the band wiuldnt have been simple as ....
Don't hear from Brian these days
Don't be so hard on him, Brian single handedly ruined his career from then on it was survival of the fittest.
Tony man, your broski Brian has got serious mental health issues, go check 4 him my g❤
Why does he remind me of Slater in Only Fools and Horses 😂😂😂😂😂😂
omg yes I was trying to think who his voice reminded me of. Must be an East London thing.
