This map takes place in the comics in between gorod krovi and revelations which is how he got the blood. But Post revelations rictophen came back in time. The reason the past rictophen said you wont even remember is because he died and Alcatraz was sent into the dark Aether meaning they were fully Sent to a whole nother universe

Worst part is that the whole reason Richtofen took the crew to Alcatraz was to save them from getting erased at the end of Revelations. Literally the decision which redeems him as a character is what gets him killed, with none of the other characters appreciating what he was trying to do.
I think there is more to it than just what we saw. The character's knew they were following the Knonorium the whole time and so if another Richtofen shows up and points out to them that it has changed and there is more things they need to do then I understand them just immediately following along. Personally I think he said something to each of the characters and not just Nikolai which convinces them to follow him.
Not quite. The crew being played as in Blood of the Dead is a NEW Primis cycle and the original Primis crew are in the Great War. The Richtofen here in the chainmail is the original Primis Richtofen so his actions still exist to him. He has still been redeemed and he's about to become quite possibly the best of the lot. Nikolai or Richtofen will go down as the hero that saves the universe. Richtofen because he found a way to stop Monty or Nikolai because his soul is apparently key to defeating Monty.
Well what's worse is that the key to breaking the cycle and then beating Monty WAS for Richtophen to die and give his blood. But since he is only human, he feared death. "I wanted to keep going." This means that he led the crew through this cycle many times. The blood was a way to repeat the cycle at the end of Revelations. And it keeps going because he doesn't want to die. Sad as it is, he was selfish. It was totally understandable, but he knew the whole time, as he forced his comrades to kill themselves which hurt them all, that it could be avoided with his death. So that quote before he gets into the Dark Mechanism, when he says "Now I do the right thing. You want mein blood? TAKE MEIN BLOOD!" In this run through, he decides enough is enough, and gives himself up because he knows its the right thing. So ultimately, he does doing the right thing, but with none of his friends thanking him. What hurt most wasnt the fact that he died, it's that he died alone.

Bruh..... I've been following the zombies community since it started and this is actually the most heart wrenching thing I've watched. Richtofen is not a bad guy, and is the only real protagonist. LEX: "Did he deserve it?" Milo my response was the same.
Primus is lame anyways, who cares? Real Ricky just got his body back and is ready to cause some more mayhem :) And yes, he deserved it for shooting an alternate universe Ultimus richtofen in the face.
lowkey never seen this man so upset and depressed in my whole time watching him but i know how he feels because when i completed this easter egg i stayed away from twitter and youtube because of spoilers and i got 3 of my friends that had already done it to help me and watching this cutscene drained me emotionally
I have been following this story since the begining, its always had a special place in my heart. It's a story that I love and have always been excited to learn more about. I have always done all the easter eggs up to BO4. This EE in particular gave my squad and I the most difficulty. After many past attempts, today was the final day I would attempt blood of the dead. My squad and I had gotten up to the boss fight entrance. We put in the final orb and the door opened to go up, we scrambled up at the end of the round. We stood on the lights trying to enter the arena, but it wouldn't work. We were frantically all pressing square and trying to do it in sync in different orders but we had no luck. The zombies of the round came flooding in the tight area and we tried as hard as we could to find them off and enter the arena. After nearly four hours of attempting this EE, the game got the better of us and we died at the doorstep to end game. We knew the bossfight wouldn't be much of a problem but the way we had to go this game was the worst zombies experience I've ever had, simply bc the game would't show the hold square to enter. After the biggest L in my time playing COD zombies had been taken, I decided I must watch the cutscene. I kept the cutscene out of my sight waiting to beat it so I could experience the ending myself. After this immensely tough defeat, I wasn't going to try again, I watched the cutscene. This video in particular. This was the most emotional experience of COD zombies for me. I hadn't seen this cutscene until today after our last attempt and failure earlier. What a surprise this was. Richtofen's death was sad and I cant play zombies the same ever again. Well played treyarch, what an amazing cutscene, truly hit the die hard zombies fans like myself, Milo and many others in the feels. Its a very sad surprise, but now i am more than excited for the new content to come. THANK YOU TREYARCH keep up the amazing story you've created. RIP Edward :(.

Props to Treyarch tho, they really nailed the emotion in that scene. Beautifully made, not one person in the community didnt feel that. Definitely way more emotional than Dempsey 1.0 dying in Der Eisendrache.
Richtofen knew he was going to die, but he didn't want to, and was why he took a different route with the blood vials, but kept the cycle going. When he dies, the cycle was broken, and the blood was powering the portals for them to leave that realm.
The only one I believe is Richtofen for Weasel but Nikolai for Billy? WHO HAS A CLEAR MIND AND ACTUALLY THINKS THAT at least he should've been Sal DeLuca since he calls himself the leader and kinda is in a way in MOTD so idk where you got Billy for Nikolai but Billy should've been Dempsey.

I don't really get why, I mean, yeah, the scene is sad, but in reality the GW Richtofen is still a 'Primis' Richtofen. He's just one who has seen the end of Revelations (and presumably won the Great War).
This one really hit me hard, the only other time I have ever felt more hurt by a characters death was BT in TitanFall 2. Developers nowadays have this amazing way of building a bond between players and characters and its so painful to see those characters ripped away when you just get done thinking that they were in a good place
It is because we have never seen that before this map was the biggest change too our group in terms of characters turning into people,and then he dies after all of that
It really shows how much Edward doesn’t want to die... doesn’t want to be insane... fights through all this pain and ache to be knowledgeable and be alive in some way. And at the end of the day this was his crew, he sacrificed himself, even though it was probably killing him inside to kill himself. I loved this reaction and it made me tear up as well. It really shows how much you can be connected with these characters. Glad you completed it man, good job!

We can’t forget that Ricky Tofen was the REASON all this shit happened, and he dragged our beloved Nikolai, Dempsey and Takeo into all this and made them suffer for years, ON TOP of experimenting on COUNTLESS individuals and LOVED killing, this was long overdue and yes he is one of my favorite characters, however his sins are now being paid for. Mania Sonic For Smash I’m pretty sure the Kronorium told him that it was necessary to sacrifice his blood to break the cycle. Watch the intro cutscene again... he’s shocked and says “our blood? MY blood? You can’t expect me to let him happen”... Now he probably was hoping that he could break the cycle another way or at least find a way to survive but he knew what the book said from the start and probably knew what he’d eventually have to do.
Our Richtofen (one from origins and all bo3) is the 'post-revelations' Richtofen in this scene. We saw this same one that we played with in all bo3 get sent back to the great war by monty. Then that one came to this pocket dimension to break the cycle.

I have been following this story since the begining, its always had a special place in my heart. It's a story that I love and have always been excited to learn more about. I have always done all the easter eggs up to BO4. This EE in particular gave my squad and I the most difficulty. After many past attempts, today was the final day I would attempt blood of the dead. My squad and I had gotten up to the boss fight entrance. We put in the final orb and the door opened to go up, we scrambled up at the end of the round. We stood on the lights trying to enter the arena, but it wouldn't work. We were frantically all pressing square and trying to do it in sync in different orders but we had no luck. The zombies of the round came flooding in the tight area and we tried as hard as we could to find them off and enter the arena. After nearly four hours of attempting this EE, the game got the better of us and we died at the doorstep to end game. We knew the bossfight wouldn't be much of a problem but the way we had to go this game was the worst zombies experience I've ever had, simply bc the game would't show the hold square to enter. After the biggest L in my time playing COD zombies had been taken, I decided I must watch the cutscene. I kept the cutscene out of my sight waiting to beat it so I could experience the ending myself. After this immensely tough defeat, I wasn't going to try again, I watched the cutscene. This video in particular. This was the most emotional experience of COD zombies for me. I hadn't seen this cutscene until today after our last attempt and failure earlier. What a surprise this was. Richtofen's death was sad and I cant play zombies the same ever again. Well played treyarch, what an amazing cutscene, truly hit the die hard zombies fans like myself, Milo and many others in the feels. Its a very sad surprise, but now i am more than excited for the new content to come. THANK YOU TREYARCH keep up the amazing story you've created. RIP Edward :(.

During the scoreboard the map being empty is god damn eerie.
Richtofen knew he was going to die, but he didn't want to, and was why he took a different route with the blood vials, but kept the cycle going. When he dies, the cycle was broken, and the blood was powering the portals for them to leave that realm.

I don't really get why, I mean, yeah, the scene is sad, but in reality the GW Richtofen is still a 'Primis' Richtofen. He's just one who has seen the end of Revelations (and presumably won the Great War).

This one really hit me hard, the only other time I have ever felt more hurt by a characters death was BT in TitanFall 2. Developers nowadays have this amazing way of building a bond between players and characters and its so painful to see those characters ripped away when you just get done thinking that they were in a good place

It really shows how much Edward doesn’t want to die... doesn’t want to be insane... fights through all this pain and ache to be knowledgeable and be alive in some way. And at the end of the day this was his crew, he sacrificed himself, even though it was probably killing him inside to kill himself. I loved this reaction and it made me tear up as well. It really shows how much you can be connected with these characters. Glad you completed it man, good job!

Mania Sonic For Smash I’m pretty sure the Kronorium told him that it was necessary to sacrifice his blood to break the cycle. Watch the intro cutscene again... he’s shocked and says “our blood? MY blood? You can’t expect me to let him happen”... Now he probably was hoping that he could break the cycle another way or at least find a way to survive but he knew what the book said from the start and probably knew what he’d eventually have to do.
Props to Nolan North though, he definitely gave that permanence his all.
