Thank you for posting this fantastic helpful video, it looks like a lot of awkward fiddly work, but a real life saver, THANK YOU for the time and trouble, please post more, it deserves Millions of up votes and likes 🙂 Bless
Thanks very much for uploading this. I like the way you point out the tabs and which way they work. Without your help I would have paid a vehicle locksmith a ton of money to sort out my broken steering lock.
Professional.
I hope others can look and learn something from this Tuber.
Best video. Wish this was the first one I found
You just made a complicated job look very easy. Great video.
Toughest part of disassemble was getting the airbag removed. Have to pull very hard. The key wouldn’t release, so I had to cut the back of the old mechanism off to get it to release. Went back together about 15 minutes. Works like a charm. New part is $170 USD at this date
Thanks dude!
You know if the new one needs to be programmed
Many thanks for doing this video.
You save my Caddy.🙏🏻
I do some things differently than you and I don't have to remove the steering wheel, I use bolt remover for the broken bolts (have to dril a 3.5mm hole in the screw head) and a torx bit instead a screwdriver.
Works very well.
Without this video I never be able to fix it.
Thanks and I wish you the best.
Excellent, simple instructions, TOP VIDEO, THANK YOU, THANK YOU 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
WOW! AMAZING. WHAT A VIDEO. LIFE SAVER! THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for your video, it’s helped me so much to fix the problem I had on my golf. I had no idea what to do until I saw this. God bless you and your family. Cheers from Australia. 🍻😊

Everything is beautifully shown, such people really help because there are so many unknowns so as not to damage the hooks. Greetings from Poland. Have a nice day, sir
Thanks 🙂👌👍
Perfect, no words. Thx
Thank you for the video, I just got my Jetta done.the only struggle was getting the top screws out so I drilled a notch on the top and hammer them out just like you,and also I was able to keep my same key.
👍👍
How was this possible can i ask sorry, because wouldnt a different barrel have different patterns?
I like this guy don’t talk so much 😀
Your the men 🫡💪🏾
Muy buen video 👌 gracias, es justo lo que necesitaba.. 👊
On Jetta .don't need to remove steering wheel. Remove plastic surroundings. 2 top screws . Disconnect electrical plugs. Pry out cylinder.
thank you man
Best video
Thank you
👌👌👌🏆🥇
Difficult to undo center bolt is any threads glue to give more force? Thanks for tutorial.
Question about the 3 plug harness that connects to back of actual switch- the middle connects inside of black box -but --where does the last (two wire) plug connect?
Not sure I’d go with easy!
It was not easy
Facts
Awsome video I was wondering I got a new ignition switch with key do I have to program the key ?
Yes, you have to program it. I have replaced just cylinder housing.
no i pieknie🥺
If I change the steering wheel lock and ignition lock, do the keys have to be programmed with VCDs?
Don't need if you use same key.
I don’t understand why you taking the steering wheel off 😅😅
Name for all tools needed?
short and long flathead screwdriver, a t20 torx and a hard pointer and a hammer to hit the headless srews
7:45 lol don't do it the way this guy does it here.. His looked like they were barely tightened.
Mine I had to use a screw extractor it was that stuck on there.
Yeah this was a good video to watch to let me know I need to call my mechanic :,)
I replaced that, then car start but shut off, car key immobilizer flash any one know what to do?
Did you reconnect all cables? If the reading coil isn't connected to the ECU, it can't detect your key's transponder.
