Nice job you made that look easy, you should look into the modern style harness they offer a lot more back and leg support, which makes a huge difference if your not built like a toothpick.
Ever thought of just using a Blake’s hitch and move up drt less equipment less noise and your pulling half your weight with it over a limb as compared to your body weight
Sorry about that man. What they don’t show is the circus that IS getting the rope in trees with leaves or after leaf drop when both you and deer can see a long way through the timber. On the other hand, I’d be really sweet if you could talk the deer into coming in that machine shed.
I can't comment on his ascender, but my black diamond index ascender works in harsh conditions. I also use a htp static workpro rope which is designed for rescue in all kinds of conditions.
Teddy Smooth a throw ball with a small rope attached is thrown over a branch and used to pull his main climbing rope over the branch and tied into the base of the tree. Some people like to pre set there trees with 550 cord.
@Teddy Smooth you can also install a "friction saver" by using a throw line and Jonny ball. Google "friction saver installation" for videos, and I think you can still buy them at treestuff.com
Yeah climbing sticks and hang ons are loud too unless you're trying to be quiet. Dudes in his garage and not worried about spookin deer at the moment. Im sure you can do this quietly when you want to. Seems pretty efficient.
@@seanbarrett657 Nah...looking at it again, could be bad technique. Move the foot loop to the rope he's pulling down with his right hand ....1) probably removes the noise and 2) will let his leg/body weight move him up. Less work, less noise, less sweating.
Yeah I'll take this anyday over sticks quicker and more quite if you preset runner lines with a tree to steady you and a shorter bridge a nice and easy ascent you can get away with the same smooth movement as sticks
Look up the halfline system from NY Saddlehunter. Their newest method, whether climbing with a halfline SRT or using a DRT/MRS system is smooth, efficient and quiet. The bonus for me is I can get a rope in nearly any tree as opposed to most tree stands.
Do this for 30 minutes per day, and your physique will be radically improved.
Doubtful I do it for 8 hours a day for a career
@@ghostmedalSo you're the fat guy in the video, or you're just a random person who's a little mentally slow.
Good job man. I think you could really benefit by adding a short bridge if you haven't tried it already. I like the vid.

This is jut for climbing.
You make it look easy!!!! 👍👍
Dude! Thx for this vid. You have totally changed my perspective.

Terry why is your left leg so much bigger than your right?
Terry: …..
What kinda of belay device is thay
Madroc
Why do I feel like he is an arborist?
Does this method work in snow and rain? Does the ascender grip the rope still?

I don't think I have ever come across an ascender or descender that was not designed for out door use.
Ascender yes but make 100% sure you use a dry rope not a dynamic
@@jk-vs3yq you mean static rope?
How would you get that rope already up the tree?

Julian Evans interesting, seems you get up there pretty quick to.

Wait til the chinese invade and we are all hiding in trees 😂😂😂
Fuck that looks painful lol
Shorten your bridge and you'll get a more efficient climb
What's with all the noise, when there shouldn't be much? Impressive, but really?

Now do it against a tree in the dark
Done it plenty of times and I don't use any metal that clicks around.
Way to much movement. Ill sliwly sneak up in my sticks. Try doing this with a buck bedded 60 yards from you

Well that would be great if I was rock climbing but I'm deer hunting ,,stop it
Look just started buying into this got some gear in monday this looks a bit more complicated than my set up however i can pull my own bodyweight up.
