Sickening year for Arkansas Athletics😥
Been sickening since 2018 when Arkansas hitting folded like a cheap suit against Oregon State. They let a drop ball destroy everything they they accomplished that year. Just gave up.
Every year since lots of promise and dominance during the season but completely LOSE IT in the Regionals, Super Regionals and Omaha.
One year it's pitching, another it's hitting or bad coaching decisions by DVH and his staff. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Arkansas will NEVER win a Natty with Hall of Fame coach DVH at the helm. The next Mike Martin, lots of wins but no hardware.
Even sicker knowing you've got another year of Pittman and Neighbors

SEMO pitchers, that’s laughable how about you call it like it is, your team has the worst offense in the SEC and you just kept praying it would get better on its own… Stovall is way over rated, without White and maybe occasionally Aloy your team sucked…

The Hogs lost 6 of their last 8 games, an almost complete collapse.
Worst team BA in ncaat. Pitching non-existent. No small ball, base-running sucked, 4-9 in last 13. Peaked in first month of season. Bob Holt should be limited to one question and “how tough was that” phrase should be banned from questions
DVH will get you 40 wins but doesn't care about tournaments like the SEC or Preseason and it shows with his staff and players in the NCAA tournament.
His teams over the last 7 years with NATE THOMPSON as batting coach has a .176 batting average in the NCAA tournament which is the fault of DVH ....because it's also his philosophy on hitting (launch angle, non aggressive approach, etc)
DVH needs to retire, his approach to the game and what he teaches clearly does not work in this day and age.
The game has passed him by.

If DVH had the talent Tennessee or A&M has, he would have multiple championships. He wins with good players, not great player, with very few exceptions over the years like Hagen, Kjerstad, Benitendi, Kopps, and Casey Martin his freshman year.
Love these kids. Tough end to a season. We all know the feeling of playing your last game.

DVH is gonna have to go to Johnelle Hunt for money to pay players. The only reason Tennessee and A&M are better than us this season is because they paid for better player like Braden Montgomery and Billy Amick. Does anyone really think Sprague-Lott, Edmunson, or Wagner got an NIL commitment before coming to Arkansas??? Of course not. DVH is old school but he better change his mindset fast because LSU, Tennessee, and A&M are leaving him in the dust. Any guy that doesn’t command money these days probably isn’t good enough to play for an elite program.

It would be a dereliction of duty if DVH doesn’t invite Trevor Ezell over to his house for dinner, when SEMO is eliminated from the tournament, to offer him the hitting coach position when Nate Thompson leaves for a HC job. If Arkansas doesn’t get him, someone else will. Ezell will be at a power five school in the next five years, full stop.

@@smokintempt909 DVH signed that 5 year contract with five one year options in 2021. So, the five years runs out in 2026. I’m sure his plan was to hopefully win a natty by 2026 and then not exercise his options. But if he didn’t have a natty by 2026, keep trying, but not be locked into a contract, in case he wins one in like 2027.. At this point tho, he might just give up after the 2026 season, if nothing changes. Which unless he makes personnel changes and/or starts paying more for better players, nothing will change.

That's what happens when your best offense is really just hoping the other pitching ain't that good. It just seems like EVERY other team in the country has better offense than Arkansas, whether it's power or just getting on base and making contact. I've said before how I've watched a ton of Nate Thompson talking to the players, and it's the most psycho-babble nonsense I've ever heard, and nothing about approach or the pitchers' stuff, BUT I did recently find a clip where he talks about "cutting off half the plate" which I think you can see in their approach that appears to be, "watch two strikes float by then protect."

I think the Vitello noise just ended considering he allegedly turned down a historic contract offer from Texas to stay in TN, plus a hefty long term contract has been in the works for months now at UT (allegedly)

Tony pays good money for his players like he should. DVH goes after mid major guys that dream of playing at Arkansas. DVH needs to get with the times and start paying for better players if he wants to compete with LSU, Tennessee, and A&M.
