Thank you all so much...I never had the honor of meeting David, but he was the closest thing I've ever had to a mentor. I grew up in a rural area with no magic shop and David's video series, along with Bobo, was my only instruction for a long time. I've rarely been touched so deeply by the loss of someone I never actually met. Thanks to everyone who made this possible, I'm literally in tears right now, wow. Rest easy Mr. Roth, you have worked so hard for us... you deserve a break. ❤!
I only found out about this last nigh...t I'm truly in shock right now because when I was young I bought my first magic video David roth expert coin magic and this videotape pretty much started my whole interest in coin magic I can't thank him enough for what he has done to me and he will truly be missed if there was ever a master of magic especially coin magic David roths name will be the first name to pop up on the screen as it should be you will truly be missed David Roth thank you for all you have done for the Magic World you changed my life and I'll be forever grateful rest in peace my friend
Wow! That was cool. I’m a professional magician of over 40 years (retired now) and I hope I’m remember as fondly when I go. He was scheduled to be at the Unitarian church in Eustis Florida this Sunday, I was looking forward to connecting with him again.
Came across this video yesterday. Good to see Lisa and many of my favorite people talking about David. Thank you for creating that slideshow. Loved it. Never seen many pics of young David before. It would be nice if you can post those pictures in David's website. RIP David.
I watched this live. Thank you to Asi Wind, David's sister, Jamy Ian Swiss, and all of the other speakers. This was one of the most moving memorials I've ever "attended." A wonderful celebration of a remarkable man and his incredible life. How many artists have single handedly influenced and changed their art form? Roth did. And he started doing so at such a young age! I had the personal pleasure to have met David briefly years ago at FAO Schwartz in NYC. I had no idea that he worked there. A total coincidence that blew my mind. Only a few minutes chatting at the magic counter but it remains one of my most treasured memories as a magician. It's so sad that he's gone. But I'm so thankful for the body of work that he's left us to learn from. I'm even more thankful for all the times David Roth destroyed me with his magic.
Rest in Peace David Roth, you legendary inspiration. Thank you for sharing. Thank you to all of the illusionists and magicians you bring a lot of joy to people :)
Obviously David was a very special person. I met him only once at Tannens Magic Jubilee in 1991 and he was telling the story of why he was the hands for Burger King. “I have small hands so the burger looks bigger.” His magic was amazing and although I didn’t really know him he felt like a great friend to me. May he Rest In Peace.
