Got a 552i and it’s not holding a deep vacuum as well. Unreal.

is it possible to draw a vacuum to fast on a system that may cause moisture to freeze . just upgraded to dual 5 cfm pumps and 1/2 diameter hoses and was reading some forums online and came across that . or is it better to use 1 pump with both hoses attached to both the high and low side of the system . and also in a situation like this where you cant get all of the moisture out what do you in predeecing to rechrage it .

Excellent question this is the difference between an armchair engineer who reads papers and somebody who actually works in the field for a living and knows different.
In theory using a geothermal or a hydronic system for example where I played heat exchanger has leaked and liquid water got mixed in with the oil and refrigerant.
Cold weather climate yes it is possible under these extreme conditions to freeze water in your oil in your system.
In reality in the automotive field on a car with a little Eddie bitty tiny system and small little tiny lines tiny little evaporator tiny little condenser on a regular warm day and even better if the engine was hot.
The chances of freezing water in the oil and it’s staying there by not absorbing heat from the large surface area of the lines in compressor condenser and evaporator with the surrounding air temperature at 60 or 70° and above.
Would be like saying if I threw a ice cube in the Pacific ocean in the ocean would freeze from one ice cube.
This is the order of magnitude and heat BTU input to surface area to the small quantity of water with the heat rejection of the oil to the surface area in an automotive system.
Same goes with the armchair engineers who sit and read thinking that if you draw a deep enough vacuum with one of our Automotive vacuum pumps you can go to low and vacuum and ruin the oil. 😂🤣.
When you hear that statement come out of somebody’s mouth you know they just Booksmart and they read the wrong books and have no grasp of physics or math.

Lol if the tool is that fragile that is meant to be working out in the field then it need not be in our service trucks.
All joking aside both the gauges set were returned and they gave me a new set that booted up software and connected and worked properly.
But the Bluetooth connection kept having a drop out problem and connection problem continuously that did not go away.
Are used for different iPhone 6 Plus S and one older Arduino Samsung tablet .
It turns out Testo did not mention or more like head their problem thinking they could sweep it under the rug that they had a issue with older phones and tablets with the earlier versions Bluetooth having connection problems.
Just think if you were Testo marketing and you knew you had these problems and you had to tell people before you buy this new product you have to go out and buy a new phone and a new tablet with more up-to-date Bluetooth software and hardware.
They would lose a lot of sales of their product because who wants to spend several hundred dollars more on top of that to buy a new phone and a several hundred dollars more to buy a new tablet.
So I bought a new Apple tablet $400 just so I can get my manifold and Bluetooth Micron sensor to stay connected and this solve the problem soon to buy a brand new Apple iPhone which will be another $1200 just so I could use the Testo software and hardware accurately and reliably.

Bro if ur throwing around and banging on shit they're fuckin tools for fine measurements you're an idiot.
Go throw a fluke off a roof whenever you feel pissy and see how well it holds up

whats was the problem with testo 552i again?

    • @coldfinger459sub0

Sometimes when turning on the 557 and the app on my phone it would go into a refrigerant update mode and just get stuck there and keep looping over and over and over again in refrigerant updating the app would freeze up and I cannot turn it off or back out or cancel
At the same time when it’s stuck in that refrigerant updating boot loop mode I cannot access or do anything with the refrigerant gages either unless I just turn off the power
When trying to access the Testo micrometer hooking up between the app and the gauges it sometimes will not show will not connect.
I’ve tried powering off and powering back on both the gauges in the micron sensor.
I tried deleting the app off my phone and reinstalling it so I have a fresh install still occasionally same problem.
Other problem just bumping or tapping the phone while you’re taking your readings the 557 gauge will completely shut down and reboot and start again so you lose your connection and any data you were trying to log .
So I’m just going to consider I just happen to get a defective gauge send it back and try again.
Yes I do occasionally and especially right out of the box get the gauge that you have to Press the zero gauge button to zero out the pressures because when you turn it back on one side will show a different pressure positive sometimes negative then the other side pressing the zero button takes care of that problem other people have complained about that.

@@Robo.1776 Both the Fieldpiece and the Bluetooth sensors multiple five or six all at one time to connect to one app simultaneously they both have been working like this for years.
And Bluetooth is meant to work like that.
This is not Bluetooth 1.0 that came out over a decade ago.
Apparently you do not own all the Testo wireless Bluetooth sensors or the Fieldpiece wireless Bluetooth sensors that all connect simultaneously to their app.
And both the Fieldpiece sensors and the Testo sensors can also connect simultaneously to the third-party MeasureQuick app.
Years ago when Jim Bergman was developing that I connect manifold system and software app they were coming up to overcome the connection problem using the Zigby wireless mesh system that was the forerunner before Testo or Fieldpiece came up with their Bluetooth where are multiple components simultaneously can all mesh together and connect to one app taking live readings .
As for Testo‘s wireless micron meter is very accurate I tested them together and made a video and posted it with both of them connected to the Testo 557S simultaneously.
I have since received a replacement Testo 557S refrigerant manifold and sensors right out of the box it connected and worked properly so far. 👍
I still have not used the new replacement Testo 557S refrigerant manifold or micron sensor out on the field because I cannot afford to waste time trying to debug it just in case I have problems too much work to be playing with tools during billable work hours.
Once they test them and do some overnight data logging leaving them on and running overnight while data logging if they’re flawless and stay connected then I’ll deemed them suitable to take out on the field to use during billable working hours as to not waste time.
Time is money and when you’re approaching $300 an hour a few flaws and bugs and hiccups on a brand new tool can start adding up really fast when you’re on a rooftop and the tool stops working.

If you're serious you would not use those hoses they are for charging systems not evacuation. Is that a car your pulling a vacuum on? A Appion vacuum pump wll pull a deep vacuum 350 or below isolated in 15 min. You can put the micron gauge anywhere you want and it will be below 500 microns. I thought this video was about the Testo 552i not how much better your micron gauge. is

It was about how you should not use refrigerant charging hoses to pull a vacuum through I probably stated that several times in the video
But lazy and cheap people will do it anyway so I was showing the result
Anyways to explain to people who don’t know how to use a micron gauge the micron reading your reading out a vacuum pump if you place it there will be wrong because that’s at the source of the vacuum.
And the further you get away going through refrigerant charge your hoses the worse your vacuum will be.
Exactly everything you stated as a comment was 100% true and that’s exactly what I said throughout the entire video.
Other than a Testo software was really having some issues staying connected. Did not matter whether I used it with the Apple tablet or a android tablet a Apple phone or a android phone Testo has to work on their Bluetooth and software connectivity issues.
