  • Tutorial on how to wire up a modern style fuse and relay box. This is going into a 1972 Super Beetle but the wiring is the same for most other vehicles.

Are you going to able to handle a another fuel pump order 😂😂

That's the old fuel pump that you hear. I haven't switched it out yet.

I commented earlier but my post seems to have disappeared. Interesting content but to be honest, not your best presentation. In fairness, it's not an easy subject. Anyway, I was wondering if you considered using a solid state relay module? They are a bit pricey but offer built in short circuit protection and come in a couple different amp ratings. Just curious.

I apologize for the presentation not being up to par. I will try to do better. How could I have done better? I don't want anyone dissatisfied with my content so I welcome the input and criticism.
I did not consider using a solid state relay module. I'm trying to get this beast driving while spending as little as possible. That's why I'm using harnesses that I saved from fixing MBs, they're free. What I used in the video was $40 and more than enough. I only need 3 of the relays. I don't plan on adding any electronics to the car. If I do, I still have one relay left.

@@FriendlyMBTech It was just a little hard to follow the wire diagram. Also, it wasn't clear where you connected the large red wire for constant +12. I assume you connected directly to the battery but maybe you have a distribution block somewhere?

@gstcardude the diagram was VW specific which admittedly is difficult to follow. You are correct, the red wire goes directly to the battery. The Super Beetle is shockingly basic. 95% of the electrical on the car is for lights. Also, it's been converted from 6v to 12v, so the new alternator is internally regulated, which means the external voltage regulator was removed as well. The electronics I have added are all better off being controlled by relays. I'm actually going to try one more thing before replacing the fuel pump to try and save money. I need a mint to keep working on the V12 haha.
