Making it a 5 mana 4/5 would make it similar to Naga Sea Witch. The card would see play in nearly all decks, I think, if it was a 4 mana 3/3 with the same effect.
It works pretty well in Control Warrior I find. Often when you brawl you want to drop a minion to give the chance of clearing their entire board. Both cards line up in situations you want to play them, and in mana costs. Combined they go for 10 mana.
Bordclears in arena are rare

it's clearly not arena decks!
It's being used in a lot of streamers' decks and it was even in some decks in tournaments. It seems like a good card for decks that need 5-drops.

that last game was exactly a month ago....
This is what i've been trying to explain to my friends for a while, but i've never been able to put it into words.
I figured you play it like a pseudo doomsayer. Delay enemies lethal through mitigation of the damage you will take next turn as well as trade up or set up for a clear the next turn.
Krip starts with ''K''.
Cult Apothecary starts with a ''C'' that sounds like a ''K''.

My Inspire/Renounce Warlock deck welcomes the Cult Apothecary so much.
The other weakness of the card is that, unlike Antique Healbot, it doesn't protect your from Freeze Mage or other creatureless decks trying to blast you down- the most life it'll give you against a Freeze Mage is 2 life from their Alextrasza.
This card is amazing in a semi control rogue, especially a shadow step play

This card actually works good in freeze mage, if his board his full just use frost nova and this card and you get +14 health instead of the +8 you get from the healbot.
Not seen the plays yet, but, I think this card is best when it gives 4 or 6 health, on curve, above 6 mean you will loose the board, under 4 you loose value, then at 4-6 it's heal + a 4 drop for 5 wich is not bad, and I think, it can sometimes turn the game around, and yes it's a pretty interesting card even if its not that good...
Play it when your opponent has a fairly large board, clear their board with AoE next turn, thereby luring out another minion / weakening existing minions on the board to make the clear more valuable.
Can I start off by saying that this is one of the best cards to start off with in a f2p run, especially if you're going to be making a rogue/hunter/mage/warlock deck? It is incredibly good, because it is often just enough to keep you from dying for just one more turn, long enough to kill a taunt to get to higher attack minions, or whatnot. The fact that it's also a 5 mana 4/4 is a huge upside, and since it's a common card, it's not hard to get.
I feel like if it said:
"Battlecry: Heal your hero for 2 health for every minion that died this turn" it would be a much better card without breaking too much. Yes you can heal for a lot more potentially, but only if you and your opponent both have a big board and you clear all of it, which isn't usually something you want to be doing.
I think the main problem with Cult Apothecary the way it is now, is that you can't play it when you're winning, because it becomes a 4/4 for 5 mana that doesn't even heal you. And nobody in the current meta can afford to have a potential dead draw in a deck of only 30 cards.
i think its really strong in handlock because it can be a good heal+shadowflame is a board clear and a possible 14 heal which can be extremely strong against aggro

This card's actually performed a lot better than I expected. Of course, I expected it to be complete trash. Refreshment Vendor's definitely a better tempo-y heal card, but one of each was surprisingly effective in a Reno deck I had.
This is really only a good healing card versus decks like zoo or rush hunters. The issue is that if you use this deck on turn 5 then you're just healing and not impacting the board.
On turn 10 this card can be nuts though. especially as a priest. This card + excavated evil is nuts!
In the category of "cards I won't play until it costs 1 mana less".
Tried it out. A card which doesn't compensate quite enough when you're losing and is terrible when you're ahead.
Plays well-ish in priest decks because of excavated evil and holy nova, requires that you get to turn ten though
If the opponent has a lot of minions, I would use a board clear, then play the maximum tempo immediately. The next turn, the cult will probably get 4-6 healing to you hero, and if he gets less, your opponent is probably top decking and you've won then.
it should change to : battlecry: For each enemy minion died this turn, restore 2 health to your hero.
Just a crazy thought: why didnt the summoner summoned 2x3 mana cost minion if the first was brann? Battlecries trigger first so not sure how the game handles that.

for a fast freeze mage do u think its better cult apothecary or antique healbot?
Could Cult Apothecary be good or decent in Druid perhaps? It's not like they've got good board clears anyway, just big taunts. And with Innervates/Wild Growths, the mana cost may not be that huge of a factor. Getting a big heal and a 4/4 on the board on turn 3 or 4 against zoo as C'Thun or beast Druid sounds like a useful tempo play, at least more useful than just playing Healing Touch or something.

Cult Apothecary... Make it a rare, and have it read:
*Battlecry:* For each enemy minion, restore 2 health to your Hero and restore 1 health for each minion your don't control.
Then, the card could be better against control and fatigue decks, and it would blow aggro and mid-ranged out of the water.
But how much would it cost?
Cult Apothecary will be great in PvE expansions, calling it now!
I run apothecary in my fatigue Mage, it's ok, will never replace healbot though :(

Cult apothecary isn't a heal card, it isn't meant to measure up with Junkbots 8hp while your opponent has 4 minionso n board. It's meant to be a hey My opponnent has two minions on board and I have a 4/4 that can trade with either, let me play him and heal for 4
