I love the manga! I think it's better to adapt it into a series. First live action movie cramped up the whole 1st arc in manga so the ending felt kinda rushed and awkward
This film was so much better than I expected. I think the trailers destroyed this country by putting in all the heavy CGI scenes thinking it would look "action packed" when it just left viewers confused by what they had seen. The film is far better and deserved more.
Alita holds a very special place in cinema. With the movie saidly being overshadowed by the likes of Marvel, I do think a sequel should be made. Alita's story is far from finished, and with the growing fanbase, each day feels closer to a sequel becoming a reality. Alita Battle Angel is a true gem in cinema, and it would be a sin to not continue this brilliant franchise!
I would like to see a sequel cuz the ending of the movie is like showing a sign that its not finish yet, cuz there is no way they are ending a good movie in that way, and i would also like to see the whole story of the war and how alita started her life.

I never knew Alita was based on a manga prior to seeing it in theaters and so i went into it with zero expectations and needless to say i was pleasantly surprised on how good the movie was. I hope they make a sequel, in a industry that pumps out countless superhero films and uninspired remakes/reboots, we need more films like Alita getting a continuation.

i thought from the beginning, alita had franchise written all over it, then the ending sealed it for me, this quest is just beginning... the universe and story line is so vast, they need to peel it apart gently and tell the full story... we need more!
Until 2010-2013 I'd always thought Summer Glau would be a good Alita (Gally) even with her higher pitched voice. The physicality wouldn't have been a problem for her though. Closer to 2001ish Jessica Alba showed she might have been ok with her Dark Angel role. I'm so glad they waited. Rosa owned this role. We need more.
Zendaya is way too tall for this role. Alita was around 4'11"; Zendaya is 5'10". Rosa acted all the parts out in a suit. It would have looked off having an actress that was so much taller than the character was supposed to be.

As for the people in the upper city, they are so involved in extending their lives, they forget to enjoy that which they have. I know little about this movie, but that is my current take on it until I learn more.

I first watched Alita in 2D because the group I went with didn't like 3D. So I went back a few days later and watched it in IMAX 3D. "AMAZING". Long story short, I picked up a used 55inch plasma 3D television on eBay. Trust me, 3D is the ultimate way to watched Alita: Battle Angel.
I loved this movie so much that I watched it again a week after my first watch this spring! Still holding out hope that it gets a sequel or multiple! It would be amazing!!
I followed Alita's development ever since the early 2000s when it was announced Cameron would be working on it. I remember being so disappointed that he chose to do Avatar instead. It was the longest I ever waited for a movie to come out. It didn't disappoint me, and I went and saw it 10 times in theaters. Please continue making them!

Alita has already become perhaps the best heroine of the sci-fi action movies that have been made so far. And I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel.
Disney should be all over an Alita sequel. I mean we have a female action hero, a Latino rich cast and director and a deep well of historic story content to work from with a built in audience. It’s a win win. The initial movie did well but was let down with the lack of marketing and release in February which is typically a rom com movie release month.

I just generally love dystopia films and this is one of my favourites. I love how after 300 years the population has forgot what really happened. The people from Mars came to save Earth, not destroy it. The danger was the floating cities (and/or Nova), but the one remaining made sure to change the opinion of the survivors. Misinformation. There are so many levels to this film. There is no other film I would want a sequel from as much as Alita. As long as it is done right of course.
Not to burst your bubble, but the actual backdrop of why Alita/Yoko came to Earth is a bit different, and it was not to save Earth. The event is largely a giant tragedy. Look up "Terraforming Wars" and "Operation Maulwurf" on the Battle Angel Alita wiki to find out more.

The Romance Subplot did a disservice to the movie. It didn't fit. Basically she met a guy and a week later she's literally trying to kill herself for him (i.e. literally giving him her heart)
Rosa would be first priority; while everything would make sense for Robert to return seeing as Iron City is his Troublemaker back lot, I don’t think another director would be horrible: Guillermo del Toro introduced Battle Angel to Cameron, so he would be a great option... and the stories for the sequels supposedly already have written treatments if not full screenplays

Also the sequel should be much cheaper to produce since much of the technology and 3d modeling work was already done for the first movie. As for why it didn't make more money the first time around, there were a number of reasons but mostly due to Disney attacking it in favor of their own inferior Captain Marvel movie. Also due to when Alita came out and some legal circumstances around it and Fox, Disney doesn't hold the rights to the franchise and therefore wants it gone. There are other better options besides getting funding from Disney though and I don't know about whatever BS happened behind the scenes over the last year which could have changed the status quo. I would offer to bankroll the sequel myself if I had anywhere near that kind of money, but such is life. There is a loyal fanbase to this movie and we all want a sequel.......
I don't comprehend how a movie that earned twice what it cost could be deemed a failure. I have Dark Horse comics about this series from decades ago so I knew who the character was long before the movie. I think Rob did an awesome job and deserves to get to do a sequel.
It's a false narrative created by Disney in the media, Disney needed all of Fox's movies to fail during the time of it's acquisition but Alita only succeeded and kept the Fox stock rice up costing Disney an overpriced 72 billion and the label "failure" got stuck, she grossed 404 mill on a 170 mill budget, total of 150 mill budget if you subtract tax exemptions the movie received from Texas and New Zealand

Alita: Battle Angel was a terrific film, and Alita 2 sounds like something to look forward to. I've absolutely no desire to see Avatar 2.

Have some sympathy for the narrator. We only had to listen to her voice for a few minutes, she has to listen to it all day.

I didn't get the chance to watch it on cinema. But just in a 43inch screen it looked amazing. We want a sequel.
