Danny Elfman could've just voiced the entire cast of Nightmare (other than Sally and maybe the other female characters), both singing anf speaking, and it would have been just as good, if not better.
The demo versions remind me of when I'd stand in the dark in my room with a speaker in front of my mouth trying to do all the voices to "kidnap the sandy claus" but I was just a lil kid, it was nutty fun.

I actually prefer this version, even while growing up on the original.
