The one thing I think you missed is they added an option to zoom out farther. This is something people have been begging for but never expected to happen.
They need a middle option zoom. The close-up is really nice but it's still too close. Would it hurt to have one in between? Zooming out further is like a wish list for.... Who? 😮

I feel like Division 2 dropped the most fire system in Action RPG/Looter Shooter history with the recalibration library and I'm excited to see that D4 might get something similar. It'll be annoying if you have to update it every season but it's a step in the right direction
My buddy spent like 20 days min maxing his library trying to get a single 0.1% upgrade.

Ive been running Lacerate from season 1, i REALLLLY hope these new changes + the item stuff will truly make my Lacerate playthrough feel great this time LMAO
the greater affixes remind me of the primals from d3. do you know if the greater affixes will always roll at max value?

I'm not complaining though. The systems at work in LE are absolutely amazing and should be in every ARPG in one form or another. Inb4 the Paragon system gets reworked into a system of "skill trees for your abilities". Once again, I wouldn't be complaining, though.
they turned every item that drops into a base to craft on. Which is good if your item bases are interesting or diverse. It will get stale chasing greater affixes/attempting to RNG upgrade random affixes quickly.
This all sounds great and I’ve heard people say this should have been around at launch but I think a lot of this couldn’t be this good without the whole community playing, complaining/complementing, and the data gathered it is so kewl. A labor of love driven by the creators and the gamers together to make a very kewl fun game. Just came back since last playing in season 2 and pretty excited for all these changes. My only question would be if they have any plans for rebirthing characters. I love some of my characters but potentially remaking them every season is annoying
I wish they would add somthing beyond your paragon board. Once I get to lvl100 I feel like it’s pointless to keep playing unless I’m going for Ubers
The changes are great, the only thing i dont like is the summoning materials for bosses still. But its something.
At least you can now get them from more than oen place.
Does the codex reset every season?
Will they add damage score?! Its is so needed!
Feels good that they are improving, game is still missing a group finding function, action house/trading system and loot filter( knowing diablo, it's still going to be needed). But,hey, baby steps...at least the direction is good
Auction house? Are you crazy? It was removed from D3 because people were farming gear there instead of playing. I did that too. It was a sad story. Hope they don't bring anything similar back.
Everything looks good, except the exp changes. Making the exact same mistake again as they did with D3 where the entire experience just gets crushed into endgame.

It’s pretty sad that the game developers didn’t understand that these itemization core staples should have been in the game from launch. It’s great that they’re updating things now and it seems like this will make the game better over the long-term but they’ve already lost so many players. I’m not sure how many are going to come back. Also, it’s a huge blackeye to the developers and a really bad look because they clearly have no idea what they’re doing based on their original decisions. They really need to hire some better creative leads when it comes to RPG elements because the people in place had to be berated by the community for the better part of six months to even consider making these changes That they absolutely had to make or the game would be completely dead. Like, random dudes on Reddit from their basement had better ideas about itemization for this game than all of their RPG creative team that’s wildly pathetic.
The state of the AAA development cycle is in a real bad spot right now it’s all about quantity and not about quality. And that quality used to be what made AAA studios AAA studios. Not anymore.
Sounds ok. Each season is bring small but good changes.

What a w. I keep telling everyone blizzard f'd up Diablo 3 at launch too. D4 is gonna be great at some point.
This is an awesome update 100%. My only concern is they're making you run dungeons and most likely the same dungeon over and over again to upgrade your weapons. That's going to get annoying fast. They need to stop making this run the same several dungeons over and over again and find something new make us do open world shit even if it's a fetch quest at least we're going throughout the areas and different parts and it's something new er. They really just need to pull from Diablo 3 and just randomize these fucking dungeons so they're completely different every time you play them with different enemies every single time. Keep it new keep it fresh It's harder to get bored. But when you play the same shit especially five times in a row to upgrade one piece of armor or weapon or whatever I hate my life lol

Seems to me they should’ve delayed the game pass release on the 28th, I can imagine it’s going to cause a lot of negative feedback dropping the game on game pass then drastically changing the game a couple of weeks after

If I hear class balance one more time. I’m going to puke. Barb HAS 4 fucking weapon slots- 2 Two handed. More aspect spots. You can run GF AND Doom and STILL have the same slots as Sorc or Druid.
Barb is inherently the best class because of the stat sticks. I get it they should hit the hardest. But they’re also the most durable. If they want to make it “balanced” then give Necro, Sorc, and Druid. 2 more ring slots. And rouge an extra weapon. Let them carry both bow and CB

My new concern is that the manual might replace our aspect hoarding. Stash tabs filled with manuals. Other than that, everything sounds decent.
Isn't the new UI for tempering holding the manuals for tempering?
They should consolidate the boss mats as well. Like borderlands, just one mat that drops from everywhere used to summon any boss.
Then bots would farm uber duriel and uber andariel mats :P
It's a shame that Blizzard's formula seems to be wasted hype at launch for broken mechanics, by the time they give people a game they want no one cares any more.
Copying Last Epoch sounds great to me, hopefully by season 5 you will be able to trade anything! Love the Division 2 setup in D4, going to be great!
I think trading uber uniques and the masterworking mats would just straight up make the game worse / pay to win. People would become stronger through third party cash trades instead of playing. But I never expected this change to trading to come at all. I think they hit the right spot. It basically is full trading, because the bulk of what you will want are good bases with greater affixes, and you can get those through trade, including standard uniques. And then to improve them you need to play. Seem fine. If there is nothing to chase and you get everything in one hour it is a shit game.
Trading anything would break the game and would be pay to win through 3rd party services.
Tbh I am still not sure whether it’s enough for me to come back. I was hoping for d4 to be more like d2R with all the complex itemization and runewords.the itemization was my biggest issue of d4 ever since and I’m not sure whether that got addressed appropriately. But we have to wait for those new uniques to be able to say that for sure. Fingers crossed they have some great ideas for exciting uniques.
If that helps you: D2 did not have runewords until the Lord of destruction expansion. D2 had many years to become what is today.
Same with Last Epoch. It was in early access for 6 years. D4 on the other hand had testable content less than two years.
In a few years they might get to something.
I think they waiting for the DLC vessel of hatred to release runeword based itemizarion. If they shuv everything in before a dlc then there will be no motivation to buy it haha
Are they making it nice to look at yet? Maybe add more color than brown, gray and red.
They added color to Diablo 3 and people complained that it wasn't dark enough. Go play that instead and stop complaining.

Its not 4.5! Its more like 3.5 .There is still no endgame and the paragon system is still horrible, not to mention the skill twig. Though changes are in the right direction, there is still a LONG way until the game is in a good enough state.
So I guess all that's left to steal from last epoch is the legendary potential system....?

I love how all it took was a MUCH better game to come out (Last Epoch) for devs on D4 to go, oh, we should change our game to make it more what the players want.
It’s almost as if Last Epoch wouldn’t exist without Diablo. Inspiration can do amazing things.
I don't know that ripping off the systems from Last Epoch is really what I wanted to see out of D4's next update lol

Correct me if I'm wrong here... with masterworking, you have 12 total levels, but only levels 4, 8, and 12 are going to have benefits? So we have to farm mats for 3 useless levels between each benefit? If so that's gonna get fixed. People don't like farming for arbitrary stuff.
you got it wrong. every level gives 5% on every stat, and you get 25% on a random stat every 4 levels. So it will be a matter of RNG to get the 3 random bonuses where you want them, but at least you can redo the masterworking until you get it right. The only way to bork an item is with tempering, but there at leat you dont lose masterworking mats, just the base. Seems a legit progression system for gear to me, but we will see. I prophetize skyhigh prices for bases with good greater affixes tho, and people getting very angry when they get the wrong temper on it, but at least you cannot bork uniques.

Imo, these changes sound mostly pretty positive, but its just not enough for me to put down Last Epoch to go play D4 again and by the time Last Epoch gets boring, PoE2 should be landing. I feel like D4 is moving in the right direction but its just not compelling enough for me to give the game a second look. Maybe once the xpac comes. RoS was so transformative positive for D3 that I just hope the D4 expac is the same because even with better itemization and some more end game activities it still isn't enough for me to go grind D4.
You stil haven't got fed up by LE? I did completely. Grinding to increase corruption by miniscule amounts is becoming very boring.
But what is killing it for me is the completely broken state of multiplayer.
@@marsovac I mostly play solo or duo with a friend which works fine, I don't care about multiplayer beyond that. I still quite enjoy it but granted I don't have crazy hours into it yet. (I'd also point out that I didn't start playing until 1.0 so Its still pretty fresh for me) I was bored of D4 long before this point. The game isn't perfect but its far superior to D4.
Honestly, I'd probably go back and play RoS before I went back to D4, RoS was more fun. But at this point there are so many great ARPGs on the market, I have plenty of stuff to enjoy. LE is great, PoE is still great but just daunting to play, PoE2 looks like it will be amazing. Undecember is shockingly good for what it is. (though it gets mega grindy in end game). D2R is still phenomenal as D2 always has been. Not to mention No Rest for the Wicked coming fairly soon. D4 can't just be "better" to get me to take a second look, it has to be transformatively better. Slightly better itemization, greater rifts, and one more boss fight just isn't going to cut it. (Though, granted, the Andariel fight was probably the coolest one in the whole campaign, so ther is that) I really do hope that the expac does for it what RoS did for D3 because I want D4 to be good but I just don't have a lot of faith in Blizzard at this point and D4 is trying to much to add MMO mechanics which really drains the fun, at least for me.
Is next seasons theme time travel also... I'll piss my pants with laughter if it is... cause now everyone ends up playing last epoch one way or the other after this update... you can either get in on the 35 dollar early access, or get the $90 dollar pre-order hunk of turds version in a few months...

I enjoyed LE but it had nowhere near the players of D4 and it has gone from 250k peak users to 70k peak users in under a month. It isn't exactly the D4 slayer people want to make it out to be.

I still like last epoch... no thank you. They screwed the pooch. No Diablo in a Diablo game... Huge no no. I may come back when they make their own game and quit copying last epoch, which IMO is KILLING diablo and Blizzard. Back to Last Epoch to play a game that is worth playing and grinding... peace😊
I just want a season where the theme is not required to push difficulty. Why make a character that will be bricked? They swing too hard on these seasons, so much so that they can’t keep the content for non season.
