I've just found my new favorite episode of Back on Track! And Holy Gresley, we actually get to see Mallard, the magnificent and fastest steam locomotive in the world in it! 😆😆😆😆😆😄😄😄😄😄 I know from what you stated in your previous commentaries that the amount of characters you have in model train form is very limited (until you got the Bachmann Bill & Ben), but it's so surreal to see a few other engines from different brands of the same gauge like Hornby make an appearance. The humor has me in total stitches in terms of dialogue like James forgetting Duck's real name, Percy calling James "skunk" at the beginning (which does remind me of "James the big stinky" quote in Adventure Continues), the Gordon & the Famous Visitor quote, the Fat Controller's expression after James left the yard and James being so dumbfounded beyond belief that he never heard of Mallard or the other A4 Pacifics named after birds too. It's just so hysterical. Oh well. My favorite scene though are the shots of James chasing after Mallard to try and talk to her, combined with the custom Vicarstown Bridge set, the countrysides and the cinematography of Mallard and James' undercarriages (which is something the actual models couldn't do let alone CGI, but this has me glued to the screen). Also the King's Cross station set looks stunning (looks like there's more than Paddington, Duck!) And finally, this is what I can call a realistic version of Thomas' Animal Friends except only this time without what everyone keeps calling this stuff "furries" (even though I do love Rebecca and a little bit of the moral of doing what you love despite what others might say which is a ongoing thing with Thomas' current reputation between fans and non-Thomas fans, thank goodness for the Unlikely Fandom to come and set it all right hopefully). In this one, the moral is actually not blatantly said and only feels genuine, especially with Duck and James' rivalry with the latter used to think animal names for engines are undignified from the start until Mallard showed up which reminded me of Gordon's opinion of domeless or decorated engines. Good thing though Bear, Toad and Gator aren't here. They'd never hear the end of it and would probably give James a piece of their minds.🤣😅 Looking forward to the next episode!

This is one of the best Thomas videos ive seen on CZcams, the shots are amazing, the sets are incredible, the writing and music, not to mention sound design, is beyond incredible.I love the detail of the station announcements, and American rolling stock in some scenes. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen, I gotta say this was phenomenal! It was funny & entertaining, but also very true to “classic thomas” if you wanna call it that. I like how even when Percy is tired and clearly done with everyone, he still doesn’t snap at Thomas for asking his question. That’s some pretty good respect for his best friend, even if it’s for a dumb joke 😂
Holy friggin cow dude. I've never seen anything from your channel before but this is off the chain!!! The writing has to be the strongest part - which I can't always say for fan-written episodes, even if they might look really nice - the dynamics between all the engines, bickering and poking fun at each other feels absolutely true to form. It's a small thing, but I love that Gordon unknowingly parrots the "how uncultured" line - it's funny and it totally fits. I love how Mallard is built up - this is easily the best attempt I've seen at writing Mallard into the Thomas and Friends universe. I think making her a female character is an inspired choice (maybe that shouldn't be that groundbreaking but we all know Thomas is kind of a sausage fest). On top of that, I loved the cinematography and compositing work (the shot at 3:16 looks amazing and seamless)! I can tell a lot went into this. All the sets look very fully realized - the highlights for me were the bridge to the mainland and Scarborough Station. I didn't even notice that LEGO was being used as set dressing in my first watch! It totally works. I especially enjoyed all of the shots during the chase (6:08 is INSANE! Never seen anything like that with physical models before - and the camera angle and movement at 6:24 is super smooth - goes great with the Harold trill in the music) and Duck's reveal shot at 7:29. I can totally understand why an episode like this would take a ton of time an effort to make. It paid off tremendously.

Some say mallard is male, others say mallard is female. However, the concept of a non binary mallard hasn't been explored I do not know if this is a good thing or not.

Wow, just wow! So many shots in this had me picking my jaw up off the floor; the tracking camera when james was chasing mallard, the birds-eye view of the chase and shots with the engines passing over the camera, all spectacularly filmed and edited, bravo! That was an awesome punchline, too - yet another banger episode!

3:42 I believe I have theological answer to why James doesn't have red wheels. It's because of that other red engine who tried to push Henry out of the tunnel. The illistratior gave that james look alike red wheels and when he illustrated James in his book, he gave him black wheels so children wouldn't mistake him for that other red engine and to keep the continuity in line. But that's just a theory of mine. Y'all don't have to believe it if ya don't wanna.

I think making her a female character is an inspired choice (maybe that shouldn't be that groundbreaking but we all know Thomas is kind of a sausage fest).
On top of that, I loved the cinematography and compositing work (the shot at 3:16 looks amazing and seamless)! I can tell a lot went into this. All the sets look very fully realized - the highlights for me were the bridge to the mainland and Scarborough Station. I didn't even notice that LEGO was being used as set dressing in my first watch! It totally works. I especially enjoyed all of the shots during the chase (6:08 is INSANE! Never seen anything like that with physical models before - and the camera angle and movement at 6:24 is super smooth - goes great with the Harold trill in the music) and Duck's reveal shot at 7:29.
I can totally understand why an episode like this would take a ton of time an effort to make. It paid off tremendously.

The Vicarstown shot at 3:16, the aeiral shot, and the bridge were definitely the hardest and longest to do, so I really appreciate the kind words!
To be honest, I was worried this episode would be the weakest of my series and be disappointing after I took so long to finish it, so getting such nice comments like this has been very heartwarming. :')

3:42 I believe I have theological answer to why James doesn't have red wheels. It's because of that other red engine who tried to push Henry out of the tunnel. The illistratior gave that james look alike red wheels and when he illustrated James in his book, he gave him black wheels so children wouldn't mistake him for that other red engine and to keep the continuity in line. But that's just a theory of mine. Y'all don't have to believe it if ya don't wanna.
That could be the reason!
James now spends every day plotting vengeance against the mysterious red engine that stole his red wheels haha
